I know it's not quite Halloween, but it's Halloween weekend, and with Halloween on a Monday I'm not sure if I'll be getting in any more Adventures of Baby Rick Grimes before we return to your regularly scheduled programming.

Today's recreation of 'the moment' from the Season Premier of The Walking Dead Season 7 stars a Playmobil/Madball knockoff as Glen, a Lego minifig as Negan, and of course our intrepid Tomy wind-up toddler sheriff as Baby Rick Grimes. Take a bow, everyone!

It's that time of year again - time for another Countdown to Halloween!

A couple months ago I found this 1978 Tomy wind-up toddler at the flea market and it immediately made me think of a baby Rick Grimes of The Walking Dead. So I decided to make this year's Countdown to Halloween theme: 'The Adventures of Baby Rick Grimes!'

I can't promise a post every day this October, my current schedule just won't allow it, but I think I can at least stick with the Baby Rick Grimes theme and promise you he'll be a part of every 2016 Countdown to Halloween post.

Last weekend I stumbled on a beautiful specimen of Rock Lord-dom. Boulder - the leader of the good rocks!

Rock Lords are stupider than shit but damned if I didn't love them as a kid.

Rocks that transform into robots.

I really wish I had held on to all of the ones I had when I was a kid. But I didn't, and they rarely show up during my second-hand hunting. So when I found a near minty fresh Boulder at the flea market last weekend for two bucks I had to have him even though i think I might have a less perfect one around Toyriffic headquarters somewhere.

This one even has his gun! The tab that holds it to his wrist is broken but that's not a big deal since I haven't seen Boulder's gun since I was a wee lad.

Boulder....he turns into a rock...HEROICALLY!

AAAHH! Real Monsters The Gromble :: Random Halloween Toy Pic

Aaahh! Real Monsters action figures never show up on my flea market hunts. Ok, not 'never', they only show up ONCE EVER! And this is it: The Gromble.

This guy reminds me of something from The Beatles' Yellow Submarine (and makes me regret giving up my Blue Meanie action figure years ago.) He also looks like he was set too close to a candle as his left ear/fin is a bit singed. He's missing some sort of launchable character that flew from his mouth too, but whatever, he's a goofy looking monster and it's almost Halloween, so yeah.

Random Halloween Toy Pic :: Lexington

I find Gargoyles action figures at the flea market all the time. Sadly, 99.9% of the time they are missing their wings, their tails, or both. More often, both.

But when I find them complete I have a hard time walking away from them, even though I only watched a handful of episodes.

This Gargoyle is named Lexington, and I was lucky enough to find him the other day with both wings and his tail too!

Now the only question is, Wolfman has insurance?

My intern wanted me to join in while she was playing with her Playmobil Vet set. She didn't appreciate me adding Wolman to the mix.

I think Wolfman appreciated it even less.

We've reached the end of another Countdown to Halloween, and as your treat for sticking with me this whole month (and hopefully for many more months to follow) here are a bunch of happy Halloweenys with faces designed by my intern:

"Is that a bolt in my neck or am I just happy to see you?"

"Go ask daddy. Get it? Because I am...mummy!"

These silly Halloween decorations came from the dollar store. My intern added their faces with included sticker packs. A really fun little Halloween activity indeed!

It's ALLLIIIVVVVEEE! Frankenstein's Monster Toilet Paper Tubes! :: Countdown to Halloween 2014

My intern and her mommy have been doing all sorts of fun Halloween themed crafts to prepare for the upcoming holiday festivities. Here they made Frankenstein's monster out of toilet paper tubes, screws, and some googly eyes. Haunting!

Happy Birthday Intern! Don Post Darth Vader Helmet :: Countdown to Halloween 2014

My little intern 'Darla Vader' turns three today!

Here she is sporting a Don Post Darth Vader helmet I picked up from the Goodwill for my Halloween costume this year. She is also eating some 'Inner Peas.'

"I find this helmet's lack of a mouth disturbing."

"WHEW! And it is SO much easier to breath without that face part on! No wonder Darth Vader sounded so asthmatic!"

"All too easy."

Dead Knight! LEGO Ghost Knight Minifigure :: Countdown to Halloween 2014

This Black Knight LEGO armor belonged to one of the past minifigure blind bagged series (I don't recall which.) I gave him a skeleton head and WHAMMO! Spooky ghost Knight!

I also gave him a black jousting lance. And a sword. MORE SPOOKY!
