All Minnesota

I had been trying all last week to sneak
away to see if the Ladyslippers were
still beautiful...

Saturday morning came bright and early,
it was very warm and humid...

They are nearing the end of their time but
persistence paid off ~ I found some
that were still very beautiful.

I also saw one loon, then two... they were
talking to each other "such a beautiful sound".
I stopped (probably longer than I should have)
using my zoom lense so not to bother either and
then I noticed....   baby fluff - two babies!

Greetings from Minnesota!

Happy Blogiversary...

Happy Anniversary to blogging
to me ~

7 years ago I went out on a limb so to
speak ~ a rather shy, "to myself" type
of person and I started to put things
down in a blog...

It has been quite an adventure!

Flowers, Gardens and Trees

Lineman Son's tree was beautiful - lots of
flowers this year (great for a tree that seems
to be coming to the end of its' time)....

Unfortunately a few days later the tree was
removed due to worms.  The tree
had been damaged by them or another
bug and it was time.

Quite a few years ago, I was lucky to come across
some perennials for sale at garage sales while
down and about the Perham area.  I purchased
a few, planted them and waited.   These purple
and white (I believe Purple and White Bearded
Iris) have really taken off.

They are beautiful - and purple is one
of my favorite colors!

At the same sales, I also bought a "Ed Murray
Lily" - which I didn't think I had any more...
a picture notes its' placement in the
garden back in 2013... hmm I don't recall it
in that spot - I will have to take a good look
down by the rock and see if I can see if it
is still there somewhere.

Many things have changed in the gardens so
this year I am updating my pictures and
identification charts.

I worked on weeding the last flower garden
this week - the perennial garden (this was my
very first garden here at this home).

The trees we planted a few years ago have
some good growth...

The trees look a bit whimsical and
make me smile.

Our yard is looking great ~ nice and green
and things are starting to bloom.   There are
several buds on the peony plants ~ looking
forward to their beauty.

4-Wheelin' and More

We have gotten quite a bit of rain so it was
a good idea to get out on the trails with
the 4-wheelers (less dirt and dust).

We trailered south and headed towards
the Huntersville Forest area.

Thomas (grandson), his dad and birthday
girl, Mommy, all went.

A seat just for Thomas.

Little man, so serious.  (sorry this picture
wouldn't cooperate and place correctly - but
too cute not too use).

We headed down on some road sides and
on some trails, we found a little bit of
mud but for the most it is so sandy in this
area that it was already pretty dusty.

Later Thomas helped birthday girl,
Mommy, open a gift.  He enjoyed the
paper and the box.

While preparations were made for birthday
supper on the grill Thomas and Grandma
played in the daycare playroom.

I even saw that big tooth in the front!

Happy Birthday!

Happy 23rd Birthday to our Daughter!

23 years ago our second child "a little girl"
arrived and added some spice
to our lives!

It certainly doesn't seem like that much
time has gone by ~  you have
accomplished a lot in those 23 years.

We are proud of you!

Rain Rain in Minnesota

Raining pretty steady here ~ not complaining
but I am hoping for some sunshine
over the weekend!
