Random Toy Pic :: Super Hero Squad Volcana

I now dang near nothing about Marvel's Volcana except the obvious, she has fire powers of some sort. Regardless, she's a neat transluscent flame-on female super(villain?) and is super cute in Super Hero Squad style.

I think Volcana was only available in a Toys R Us exclusive multi-pack. but don't quote me.

Random Toy Pic :: Tomy Wind-Up Turtle

I loved wind-up toys when I was a kid and I still love them to this day; especially wind-ups like this vintage turtle from Tomy. Not sure the exact year on this guy, he's just marked 'Tomy' and 'Made in China' on the bottom, but I'd be willing to bet he's from the late 70s to mid 80s.

Random Toy Pic: Who Knows What Evil Lurks in the Hearts of Men?

The shadow knows!

I was digging through some older Batman stuff  that's been boxed up in the garage for a while and came across one of my all time favorites. I couldn't resist taking this shadow picture of him - such crisp sharp lines!

In case you're wondering who this gentleman is...

Crimson Patrol Batman, from the 2006 'The Batman' toyline.

They didn't go full Azreal with this one, as it's simply Batman in CalTrans orange under that helmet (slow for the cone zone!) but still, what an awesome homage! I remember being shocked when I saw this guy on the shelf, I couldn't believe The Batman line was referencing the Knightfall storyline.

Random Toy Pic :: Suicide Squad

Just a quick pic of the Squad all together (every Squad member I own in 6" scale that is).

Yeah, I'd totally go see this movie!

Random Toy Pic :: Ben 10

Ben Tennyson is the first Ben 10 figure I've picked up. I love the aesthetic of the aliens and monsters but I've never watched the show and all I know about it is that it's a 'Dial 'H' for Hero' type situation where Ben turns into monsters and stuff because reasons. Whatever, now I have Ben himself so I probably should get a monster or alien or two. Grabbed this guy from a garage sale for about a quarter. I like the character design, he looks like he stepped straight out of the cartoon.

Happy Father's Day and Fun with Fisher-Price Little People

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there in internet land! Play with some toys with your kids!

Yesterday I took my kids out to the flea market and some yard sales. The day started pretty slim, but by the end I did find a good pile of Little People and accessories. Added to what we already have from when my oldest daughter was small, we now have quite a nice sized collection for my littlest. While playing, I snapped a handful of fun pictures just for the heck of it. Enjoy!

Who doesn't love the iconic Little People dog? He's one of the greatest toys ever created! We now have three after finding one more yesterday, along with the wading pool!

The Engineer with his jaunty mustache wants to take the helicopter out for a spin.

Umm...is the lady of the house in?

We already had the Little People house, but didn't have the staircase, so that was a nice find!

I especially love the older wooden Little People. Old school!

Happy Father's Day!

Who Let the Dogs Out?

Scored this Papo Cerebrus at a garage sale today. He was just too crazy weird to pass up!

The Fisher-Price Little People dog served as Toyriffic Central's welcoming committee, but had to be pulled away once the sniffing began as the head to butt ratio was way out of balance.

Random Toy Pic :: Masters, Prepare for Battle!

Trying to get a bit more organized with my toys that aren't on display, and gathered together a bunch of MOTU figures that for some reason haven't been stored with my main MOTU collection yet. Zodac and Trap-Jaw (you can see the top of his head above He-Man) are actually the re-releases from around 2000. The rest are original MOTU figures from flea market finds over the past few years. And even with a handful of floppy limbs, they all stand surprisingly well!

Extendar, Roboto, Horde Trooper, Grizzlor, and even Battle Cat are all figures I did not own as a child. You can see a bit of Clawful too in the right lower corner - he was one of my childhood favorites and one I did own and love.

Random Toy Pic :: The Doc Ock Is In

Doc Ock via Playskool. I've always been a fan of Doctor Octopus. I remember seeing him on the cardbacks of my Secret Wars action figures (I had Doom, Iron Man and Wolverine) and really wanting to add him to my modest collection. But alas it never happened.

This kiddie Playskool version of the good Doctor is tops, I love his mechanical arms, they give this guy a literal extra dimension that makes him stand out against the other heroes and villains in the line. Of the few Playskool Marvel figures I own, this guy has fast become my favorite.

The Force is Strong With Playskool

Ever since my oldest daughter saw The Force Awakens she's been a huge Star Wars nut. And I couldn't be prouder! I never thought I'd regret thinning my Star Wars collection down a few years back, but now I really wish I still had all those Force Awakens and prequel action figures for her.

Thank goodness for the Flea Market, where I can still find her all sorts of fun Star Wars goodies from every generation!

This last weekend I scored for her a POTF Hoth Luke, a handful of Playskool Star Wars figures, and a  Sandtrooper from the earlier Super Hero Squad styled Star Wars Playskool line.

I love the little chibi R2-D2, and I'm tempted to keep the general Kenobi figure for myself. But since I've already been giving my daughter all the figures I had from these lines, I probably shouldn't start backpedaling now.

Random Toy Pic :: Day Out With Daddy

When I purchased the Toddler Turtles at retail my oldest daughter was a wee toddler herself, and she loved playing with these little guys.

She played with them so much in fact that over time (and a couple moves) I lost all their weapons, and a couple of the turtles themselves!

Over the years I was able to reacquire all the brothers and two of the four weapons (still need Raph's sai and Leo's sword) and now my youngest daughter is a toddler and, wouldn't you know it, she loves these little guys too!

I've learned my lesson, and the weapons I do own are kept apart from the figures. And when I come home from work I try to gather them all together so I know where they are (at least until I leave for work the next day!) and they don't end up separated and unaccounted for or worse: stepped on!

My daughter likes to play with toys that have parent and kid pairings (like her large Piglet and small Piglet - one is the mom or dad and one is the kid) so of course I had to get the Turtles' actual dad in on the fun! Beforehand she was using the grown Turtles as each Toddler Turtle's parent (dad Raph and kid Raph, mom Leo and kid Leo etc etc) but that's just silly. Everyone knows a Toddler Turtle's dad is a rat! And besides, the older Turtles are only Teenagers themselves - I don't want to encourage teenage pregnancy!

Random Toy Pic :: April O'Neil, 1992

'This is my best 'Al Bundy' pose. Well, it was this or my hand in my pants.'
This 1992 April O'Neil came my way via an after-garage-sale free pile. She lacks all her accessories but FREE APRIL! She's in great shape, and heretofore was not an April O'Neil in my modest April O'Neil collection (I have five Aprils now...this one as well as Bride of Frankenstein April, Nickelodeon April, Classic April, and 2007 TMNT movie April.

That's a lot of Aprils!

Random Toy Pic :: Batman Meets...Batgirl?

'Hello, sexy. Want to find out if the Batmobile has a back seat?'
I picked up this Star Wars alien Kabe from the flea market the other day. Kabe was originally released as a Power of the Force Star Wars fan club exclusive along with Muftak (a version of which I already own.) Kabe is a girl, and a bat-headed Chadra-Fan girl at that, who appeared in the original Star Wars Cantina scene! How could I pass on her for just a dollar? I couldn't, that's how.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! We here at Toyriffic hope you get tons of candy and NO ROCKS!

BONUS TREATS: My intern insisted on adding some other toys to my ghost shot line-up:

Ghosts and a Velociraptor, because all dinosaurs are dead so they would naturally be ghosts by this point in history.

Ghosts and a puppy! Because even restless souls love puppies.

Ghosts and a pig! Wasn't there something about a pig ghost in Amytiville Horror?

Have a ghostly Halloween!
