The Twisted Twins Do Hell

Jen and I are ladies that like our filth and humour. This video talking about the ridiculously macabre and hilarious, Martin Olson's Encyclopaedia of Hell is probably one of our best works. Actually, definitely.

Please enjoy - and if you are longing for a rad book in your life, why the fuck not get this one?

Fright Fest Round-Up Radness by our Beloved Mitch Harrod

Missed Fright Fest? It was a fucking awesome horror-loving party! Check this wicked vid by Mitch Harrod and relive the brilliant experience.

All of the craziness, goriness, funniness, in-joke-iness, scariness & general manic shenanigans from this years Film4 FrightFest.
This August the 23rd 2012, Film4 FrightFest once again took over the August Bank Holiday, now in it's 13th year, for all of England's most die hard gore hounds & horror fiends. This is a just a taste of the wonders (for some) that bestowed those 1400 fans over the weekend.

FearNet interviews the Twisted Twins at Comic Con

Twin writer-directors Jen and Sylvia Soska discuss with FEARnet their latest indie horror opus, American Mary, starring Ginger SnapsKatharine Isabelle.

"This metaphor for the Soskas own journey through the independent film industry follows medical student Mary Mason as she becomes increasingly broke and disenchanted. The allure of easy money sends Mary into the twilight world of body modification and underground surgeries where obsessed flesh artists will pay anything and go through any pain to get their unusual procedures done. But Mary soon finds that her new ‘profession’ leaves more marks on her own psyche than on her freakish clientele."

A MASSIVE thank you to FearNet for taking the time to chat with us and a special thanks to FearNet's Sara Castillo. Check the whole piece here!

Fatally Yours,

Horror Nights at the Rio Presents SUICIDE CLUB!

This past Friday - July the 8th - marked our first kick off hostessing 'Horror Nights at the Rio' with Little Miss Risk. The Rio Theatre in Vancouver is a very special theatre - the last standing theatre in East Vancouver (not a easy task to be the ones fighting to keep the arts alive, but this team does it with class and panache). The film we were showing was the Japanese indie horror gem - SUICIDE CLUB.

Showing such a rad film that won 'Most Ground-Breaking Film' at the Fantasia Film Festival, that has developed a cult following for its highly controversial subject matter and its excessive ultra gore seems like show enough, but these days you need to get the epitome of bang for your buck and with a town as lively and loving of horror as Vancouver - it had to be a fuck of a show.

First a totally winged horror show trivia (where admittedly, I was the only one who didn't know the answer to my own question), then opening the show was a SUICIDE CLUB themed bloody number by AMERICAN MARY alumnus Tristan Risk and the Queen of Halloween, Spooksy DeLune.

After getting soaked in the gushing fake red stuff with two of the city's most beautiful and talented burlesque performers, what can you do to top that? Real blood and there's only one man for the job, the human tackle box, our flesh art consultant from AMERICAN MARY, and one of the coolest guys on the scene, Russ Foxx.

But that is not all. Jen and I fell hard for the performance of one of the standout stars of the film, Rolly Teranishi. Jen got in touch with Rolly's team and was able to get an exclusive to this event opening for the film from Genesis himself, Mr. Rolly Teranishi.

The show was a blast - and the first of many to come. Always with a big show, special surprises, and prizes for those in attendance.

A very huge and humble thanks to everyone who made the event possible, the show a success, and the team at the Rio that always supports the indie flicks and filmmakers. See you guys next month, and for many months to come!

Loved getting to meet so many of you the other night and share a deeply disturbed love of horror. The horror community consists of the best people on the planet - this evening just re-confirmed it.

Twisted Twins rock on in The Province

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

It's a very festive time for all with that whole Christmas thing going full speed ahead since the day after our much beloved Halloween season came to an end. And today is a VERY special day. Three years ago, on December 11th, we incorporated our company, Twisted Twins Productions.

We've come a loooong bloody way to get to where we are and we have to thank from the very bottoms of our Twisted little hearts the friends, family, friends who have become family, fans, crew, and cast that we've had the esteemed pleasure of having in our lives. We are incredibly humbled to be doing what we love and cannot thank you all enough for the kindness, support, and belief you've had in us and our work.

And we promise we're just getting started...

And what better way to celebrate this gore~geous day than from the set of our new beast, AMERICAN MARY. Glen Schaefer of the Province was kind enough to come visit us on set. He's one of the few to have been on location of our newest film that we've been extremely tight lipped about.

Please enjoy the FULL STORY right here!

And check out the on set video RIGHT HERE!

If you're a fellow Vancouver-ite, go grab yourself a copy!!

And thank you all~!! We fuckin' LOVE you and cannot wait to share AMERICAN MARY with the world.

Bloody Best!

Highly Recommended Hooker By Noel

I just found this on review by a very lovely gentleman named Noel Thingvall who is the Co-host, with the equally lovely Eviey aka Evelina Burke, of @hateloveremakes (for you twitterers) or you can go to http://www.ihateloveremakes.com, you can also check out his rad blog here.

I started listening to this review, then I stopped, and started it again with Jen and CJ to check it out too. I'm incredibly touched by this review - it was thoughtful, intelligent, thorough - it's obviously from Noel turn of phrase and confidence in speaking about the genre that he is a true horror aficionado and it is a sincere honor to have had him check out the film and share his thoughts.

If you haven't seen the flick, are thinking about checking it out but don't know what to expect, please watch this brilliant review (above as well) on the flick as Noel has expertly captured the heart of the film. Thank you for your thoughts on DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK, sir!

Thank you to all the girls and boys that have been making this big release a success.
