Tried before Memorial Day to get some
"clean up" done at the cemeteries... Mid-May,
Hubby and I, did the drive by...
Cemetery #1 my paternal side
Isn't too much to be done ~ touch up the
mowing when we stop (it doesn't always look so good),
we will clip the long grass
we will clip the long grass
around the headstone, some weeding and then
some finishing touches.
All faded "fake" items will be removed ~ I am
not a fan of fake decorations and definitely not a fan
of fake that has been left and forgotten so is now
all faded and no longer fake beautiful.
Drive continued to Cemetery #2 my maternal side
This will be more of a challenge - the markers need
to have the grass on the edges removed (as it is
starting to grow over the markers)... and a list is
being made.

The grass had been mowed recently ~ we got
busy weeding and doing some edging.
We touched up the mowing and then also
did the Luce area next door (it doesn't
appear that anybody visits).

We then checked out the cemetery
recordkeeping (last updated Sept. 2013)
and took a stroll around the grounds.
We found a time capsule that is buried
with a very nice marker - I will never
see it be opened. It is dated to be
opened when I am 124 years old.
