Game Camera

The game camera was busy the
end of October....

maybe they were heading west for
the winter  :)

And just before deer hunting we had
some activity...

They must have traveled on too
or possibly it is the same buck.

Sure is fun to see the animals on the
cameras.

Traditions ~ Purple Car

Hubby's purple childhood car is
on display, it has dents and scratches
and parts that are missing but....

we have taken pictures of the
grands with it, it was time for
Grand #7's turn.

It didn't take long for him to figure
it out.

Then Cousin helped out.

We have gathered pictures over the
years of family members giving
it a good drive.

:)   This is where it started  :)

Birthday!

There was a birthday on Tuesday ~ the
local Pizza Ranch (which is new) lets
kids eat free with a paid adult.

We joined Grand #3's family for
supper ~ the place was crowded and
by luck we were able to use one of
the rooms.

It was his 8th Birthday!   He had
a spectacular day!

Since it was a school day, there
will be a party later.

Happy Birthday Grand #3!

Shopping - Holidays

Finally the holidays are about
here.

October 9th when shopping,
our local store had all
seasons.....

There were Halloween items,
pumpkins and Christmas.

And the store was playing their
daily music while the back area
was playing Christmas music.

Kinda crazy!

Hunting (2nd Weekend)

The 2nd weekend ~ Grand

#3 went out with grandpa,

it was his first time.

The hunting shack, grandpa and
deer.   :)

It is a great experience learning how
hunting goes  (and so many things
that are part of it including snacks).

The first afternoon
was 60 plus degrees - a beautiful day.

We had shop visitors in evening, our
friends from town (they brought out
pizza).

the next morning, up early and
heading out.  The morning was much
cooler but not as cold as the first
weekend.

It was small group this weekend,
when they came in for late breakfast
(lunch) there were caramel rolls
and soup waiting.

It was an uneventful hunt getting
deer but the experiences the last two
weekends and spending time with
family and friends is always
worth it.

It is a fun time!

The off season will be full of plans/
changes to the deer shacks.  Doing
some more practice / pretarget learning
and shooting with grands that are ready.

Until next year....

Northern Lights

 The Northern Lights were bright

and out two nights in a row.

The first night, I was on my way
home and could see them with my
eyes...  I pulled over by the cemetery
and took these pictures.

The little light on the right is
neighbor Wilson's farm.

~~~~
The next night, I went outside with
all of the lights off to see if I could
capture them with my cellphone.
Staying in the yard amongst the
pine trees usually doesn't work
very well.   But I was able to
capture them at the tree line.
I have just started to search out the
lights as I have never really seen
them until this past year or so.
The reddish color the first night
is the most colorful lights I have
seen.
Maybe some day, I will see the purples
dancing in the sky.
Hunting Weekend (continued)
 The weekend arrived and it
was cold.  The temps were in the teens,
twenties and it was windy.
The morning hunters!
In the afternoon, they came in for rolls,
rolls and soup!
In the afternoon, the second wave
of hunters arrived.
They headed out to dad's stand
and all fit!  It was Grand #5's first
time sitting in the stand.
In the evening, hunters and other
family gathered for more soup and
pizza.
And some cousin time.
It was a whirlwind but we had
everybody together for a handful
of hours.
Sunday, bright and early, the
hunters returned
to their stands.
Part of the hunting group headed
home on Sunday afternoon, there
was school and work waiting
on Monday.
The rest of the hunters hunted
the first couple days of the
week.
Saturday - Buck sightings
               Doe sightings
No deer taken.
