* Piet Hein (16/12/1905 - 17/04/1996) nasceu em Copenhaga e foi um importante cientista, matemático, inventor, designer, autor e poeta.
De acordo com as suas próprias palavras, costumava jogar ping-pong mental com Niels Bohr, físico dinamarquês, durante o período entre as duas guerras.
Quando a Dinamarca foi ocupada pelas tropas germânicas, viu-se confrontado com um dilema e percebeu que tinha três escolhas possíveis: Fugir para a “neutral” Suécia, nada fazer ou juntar-se ao Movimento Dinamarquês de Resistência.
Como mais tarde veio a explicar: A Suécia estava fora de questão porque ele não era sueco mas sim dinamarquês. Em casa não podia ficar, porque cada vez que lhe batessem à porta iria sentir um calafrio pela espinha acima. Sendo assim, decidiu juntar-se à resistência, usando como principal arma a caneta, com a qual, através de textos imaginativos e subtis (Grooks), conseguiu iludir a censura nazi, incapaz de os compreender.
