In The Killing Boxx

Killing Box (noun) - a military maneuver that entails surrounding an enemy on all four sides in order to massacre them; another term for abattoir or slaughter-house.
Independent (adjective) - not influenced or controlled by others in matters of opinion, conduct; not subject to another's authority or jurisdiction; not relying on another or others for aid or support.

Art (noun) - the quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance; human effort to imitate, supplement, alter, or counteract the work of nature.

Grim (adjective) - not to be placated or appeased or moved by entreaty; ghastly, shockingly repellent; inspiring horror; black: harshly ironic or sinister; admitting of no appeasement or compromise.

Simply put, we're independent artists; artists whose sensibilities lean toward the grim. Why? Because we're paying attention.

In the KillingBoxx you will find awesome, informative, and witty articles written about horror and indie horrors that don't get talked about as much as they should. It's a rad site of a like-minded artist community. In the KillingBoxx shirt you will fell comfy.

Guest Writer for KillingBoxx

This month, as everyone well knows, is the second annual Women In Horror recognition month started by Ax Wound's Hannah Neurotica. In just ONE year, the event has grown tremendously! But, what gives? What is Women In Horror month?

KillingBoxx.com is a HUGE supporter of this very worthy month long celebration. They were kind enough to feature one Sylvia Soska as one of their special guest writers for the month. Sure, I am totally biased, but it really is quite incredible.

Got some questions about Women In Horror month? Here is her article.

Killing in the Youtube Boxx

We realize that the world around us is filled with beauty but even beauty is dark, and sinister and surrounded on all sides but the grim aspects of life; human and otherwise. We're the people who circle the edges, never invited in because we're scary, unpleasant and often speak the truth too starkly.

We also realize this type of art is upsetting, and is often lead to slaughter. Most do not wish to know what lurks amongst the shadows and would rather blithely go through life unaware, unenlightened and ignorant. And what do humans do to things they do not understand, or are unyielding to pretense? They kill it.

But we're fighting back. We're few who stand against the many. But with strategy, intelligence and stealth, even the few can conquer the many. And we invite you to join us.

These are the brilliant words of Killing Boxx. This is an incredible, well thought out, and beautifully written site that reviews some really cool stuff. I feel privileged beyond words to say that our good friend, Ken, has posted about a little known combined feature documentary from Twisted Twins Productions working as a team with FortyFPS Productions called PLEASE SUBSCRIBE.

The documentary follows the lives of four viral celebrities, who just also happen to be some of the most genuine, talented, and kind people on the planet -- David Choi, HappySlip, Daxflame, and Tay Zonday. Check out the post from Killing Boxx here, then go wander through the site. You're good to fall in love with the lovely layout and the intelligent content.

Kick Ass Kontest from KillingBoxx!!

What do you get the horror buff who has it ALL this Holiday season? You can still be a little naughty in all that niceness...

Did you know that KillingBoxx, in addition to reviewing killer films and all the assorted radness, give away AWESOME FREE STUFF?? Yes. I said FREE. They have TONS of contests and here's a very special one.

As y'all know, we love to support fellow Canucks (aka Canadians). Allow us to introduce (and hopefully RE introduce) you to ZOMBIE DEAREST...
"Zombie Dearest is David Kemker's directorial debut. He also co-wrote and starred in the movie as Gus Lawton, a struggling comedy writer who pushes his wife Deborah (Shauna Black) too far and he finds himself chasing her across the country to the run down house of her childhood. The old place needs fixing and Gus tries to work his way back into Deborah's life by rennovating the house, staring with the septic tank. In a moment of desperation, he turns to the heavens and begs for help. Moments later, he digs up the one thing that he needs, a zombie (David Sparrow) who will do the heavy lifting while Gus gets back to writing comedy. Testing his jokes out on the zombie, Gus finds his voice and his audience, and plans his return to stand-up comedy. But the zombie has other plans..."

Now onto the FREE stuff and the contest...

You have the opportunity to win:

* Signed Zombie Dearest DVD

* Signed 4" x 6" Zombie Dearest Post Card

And all you have to do is sign up to win HERE.That's it. It's THAT easy. You're totally welcome. For what, you ask? The contest info, of course!

And this.... ;)

Now, go be good, boys and grrls. Well, good(ish).

XO,
Jen
