These two short stories are actually the same story with differences in the story line. These are very obscure and have only appeared in ancient pulp magazines and even scarcer Burrroughs Bibliophiles Publications (The OLD series). Sorry that these are from Xerox copies, but still very readable.

This is real obscurity here folks, and I just opened the sealed protector bag to scan it for you! Ain't I nice? This was published in 1974 by Shroud publishers. It says it's a first edition, but it isn't. It was originally printed in a limited run with "Beyond Thirty" years earlier. This item has not seen the light of day since then (as least as far as I know!)

MOVIE: Tarzan of the Apes (1918)
we've got another History making film here - the 1918 version of Tarzan
The plot follows the novel more closely than does any other Tarzan movie. John and Alice Clayton take ship for Africa. Mutineers maroon them. After his parents die the newborn Tarzan is taken by a great Ape, Kala. Later the boy finds his father's knife and uses it to become King of Apes. Binns, the sailor who saved the Claytons and who has been held by Arab slavers for ten years, finds the young Tarzan and then heads for England to notify his kin. A scientist arrives to check out Binns' story. Tarzan, now a man, kills the native who killed Kala; when their chief is killed the black villagers appease Tarzan with gifts and prayers. The scientist's daughter Jane is carried off by a native, rescued by Tarzan (who has burnt the native village), aggressively loved by him ("Tarzan is a man, and men do not force the love of women"), and at last accepts him with open arms.

THE TARZAN-THRILL OF ALL TIME!
Tarzan's Revenge (1938) is an adventure film starring Glenn Morris in his only outing as Tarzan. Eleanor Holm, a popular swimming star, co-starred as Eleanor Reed. The movie was produced by Sol Lesser, written by R. Lee Johnson and Jay Vann (based on the character created by Edgar Rice Burroughs) and directed by D. Ross Lederman. It was released on January 7, 1938.

Plot
Eleanor and her parents are hunting big game, acompanied by her wimpish fiance. Ben lleu Bey wants to add her to his 100-woman harem. Tarzan wants her too. "Tarzan's Revenge" provided filmgoers with second-rate Tarzan fare, during a nearly three year wait between Weissmuller movies.
