LEGO Goodwill Find :: Traitor Transport

I made a great LEGO discovery at the Goodwill this weekend by getting my hands on this bag of 'LEGO Misc.'

You never can tell all of what you are getting in these types of bags, but there was enough good stuff visible to make it worth way more than the asking price of four bucks and twenty nine cents!

The bag turned out to include the entire LEGO set 6047 Traitor Transport (including instructions!)

This is a fun medieval set with a creepy prisoner transport cage. But what makes the set even more wonderful is...

...Basil the Bat Lord! I have wanted this minifigure for years due to his Knight/Batman look. I plan on using that helmet to make me a Medieval Batman minifigure.

The set also comes with this sweet dragon! I just love LEGO large figures and creatures, so it's great to finally add a dragon to my collection.

In addition to the complete Traitor Transport, the bag also had a complete moon rover in it's box, as well as these minifigures (dig that crazy red mask on the right!) and a bunch of other pieces that include spaceship parts, police car parts and some construction vehicle pieces.

Some of the traitor transport pieces are discolored due to age or sun or whatever, but none of them are terrible and all the minifigures are in excellent shape. Not a bad haul for under five bucks!

Here there be Dragonman!

I modified my Lego Mini-Figure series five 'Lizard Man' ever so slightly...

I didn't particularly like the look of this figure with the 'eyes' peeking out from the mouth. I know the gimmick is that he's a guy in a costume, but I didn't want to display this guy in that manner. So I replaced the mini-figure head with a solid black one.

I also gave him some medieval weaponry. It's about time someone evened the playing field for poor oppressed dragons everywhere.

Now I just have your average run of the mill Dragonman, not a guy in a cheap Halloween suit! But either way, this guy is one of the gems of series five. If you are squeezing the packages to find these guys, he's easy to determine if you feel for his tail and the jagged scales on it and his 'head.'

Good luck!

The best things in life are free

And I submit as proof this Arco Other World two headed dragon 'Gaifand.'

I found this guy at the swap meet yesterday in a pile of non toy, totally unrelated stuff. I immediately knew what he was, and the 'Arco' and '1982' on his belly confirmed it. Wow! Other World stuff doesn't pop up all the time, especially in good condition. I of course had to have him. When I asked how much the guy said 'free.' Aw yeah!

Other World was an early eighties fantasy toy series of cheapish bendy toys, many of whom came with glow in the dark weapons. I had a few (namely the epic Froggacuda - BTW if anyone wants to trade this Gaifand for their Froggacuda I'd be willing to talk!) and I thought they were awesome!

Gaifand is supposed to have a saddle, but mine is missing. He's still a beautiful example with little play wear and all his bendy parts still bendable.

And the price was right, too!
