28mm Old West "The Good, The Bad and the Ray?"....

...and an attempt at stubble, unshaved, 5 o'clock shadow, etc..........and a cowgirl!

28mm set of figures "Il Buono, Il Brutto ed Il Cattivo"  from Artizan Designs and a picture to prove Ray has a Mexican/Tuco fetish....

....after that horrifying picture I give you this to sooth your eyes!

28mm Painted Thunder Boxes or Dunny or Outhouse or Privy or Earth Closet or...............

........even Cr**per if you prefer! Many names for an essential piece of woodwork found between the 18th and 20th century in Europe, North America, South Africa, Australia or nearly anywhere you had to go!

They come from 4Ground, you get 4 in the pack, MDF and not too hard to make.

28mm appropriately attired Foundry figure to help show size and scale.......

28mm Wild West Poker Tables and Players,.....

.......Aces and Eights or a Dead Man's Hand wins, I wasn't aware that Texas Hold Em wasn't invented/created until the early 1900's but didn't gain wider recognition until 1967 but had been seen in 1959 or that would have been my reference.

Nice set of figures from Dixon Miniatures.

The dead man's hand is credited to James Butler Hickok (Wild Bill) when he was murdered in 1876 by Jack McCall playing poker and this hand (black aces and eights, although there have many other hands stated until this one was finally credited) was retrieved later from the floor.

A quieter game........

The figures are from Eureka Minis, not bad sculpts..............

28mm Foundry Wild West Citizens arrive in Angry.

Most of these were picked up in a cheap bundle on eBay to start populating the town of Angry and for the painting challenge as well, I still have a soft spot for a good Foundry figure.........well I think they're all Foundry figures (I think Wild Bill is from Artizan)!

28mm Painted Black Flag Wild West Townsfolk.

While hunting around for townsfolk and citizen figures for my wild west town of Angry I stumbled upon these while ordering a gallows from Black Flag, not bad at all, very little flash, quite easy to paint and welcome in the town as long as they do as they're told and pay their taxes!

Even more 28mm Old West Buildings and Outdoor Plumbing for Angry!

The last of the painted Hovels Wild West buildings I got in the deal, lovely stuff but the roofs don't come off so really just lovely scenery but then I'm a scenery junkie and you can't not like the outdoor plumbing.

It's so cold here tonight that Ray has switched the heating on in the bathroom 15 minutes before going for a movement.....he needs to man the feck up!

More 28mm Old West Buildings open for business in Angry!

Back at work for the first time in 2013, first MaccyD breakfast of the year (yum but don't tell Ray's missus as he'll get in trouble), actually painting Perry ACW Union figures for the challenge but have some old west buildings for the up and coming town of Angry. Have found out from comments here and TMP that they are actually Hovels buildings, lovely stuff but the downside is only some of their range have lift off roofs but what can you do!

28mm Wild West "Grand Hotel" in the town of Angry!

Back to flaming work, I was ill all my annual leave and fecking Christmas, it's Ray's fecking fault coughing and sneezing all over the car and gatehouse before Christmas the bleeding typhoid Mary!, got nothing done, sneezing like an allergic cat owner, cost too fecking much for too fecking little, more phlegm than a stutterers convention, explosive coughing fits and more snot than 12 kindergartens!!!!!!!

Here endeth the rant........

A lovely painted building among with others I acquired before Christmas by swapping something the previous owner wanted and behold one of the first buildings for my town of "Angry" down south (bleeding hot though), don't know the company though?

Not a large hotel but I've bought some poker tables and a piano with some patrons..........

3rd Annual Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge....and "Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war" again!

It's that time of year again over at Curts blog ( Canadian Thor look-a-like!) and a fellow reject and he has launched his annual painting challenge (otherwise known as Ray's cheating challenge), I'll be honest that I didn't want to enter this year, the painting funk and I'll probably be out of a job before the end of the challenge doesn't help but then I got over myself and entered with a project I've been collecting/hoarding for quite a few months now....

......a 28mm ACW/Wild West skirmish period, Outlaw Josey Wales meets True Grit and takes a turn at The Horse Soldiers with a pinch of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly!

There's a few new rules (I think), new points system (I believe) but no rule regarding cheating shites (Ray!) but at least the 20% extra Reject point bonus should be in effect this year (Curt still remembers the pasta and t-shirt) but Ray is exempt and I will be watching the rule bending, pre-painted, not my figures cheating work dodging Ironsides git for all other participants, I feel it's my duty!

Plastic and metal goodness........

May not make it until the end but let's paint it like we stole it people (..like Ray!).
