Diver Dan was a series of 104 seven-minute live-action shorts made for children's television. Made by Brian Cartoons, it was syndicated (mainly to NBC affiliates) and distributed by ITC Entertainment. The shows were sometimes re-edited into half-hour (including commercials) blocks by local stations.

The series featured the adventures of a diver in an old-fashioned diving suit who talked to the passing fish. The series was filmed in live action with puppet fish; the underwater effect was achieved by shooting through an aquarium.

The characters included Diver Dan and Miss Minerva, the Captain (heard but not seen), and a puppet cast including the villainous Baron Barracuda, his henchman Trigger (a trigger fish), Finley Haddock, Doc Sturgeon, Georgie Porgy, Gabby the Clam, Gill Espy, Glow Fish, Goldie the Goldfish (who spoke only in peeps and squeaks), Hermit Crab, Sam the Sawfish, Scout Fish, Sea Biscuit the Seahorse and Skipper Kipper.

One of the running gags in the series was for Trigger to refer to the Baron as "Boss", at which the Baron would get angry and say some variation of, "Call me Baron, you idiot!" — to which Trigger would reply, "Okay, Baron you idiot".

Baron Barracuda wore a monocle in one eye, and spoke in a vaguely European accent. Trigger always had an apparently unlit cigarette jutting from the side of his mouth.

The series was not immune to ethnic stereotypes: One of the undersea characters was Scout Fish, who carried a tomahawk and always spoke in pidgin-Indian dialect. He occasionally used his tomahawk to extricate Diver Dan from seaweed (in the Sargasso Sea), fishing nets, or some nefarious trap. - wiki

ZT- Fun and yet creepy kids show. I think a stiff drink (or whatever you preffer) is needed for the 'proper expierence' with this show, but that's just my reccommendation. I'm sure PeeWee Herman must have seen this show as a kid.

Ensign O'Toole is a military comedy that aired on NBC from September 23, 1962, to May 5, 1963, with 31-year-old Dean Jones in the title role of a nonchalant Navy ensign during the early 1960s. Jones, born in 1931 in Alabama and a Navy veteran of the Korean War, played an officer aboard the destroyer U.S.S. Appleby, which roamed the Pacific Ocean.

Goodbye Grasshopper

we lost David Carradine yesterday - he will be missed.

David holds a dear place in my heart not only for the movies like Kill Bill and Death Race2000 but for his hit tv show Kungfu. Also for those who didnt know he was the son of legendary horror/scifi actor John Carradine.

Not only did it give me hours of entertainment it also helped to plant the seed of Asian religions in my head as a youngster. You see growing up in a semiclose minded christian family i didnt get much info on other religions as a youngster (yes folks im actually a 6'3" white guy from oregon usa - sorry to blow any preconceived notions brought on by the nicname) I cant say the show turned me into a Buddhist by any stretch but it did open my eyes and later in life when i did start to study philosophy the transition to Asian thought was a little easier when i thought of ol' grasshoppper.
