Sister's Day

 It was an afternoon for sisters (I think

it might have been a first).

We met for morning coffee ~ it was a good visit!

Then us girls were off to the lake!

We stopped at a couple of stores

then to lunch.

and you can't beat a walk on the beach

in November  :)

There was a thin layer of ice on the lake

and the sky was sooo blue!

We did get a family picture in 

while the sisters were here.

Thanksgiving 2023

 Thanksgiving Week and Weekend were

full of family time, some work and shopping.

Tuesday was a fun day ~ picking up

the Louisiana sister at the airport.

It was a surprise arrival to the farm ~ it was

successful, mom and dad were surprised.

Many who knew, did a great job keeping

a secret!

For Thanksgiving Dinner we had

turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy,

baked corn, green bean casserole, 

our favorite cookie salad

and raspberry salad and pies.

It was too cold outside so Grands #1, #3 and

#6 played inside.

On the weekend we saw Grands #2, 

#4 and #5.

 It was a busy weekend ~ I did get away

to do some shopping over the thanksgiving

week.

Thanksgiving was a blessing ~ everybody

was healthy and we were

super busy.

Now to catch up ~ and get things

ready for the Christmas season.   Hopefully the

tree will be appearing soon and my

elf arrives to get things wrapped

and decorated!

 It is tradition for the tree to be

lit on the Friday evening after

Thanksgiving!

Grand Christmas Ornaments 2023

I make Christmas Ornaments

with the grands each year, we

started back in 2018.

And Grandma also makes one for her tree.

There was sorting pom poms, little light

bulbs and jingle bells.  

There was planning and designing...

and gluing

and carefully placing the decorations

where they go

and some extra help from the moms,

Some made an extra ornament 

to give away ~ they all did a great job!

Turning 6!

                                   On his Birthday we celebrated  ~ Grand #3

                                                turned 6 years old!

                            It was Game Time and time to celebrate!

Grand #3 has the "last" birthday of

the year of all the grands (until his 

baby brother arrives in late December).

We gathered at a local restaurant, had

something to eat and celebrated (there

was even time for some arcade games

to be played).

Birthday gifts were opened.

Big Brother helped with reading the

cards.

Grand #3 ~ have a great year

being 6!

You will rock it!

Teeter

Teeter loves her people! 

It doesn't take much to become

her people, stop and visit a few times :)

It isn't easy being her people, we

have had to have visitors be quite

stern with her so that she learns

some matters.

But it is ok, she will still love you!

During hunting some of the grands 

were around several days.   She

LOVED it!

There was playing on the hay bales

to be done!

A week later, we were getting ready to go

somewhere and Teeter was let outside.

I couldn't find her, I called for her a couple

of times (this was unlike her), walked down

the driveway to check.   Hubby came out  ~

No Teeter.

 Hubby found her!    Apparently

she was just sitting and "waiting"

for her playmates.   :)

 

Goodbye October

Wow, November is speeding on along ~

we said goodbye to October and

it seems like we have been busy

since.

October we celebrated Grand #5's

Birthday. (it was a little late but

the weather was still good).

The three family members who had surgery

in Sept are now recovered (some doing therapy) and

all back to work.

One of the sisters had another

surgery (her knee) and is doing

therapy for that.

Dad had his 2nd surgery 

on his neck and recovery 

on that has gone well.  We are happy

that these surgeries are behind us.

October came in with really warm

weather and left us with quite

cold weather ~ extra clothing was

needed for Trick or Treating it

was so chilly!

Deer Hunting 2023 (Weekend #2)

The last weekend of deer

hunting arrived. 

Friday was a good day to take

the kids (the weather has really

been pretty good)

Grand #2 went with Grandpa ~ he

did great because they had a

pretty long walk to get to

the deerstand (they did it twice).

(they stopped on the way, to

see Great Grandpa)

Grand #4 went for the first

time with her

daddy (she was so excited to

go like her brother).

And Grand #5 helped watch the

caramel rolls!

It was a fun weekend ~ the shop was

busy with eating, visiting and playing!

The grands played on the hay playground

with Teeter...

And cousins played too...

Saturday night we did our annual 

Pizza Party and

Sunday we did the butchering and

packaging (it didn't take long

with just one to process).

Another gathering in the books ~ what

fun it was!   Both weekends we

had family, friends and some extended

family join us.
