Weird Science, or: More Fun with Muck Man, Mutagen Man, and Slime!

...and Legos!

I built this Lego slime pit ages ago. It was so long ago, in fact, that it is all dusty! But I am only now finally getting around to a photoshoot, thanks to the inspirational voices of Muck Man and Mutagen Man!

"Is our victim ready, MM?"

"Ready, unwilling, and unable...to escape, MM!"

"Okay MM, you man the outflow modulator..."

"...while I monitor the carbonator catalyst!"

"It's slime-time!"

Gloop Glork Glop Glip...

"AHHHHH! What are you doing to me?"

"Don't fight it, Miss O'Neil. We promise, this is for your own good!"

"Just you wait until the turrppplllssmhhmnnhmnn...."

"It's working, MM, it's working! The mutagen is taking hold of her DNA and the results are...are..."

"...OUTSTANDING!"

"And I assure you, Miss O'Neil, your turtle friends will be most pleased indeed!"

Random Toy Pic(s) :: Slime Time with Mutagen Man and Muck Man

A little while back Mason from D.I. Treasures sent me a tub of glow in the dark slime for winning a contest or somesuch. I finally got around to using it tonight in my original TMNT Muck Man and Mutagen Man, but was unable to get any good shots of the glowing effect. Sadface!

But trust me, it looks pretty darn cool to see a faint green glowing lump in Mutagen Man's belly when all the lights are out!

My intern had an absolute blast 'helping' me fill Mutagen Man up with slime and water. I was a little stressed that she would drop his cap into the sink and I'd lose it down the drain. I have had Mutagen Man for a few years now, and this is the first time I've filled him up with anything. But what fun is a toy if you can't play with it, right?

There is an updated version of Mutagen Man being released very soon in the NickToons TMNT line, but from what I have seen of him online he pales in comparison to this original version. He does fill with slime too, though, which is a huge plus. I will have to see him in person before I commit.

Thanks again for the slime, Mason!

My Submission for "Best Toy EVER!"

This past weekend was my daughter's birthday. While shopping for her last week I discovered these "Scooby Doo Goo Figure Pod" toys at Toys R Us. These are small pods of slime with a Scooby Doo mini-figure blindly packed inside.

So knowing my daughter likes slime and Scooby Doo, I picked one up to pack into a present.

It was a hit! I quickly ran to Toys R Us to get more of them to give to her sister and cousins (and of course myself) so we could all share in the fun.

And oh boy, what fun!

First off: slime. Which is always awesome forever end of story.

Second, these little Scooby Doo figurines are incredibly cool! I and my nephew got a monster, my daughters and niece got versions of Scooby, everyone was happy.

Mine is this zombie guy from the classic cartoon. I'm pretty sure he's just old man Jenkins in a mask, but whatever, zombies are in this season so I am pleased.
*EDIT: This guy is actually "The Creeper" aka Mr. Karswell.

Third...this:

Yes folks, that comedy gold you just heard was made with the slime and container it comes in (and my hand of course.)

Sufficed to say there was a lot of those noises and the laughter that ensued all weekend. The kids even had fart contests, competing to win 'loudest,' 'longest' and the coveted 'juiciest' of all fart noises.

Comedy GOLD I tells ya!

So for a mere $3.99 you get three toys in one! Slime, a mini-figure, and a fart maker! It's a hat trick!

How any other toy maker can compete with their 'toys that only do one thing' in these troubled economic times is beyond me.

What the Muck, Man?!?!

Like most original TMNT toys, Muckman is extremely ugly and plays well with slime. Unlike most other TMNT figures, or any other figure of the eighties and nineties, Muckman has an 'action feature' specifically designed with slime in mind...or should I say 'mouth."

Muckman has a removable plug in his head that allows kids to drop a small amount of slime into his garbagey cranium and watch in awe and wonder as Muckman slowly vomits slime.

Muckman is gross enough as it is, being a mutated pile of garbage. Add drooling slime and he reaches levels of grossness not usually seen (but highly desired) in action figure history!

Of course, why stop at the mouth? Muckman actually came with a garbage can that attached to his back which could also be filled with slime, which would then ooze from the front and back of his torso. Unfortunately my Muckman does not have his garbage can, but he's so cool I may have to one day track that can down to complete him.

Muckman has a ton of small details in his sculpt. You can stare at him up close for hours admiring the muck he's made up of. Everything from mushrooms to spiders to bottles - even a teddy bear is part of this slimer's make-up!

"Anyone got a tissue?"
