They Arrived - To Our Yard

The pileated woodpecker which along
with his girl have been
hanging out at my in-laws.

A lone turkey wandered through the
woods right next to the house.

And this generation of acrobats
are back ~

They are such pests.

Our grass is starting to turn green and
soon I will be uncovering some of the
flower beds.

A Finished Project ~ Cabinet

Where did the week go ~ I guess
we have been busy as we wait for
the weather to straighten up and
warm up.

A couple of weeks ago, Hubby finished
this project.

I have been looking for a table
to put my Windmill Pumphouse on to
display it other than on the floor.

Then I remembered this gem that has been
 in the garage, waiting
for a new update.

Many years ago, when Lineman Son was in
4-H he was going to re-do this for one of his
projects and started sanding.

It  belonged to
my maternal grandparents.

There isn't much for details other
than it was remembered to have
always been there.

Hubby dismantled it and started
sanding.  The shelving on the
inside didn't require any work so
that indicated it wasn't used
to any extent.

Then he started his magic in wood
working ~ he found the perfect
matching stain or oil and
finished it up.

My grandfather was born in 1909
so possibly this either belonged to
him or his parents.

We have found information in our
research that these liquor cabinets
were used during the prohibition which
was during the years of 1920 - 1933.

Another possibility is
back in the 1940's my grandfather
also purchased two beautiful cedar
chests so possibly this came from the
same place (but there are no markings
whatsoever on it).

Hubby did a wonderful job on it ~ it
turned out beautiful!

Beautiful Saturday and A Helper

we also had some help, Grand #1

some raking up (of you know what)
and help with the wheelbarrow.

Another Birthday!

 Happy Birthday to my Hubby~

Yesterday was kind of a snow day, the

roads were icy in the morning and we

had a little bit of snow.   It was

a normal work day for both of us

but I made a pumpkin pie for

an after supper dessert.

Birthday snow

Happy Birthday!

Looking back....

Happy Birthday Honey!

Today is my Hubby's birthday -

Hubby has many hobbies - he loves the outdoors - we
have plenty of things we enjoy outside during all
seasons of Minnesota.

He enjoys shopping - not real shopping - the kind of
shopping that some hate - reading up on the product, pros
and cons, etc.   It could be shopping for guy stuff or
when he bought my Christmas camera - he shopped
and studied about cameras for who knows how
long before he made his purchase.   He reads and learns about
the item he is looking for and then shops....

He also like cars, trucks, snowmobiles, and on and on...
he is a kid at heart!

Anything new coming to our place has already
had the once and twice over before the deal
was made and then once it gets home... there
is no rest until it is cleaned, detailed, greased
and lubed if needed.... and so on!

The kids have each gotten there lessons and yes
Mom too (although I have to admit that I am a bit
spoiled - I usually don't have to worry about the vehicles
because Hubby has that all under control)

Happy Birthday -

Happy Birthday To You!

Grand #6

Last Wednesday, April 7th, our sixth

                           grandchild arrived.   A baby boy

joining his two big brothers.

4.8.21 taken by mommy

a blessing to our Daughter and

Son-in-law and to our entire family!

Because of the coronavirus we were not

able to visit at the hospital.

Welcome little one!

Windmill - Another Project

The ol' windmill ~ Mom painted this
canvas back in 2012 (she did a beautiful
job).   After seeing some prints that
dad had framed for her, I got in line.

The frame not only will protect the
canvas but it sure does add to it.

I had a special request to leave the
back side open (no added brown
paper to complete it), you see back in
2012 Mom wrote on it and I wanted
to keep that visible.

And It Rained

Wednesday and today it has rained, we

definitely needed it.

We now have many puddles in the yard,

some mud and lots of mud in parts of

the horse pasture.  And we are

seeing some green!

It is wet but we will take it.

This is before the all day
rain today.

I know the dog dish outside
is almost full of water   :)
(we don't have the rain gauge
out yet).

Easter

Easter 2021

It was a beautiful day.

We didn't make any big plans actually

quite the opposite ~ no plans.

We spontaneously went to

Hubby's folks for lunchWe visited

at the kitchen table and it

was nice ~ it was over a year ago that we

took them out to eat before everything

shut down because of covid.

They have stayed healthy and have

both been able to get the vaccinations

some time ago.

We visited mom and dad ~ they were
both busy one painting and the other
out by the barn.   The pup, Titus,
is getting big (as tall as his brother now).

I raked and we turned on the sprinkler ~ I
had an audience (he is always curious
in what is going on) and

some of us rested under the trees in
the shade (yes it was quite warm in
the sun, I think it was 70 degrees).

Hubby worked on a project ~ I can't wait to
share when he is done.

April Has Arrived

And it arrived very nicely, Friday

and Saturday were quite nice!

We definitely have spring

fever around here.

April brought a Birthday, Grand #4

turned 2 years old~

picture from Mommy

We look forward to celebrating

soon ~ a big celebration since

last year we celebrated remotely.

Signs of Spring~

*Today we opened windows and got

some air going through the house.

*The four legged animals are getting

some clipping and brushing done.

*Crossing things off the spring to-do

list.

*washing and putting away the

every day winter snowpants, etc.

*adding more things to the to-do list

Grand #6 will be arriving any time ~ he

decided to have a birth day of his own

and not share with Grand #4.

Time will tell if he has his own birth day

or if he shares.
