Old Stuff Day as well, if a little late..........

...only because Ray has nagged me and my Apaches are drying!

Warhammer 39999 proposed an idea over at his blog.............

"This is why I’m proposing all bloggers highlight the content they’re most proud of on March 2nd (yes I'm a little late) in celebration of “Old Stuff Day.” On this day, each blogger can go through their history and find posts that they’d like to shake the dust off and present again to the community at large. Some suggestions for content that would be good to post:
Posts that you considered special that didn’t receive as much attention as you thought they deserved
Content that people liked in the past, but haven’t seen recently
Posts you might have created before your site received much traffic, and now deserve to be re-shown
Or any content you’re particularly proud of!"

My first thought of a post was when I looked in the mirror today and smiled and one side of my face didn't move and it reminded me of my post on that day over two years ago Bell's Palsy and Standardised Hand Signals for Close Range Engagement, I've tried to communicate with the missus this way.....no chance!

The second one is still my favourite story Chilli Tasting Competition Story with two comments from two and a half years ago........

The third is a 15mm Crimean War Battle Report from over two years ago with seven comments.....

What this has really done as well is to show all the bloggers who have disappeared over the couple of years, a lot of them sadly missed!

The are two competitions over at The Wargaming Site and Dux Homunculorum, don't be two disappointed when I win!

Bell's Palsy and Standardized Hand Signals for Close Range Engagement.

When I watch Hollywood action movies involving SWAT and the numerous military organisations you see a lot of hand signals flashing between the members of squads that signify some quiet unspoken message to other team members and never knew what some of them meant but now I do ( well I hope I do, the list was valid I believe in 2008).

So I'm trying to introduce this to the security team at work but I'm meeting some resistance (gits) but it has other uses like with paintball so you look like your mercenaries on a day out or on one of those sad team building exercises and you end up as the focus of attention for every other team building group who would rather be back at their desks instead of being a paintball magnet (paintballs leave stunning bruises and that no headshot rule is rarely enforced if they can't find the culprit).

On a lighter note my knees are a lot better but yesterday I was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell's_palsy which basically means partial facial paralysis and is a bit of an inconvenience but shouldn't affect my posting because you can't show slurring in your typing or drooling but I'm taking the meds and taping my eye shut at night (weird) and should if I'm lucky show significant improvement in a couple of weeks and full recovery in a couple of months. But at the moment because Bell's palsy is difficult to explain I am now going to explain it as a botched botox procedure that went south (literally). There is no medical reason for getting it, it just happens and the medical community has no real reason why it happens but I believe being this angry will help as I start to shout at it and scare it away and its not contagious (damn).
