Recommendation: The War Of The Stars: A New Hope Grindhouse

Not for 'pureists' but if your a fan of Grindhouse films and a fan of Star Wars i have come across the greatest thing ever - Star Wars the grindhouse edition fanedit! Complete reworking of the original tale with Grindhouse cuts and scratches added to a newly edited film. Deleted scenes and alternate takes are used along with behind the scene clips and also edits from other stuff like 'Troops'. This has been lovingly done by the Man Behind the Mask. Now youll want to expect a true grindhouse experience complete with a projection room burnout of the film which is followed by a reel in black and white. Some additional effects (like a few bloody laser shots) and also a appearance by Neil Young in the canteena make for a fun filled flashback which you think you may have seen before but it was never like this.

even if you didnt like the original Star Wars (you heathen) give this a try. Its available at some sites and also on torrents - go search it out, youll be glad you did. How often can one wonder if you just saw jeans on R2d2? That question will be answered within!

What a hoot!

Music: The Cramps

Fans of the Cramps will love this blog.
For those who dont know -

The Cramps were an American garage punk band formed in 1976 and active until 2009, with the death of lead singer Lux Interior.[1] Their line-up rotated much over their existence, with the husband and wife duo of Interior and lead guitarist Poison Ivy the only permanent members. Guitarist Bryan Gregory and drummer Pam Ballam rounded out the first complete lineup in April 1976.

They were part of the early CBGB punk rock movement that had emerged in New York. The Cramps are noted as influencing a number of musical styles: not only are they one of the first garage punk bands but also by being the first known band to blend punk rock with rockabilly, The Cramps are widely recognized as one of the prime innovators of psychobilly, and they inspired many of the early goth rock bands.~wiki

Tool:RapidShare Downloader

This program has been around for awhile but my old computer (from 1998) had conflicts with it so I never used it till last night. I was so impressed that I decided to give a recommendation for it.(over 40 downloads last night!!! best ratio ive ever gotten from RS)If you don't have a Rapidshare premium account but still need to download a .cbr or two every now and then? There's a program called Rapishare Downloader, which was programmed by someone with similar problems, namely, that there never seem to be download slots available for free users.

It's very simple and free. Simply add the url's to the programme's download queue and let it work quietly in the background. It doesn't do anything fancy like bypass the 15-minute waits or fool RS to think you have a premium account, but it's persistent and asks once a minute if there's a download slot available and if there is, it waits for the countdown and then downloads the file. You can make as long a queue of files to be downloaded as you like, and not bother with the actual work yourself. (It works best if you let it work at night, when there are always slots available. It does do a decent other times also).

note: check your download links before you add them to the queue. If there's a link to a deleted file, Rapidshare Downloader will try persistently but in vain to download it.

download it from here

You gotta go to Psychoville

This is just a heads up personal recommendation from me. This was the best new series I have seen in awhile and had to give it some notice.
If you love Scifi/fantasy/horror/comedy/camp then you gotta see this. Im sure most UK folks have heard of this series but for us across the pond its gone for the most part undercover.

OK a brief what not on the series: The cast contains - a 'little person' with Carrie like powers. a mental mother and son team. a woman who thinks her doll is alive. a crazy fowl mouthed clown and more!

Games: X Box is cheap now

Hey folks!
I just wanted to give a heads up on the X Box game system. First off I must say I haven't been much of a gamer for nearly 10 years - although in my youth I spent many a quarter on stand up games in the 80s and then later hundreds if not thousands of hours spent on home systems like Atari,Nintendo,Sega. (not to mention my real early years spent on my uncles Pong tv game) Well I must admit I slowed to a stop around 2000. After that I only played the PS game 'Hot Shots' (a golf game) for nearly 10 years - I never purchased the PS2 or3 and havent tried the xbox or xbox 360 (non the less the Wii) Till now..

As a gift from a childhood friend I received a Xbox when my son Thor was recently born. He picked up a refurbished system for under 50$ and then had found a ton of games under$5. and hooked me up with several used game shops were I have now found many titles for $1,$2 and 5. I have been pleasantly pleased with many of the titles and blown away by some graphics on this system (even after seeing the newer systems which sell for 700% I must say I like this system!)

The purpose for this post is just to give you heads up that these deals might me in your neighborhood too. take a peek around and pick up a system and probably 20 games for the price of one or two newer games. If you havent grabbed a system for yourself in awhile give this a shot. (If you have younger kids I say grab this sytem and probably 100 games for the price of a newer PS3 and 1 game! - your kids will love you for it) - the xbox 360 is a little more expensive but it plays the older games too (all that ive seen so far) and is a nice way to get the newest games and still have a chance to buy these older titles and play them on the same system.

a few titles that i thought were great and you should check out. - all of these I picked up for 5$ or less and would have payed much much more for them.(although with a baby in the house these older games are all i will be able to afford for a bit)

Peter jacksons King Kong - a great playable version of King Kong! You even get to play the great ape in some scenes - cool stuff.

John Carpenters the Thing. This takes off from where the movie stopped - good fun!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - I wasnt expecting much for this title when i picked it up for $1 - boy was i surprised!

Gun - a mature western themed game.. a must see!

Thief (and thief deadly shadows) - You play a thief in a midievel fantasy land. Get your pick pocket on!

Matrix Path of Neo - fun movie inspired game

Tiger Woods. - Ive seen several version (2003-2007) personaly i loved 2005 but all were worth playing

Scooby Doo 1000 fright - fun scooby stuff

Fight Night (1-3) great boxing games - filled with famous boxers.

Dark Watch - a vampire western? fun stuff

ok enough praise for video games... back to the other stuff!
