Avernal is not a band that I have listened to a lot over the years, even though they have been at it since 1993. However, I do like their 2016 album, and this new one is really hitting me pretty hard as well. Metal-Archives states that they are tagged as death-n-roll here in later years, but I am not hearing any of that on this disc, just thrashing death metal.

This album showed up on my Bandcamp feed the other day, and I can't tell you how pleasantly surprised I was to see it. Their 2022 album is still a favorite of mine that I go back to from time to time (thanks to our Goa trance fiend Unbound for the heads up on that one). After one complete listen, I can confidently state that we have another quality offering from this South American band.

I have had their 2015 album since it was released and I have always liked it but didn't listen to it a lot. Now, I discovered this disc a few weeks ago and it is a definite step up in production and quality. I can't wait to hear more from these guys and they are due but I don't see any social media activity from them.
