LEGO Jokerland Harley Quinn Minifigure :: Harley Qwednesday

LEGO continues their tradition of only releasing Harley Quinn minifigures with large expensive sets, so I continued my tradition of buying the minifigure off eBay in order to get my hands on this modern Roller Derby Harley Quinn LEGO minifigure.

Released as part of the DC Super Heroes Jokerland 76035 set and representing Harley Quinn in her current Roller Derby get-up, this Harley Quinn minifigure ironically did not come with LEGO rollerskates. Harley had to steal those from the Series 9 Derby Girl minifigure.

She did however come with a hammer (and a motorcycle, not shown.)

She also has a happy face and an angry face. I wish LEGO had gone the extra mile and had given her a black/red hairpiece to be fully accurate to her modern representation, but I suppose it's hard to argue with the inclusion of her iconic headpiece because ICONIC!

Funko POP! Roller Derby Harley Quinn :: Harley Qwednesday

I finally got my paws on the Funko POP! Roller Derby version of Harley Quinn!

In fact, I got may paws on a whole wad of awesome Funko Harley Quinn stuff thanks to the amazing Reis O'Brien of (No longer has any need to blog about toys because HE LIVES THEM EVERY DAY as a Funko employee!) fame!

Thanks Reis!

Over the next few Harley Qwednesdays we'll look at all these beauties individually, but today's focus is the Funko POP! Harley Quinn in her modern Roller Derby outfit:

Harley Quinn's costume seems to change about every fifteen minutes lately, but one of the best since her original is her Roller Derby costume. I love Harley Quinn, and derby girls are awesome, so of course I love Harley in her derby girl guise!

Of course I would prefer it if Harley had a domino mask, no matter her iteration, but this version does have the heavy make-up around the eyes like the comic source material.

She's also holding her super-sized croquet mallet, and of course she has her roller skates on!

Plus her black and red hair style, which is pretty cool because it hearkens back to Harley's original jester hat/headpiece.

And here she is from behind. Love those little shorts!

Apparently this Harley Quinn Funko POP! is available exclusively at Hot Topic for a limited time. Like with the Arkham Asylum Harley Quinn POP! that means she will see wide release in a couple months. But if you want her now, Hot Topic is your place to be!

Roller Derby Harley Quinn Funko POP! PopCultcha / Hot Topic Exclusive :: Harley Qwednesday

Just when you thought it was safe to go back to wherever it is you find Funko POP! vinyl - Funko just pinned this picture of this exclusive New Harley Quinn Roller Derby POP Vinyl figure!

UPDATE: Funko just posted on their Facebook page that this is a Hot Topic exclusive. Specifically, they said 'Fan of the new Hot Topic exclusive Roller Derby Harley Quinn?' and posted a pic of her with their local Roller derby team. So...I don't know. Look for her in the U.S. at Hot Topic. And LMK if you find her!

Otherwise, as previously reported: The Roller Derby Harley POP is (as of press time) exclusively on sale at Australian website PopCultcha.com.au. Harley is listed at $13.71 and shipping looks to be about $9 to get her to the U.S. (not too shabby considering how much MattyCollector charges for shipping within the U.S.) so if you are in the U.S. of A. like me and you want her she's going to run you around twenty three bucks and you are going to have to wait a bunch of weeks for her to arrive via airmail.

A long wait and a tad bit spendy for a POP! vinyl figure, but it's Harley Quinn so you know she's worth it.

Roller Derby Harley Quinn Action Figure Coming (not) Soon (enough)!

DC Collectibles just released these beautiful images of their upcoming Roller Derby Harley Quinn action figure, based on her recent appearance as, well, Roller Derby Harley Quinn, in the...you guessed it...Harley Quinn monthly series.

If there was ever a variant version of Harley Quinn I could get behind...

...get your minds out of the gutter...

...it is this one. Seriously. I am sitting here typing this after discovering this news and I am literally wearing a roller derby Harley Quinn t-shirt I got from TeeFury a few weeks ago. I am absolutely the target market for this specific action figure, and I cannot wait to see her in person.

Roller Derby Harley Quinn will be available July 2015 at a comic shop near you. Not soon enough, if you ask me!

That's not a 'vernacular,' that's a Derby (Girl)

Oh yeah, this is my favorite Lego Minifigure from Series 9: The Roller Derby Girl! Everyone knows Derby Girls are badass, and this minifigure is no different. She's got the sneer, the pads and tiny Lego roller skates! And although she could use some tattoos for full authenticity, major points to Lego for including the Jammer star on her helmet! Get outta the way or get flattened!

Lego Series 9 Plus Bump Codes

Lego Minifigures Series 9 are hitting stores now! I found mine at Toys R Us, where they only had one box but fortunately it was full enough that I was able to find all my minifigure 'must-haves' for this wave: Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde, Chicken Suit Guy, Cyclops and the awesome Roller Derby Girl!

I found them all via the tried and true 'squeeze method.' I don't usually bother with bump codes, the little almost invisible dots on the bottom backs of the packages. I find the 'squeeze method' to be perfectly accurate every time I need to know what I'm getting beforehand.

But I know many out there are embarrassed to cop a feel on their minifigure packaging while in store and do prefer the 'bump code' method. I can't speak to it's accuracy as I have never used it myself, but as a public service I decided to post the codes for the Series 9 Minifigures I acquired. I darkened the bumps with a sharpie so you can see them better in the photographs:

Cyclops.

Jekyll/Hyde.

Derby Girl.

Chicken Suit Guy.

Again, I prefer the squeeze method and can attest to it's accuracy, but you have to be patient and know what you are squeezing for:

Cyclops: Feel for the large head (confirm by feeling the horn on top) and confirm/feel for the spiky club.

Jekyll/Hyde: Feel for the tophat and confirm by feeling for the vial.

Derby Girl: Feel for those tiny skates and confirm by feeling the smooth helmet (haha dirty!)

Chicken Suit Guy: Feel for the chicken head (the beak is a giveaway but don't confuse it with the Cyclops horn!) and confirm by feeling for those unique wings/arms.

Good luck!
