Another custom kitbash LEGO minifigure: Zatanna, mistress of magic!
LEGO Zatanna is made up of random pieces from various garage sale finds. I have no idea who this suited torso originally belonged to. And while I am pretty sure the head is from a Jedi, I also do not know who it originally belonged to. But the olive complexion, the greenish lips and the dots across the bridge of the nose give Zatanna an exotic look that separates her a bit from being just a minifigure gal in a tuxedo. I think the legs go to an old LEGO Knight minifigure, and the hair might be from a modern blind bagged minifigure.
I might throw some white paint or white tape on the wand, and if I had a black top hat for her to hold in her other hand she'd be pure gold; unfortunately I wasn't into LEGO minifigures during Series 1 when they released an actual magician minifigure! Maybe someday I will track him down for parts; until then Zatanna is pretty cool in her own right and I'm happy to have her on my LEGO JLA team!
And if you just can't get enough Zatanna, check out The Other Side blog for Zatanna Zaturday - a Zatanna themed post every Saturday!

Random Cosplay Pic :: Serinda Swan as Zatanna
Love it or hate it, Smallville did a lot of great things for fans of Superman and comics in general in it's ten year run.
Topping the list; this:
Serinda Swan as the Mistress of Magic herself, Zatanna!
I think it's pretty noteworthy too, and the New DCU should especially take note, that Serinda's Zatanna costume is comic accurate and SUPER sexy, yet not very revealing.
Sexy is attitude and swagger - and not always skin.
"Evomer sehtolc!"
Okay, sometimes it's skin too.
If you want more Zatanna (and who doesn't?) swing over to The Other Side where Tim does a weekly Zatanna Saturday!

Zatanna the Magician in: Kill or be Killed!
In honor of The Other Side's newest feature: 'Zatannurday' - a weekly celebration of all things Zatanna, (inspired in part by yours truly's weekly Harley Qwednesday) I am posting in it's entirety this great little seven page Zatanna back-up story by Len Wein and Gray Morrow entitled Kill -- or be Killed!
Pretty cool story for just a seven page back-up! And even Zatara makes an appearance. Great art by Gray Morrow too!
I found this story in the back of Adventure Comics 415, cover dated Feb. 1972. A fun Supergirl comic I picked up at the swap meet for cheap!
Because, damn, if that ain't the type of cover that makes you want to buy the book, I don't know what is!
Keep your eyes on The Other Side every Zatannurday for more from the world's greatest (or at least the world's hottest-in-fishnets) magician!

Abra-abra-cadabra...
...I want to reach out and grab ya!
This alluring illusionist is Zatanna Zatara from the JLU action figure line representing her Justice League Unlimited animated look.
Zatanna is a magician who can cast magical spells by speaking in reverse. Her father was Giovanni Zatara - the magician who trained a young Bruce Wayne in the magical arts!
This figure is the single carded release of Zatanna. I think her leggings were different (fishnet) if you got her in the three pack release.
The carded release of Zatanna also came with a magic wand, but she can't really hold it very well.
Zatanna has a pretty simple but unmistakable and classic design, and I much prefer this classic magician looking costume over the more super-heroish look she had in the eighties.
Zatanna was a must have figure for me even though I'm only a casual collector of JLU because the character is so cool and fun. I hope she ends up in the DC Universe Classics and DC Infinite Heroes lines really soon!
