There is probably too much clean singing on this album for the majority of death metal fans and I have to admit that I was fairly disappointed with this disc back in '99 as I wanted something more aggressive but over the years I have grown to appreciate this more than upon first hearing it. If you are an open-minded melo-death fan, then you may learn to appreciate this as well.

Gardenian came into being during the latter part of the Gothenburg scene at the end of the '90s, and while they were probably not one of the better-known bands from that scene, I did think this was a pretty good debut effort.
