Lineage: FM > Reel > Dat > SIAE CD #SCONC.22 > Flac > You

Original Taper\Trader's Notes: Home for New Years Eve, the Grateful Dead are fresh and full of energy and perform a "Killer" show before the hometown crowd. Bill Graham reminds us during this show, that the GRATEFUL DEAD would contact FM Radio stations in the cities where they performed and make arrangements for their concerts to be broadcast on the radio "live & in stereo" for all their fans to enjoy. If you couldn't afford a ticket or get to the show, all you had to do is just turn on your radio and listen to the show for free.
This is a PIGPEN & KEITH show! Pigpen does a wonderful job on "The Same Thing". Nice to hear the GRATEFUL DEAD play the "blues". For a bunch of banjo pickers they somehow got a hold of some real blues licks and chops, must be talent. Garcia makes his guitar "talk" with his slide. Five stars for the mix, recording, performance, transfer, & "dance-ability". This is a "Must Have" show for all collectors of 1971 GRATEFUL DEAD. Solid, "In the Pocket" performances of all our favorite 71' songs with Pigpen and Keith.

Enjoy the show. It is an excellent show, and has never been commercially released. Got this in trade this last summer. There was no artwork included except the picture of the CD.

Included on Boot:
1. Dancin' In The Streets,
2. Brown Eyed Women,
3. China Cat Sunflower-> I Know You Rider,
4. Loser,
4. Ramble On Rose,
5. Sugar Magnolia,
6. Not Fade Away-> Goin' Down The Road Feelin' Bad-> Not Fade Away,

Hunter Thompson - Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas

Hunter S. Thompson - Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas
@pdf

We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold. I remember saying something like “I feel a bit lightheaded; maybe you should drive…” And suddenly there was a terrible roar all around us and the sky was full of what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, which was going about a hundred miles an hour with the top down to Las Vegas. And a voice was screaming: “Holy Jesus! What are these goddamn animals?” Then it was quiet again. My attorney had taken his shirt off and was pouring beer on his chest, to facilitate the tanning process. “What the hell are you yelling about?” he muttered, staring up at the sun with his eyes closed and covered with wraparound Spanish sunglasses. “Never mind,” I said. “It’s your turn to drive.” I hit the brakes and aimed the Great Red Shark toward the shoulder of the highway. No point mentioning those bats, I thought. The poor bastard will see them soon.

Your chance to read this again...or maybe for the first time. A trip into Hunter S. Thompson's view of our world.

Robben Ford - The Plant - KFOG-FM - 2002

A Draftervoi original....

One more from my collection of shows I taped from local radio. Robben Ford works in a blues-rock style, but with a bit of jazz thrown into the mix. He has worked with artists such as George Harrison on his '74 tour, Joni Mitchell, and Miles Davis, and has been nominated for four Grammy award.

Sound quality is excellent; this is right off my high-bias metal master tape.
