Luckily, this album appeared as I had not listened to it in quite some time and I was quickly reminded just how good this is. They have a self-titled 2017 release that is good as well. I remember these guys used to get ripped apart by the death metal purists and a lot of reviewers in general but I liked this album and Ruination back then. I saw these guys on tour for this album and was impressed by their live set, so I bought this CD at the show but never posted it here. Now, 12 years later their newest album Moon Healer is their best work yet in my opinion and it made me want to put this up finally.

I really liked this disc when it first came out back in 2012. It is heavy and dark and the only knock I have on this is the programmed drums but they don't sound bad. This was also one of the first Costa Rican bands that I was aware of. My own CD rip + scans \m/\m/

So, I was on my lunch break at work the other day doing what I usually do at lunch, surfing YouTube, and I came across this band called First Degree Murder. The caption under the video stated that it was an unreleased album from 2012. I began listening to it and I liked what I heard so I went to Metal-Archives and I found a band with the same name but they are a slam band and not my style at all. I reached out to the guy who posted the video, Simon, who also performs vocals and guitars on this album and he graciously sent me the album and permission to post it here. It seems that during the production process for this album, the band members became uncertain about the quality of the songs they had created and decided not to release the album. I think that was a mistake because even though these tracks are over 10 years old they sound very good to me and it is obvious that these 4 guys had talent and played well together. Unfortunately, the band would split up in 2016 and this would be their final opus but I am glad that the YouTube algorithm put this on my path because Beyond Salvation is a good album and I am happy to have finally experienced it \m/\m/
