A Knackered Reject at Salute Part 2 of 2.............

.......the burning retinas phase of the day and some small purchases!

I must admit the day became a blur, I picked up most of the stuff on my list quite early, Ironclad Miniatures Steam Tanks, GZG new stuff, Sprays, Paint, Flock, Antenocitis Workshop (not planned or budgeted), Fireforge Plastics, Warbases, a few figures from Hasslefree and Peter Pig....I think.

I had a list and still came away forgetting to get something!!!!!!

I went to one trader for 2 small packs of new figures quite early but they didn't have many cast as they didn't think they'd be popular (wouldn't even offer to post them on), they never heard of the internet?

Ray even found the ACW Fremantle figure I've been looking for...and paid for it!!!!!

A good show still despite what I've heard from some quarters (bad acoustics?????), a hot muggy show, the layout fecked me over once or twice and I could be seen looking in the map guide for a trader but then I was knackered, the games whether participation or demonstration are great but I go to show for figure, stock and scenery buying, I take pictures for my blog and others to see who couldn't make it but primarily for traders.

Who doesn't like to look at a figure in the flesh before buying it?

Started a small list that night of stuff I still need!

Next year we're thinking of going to different shows especially like Triples or Partizan!

Some more pictures from great looking games..........

Some of the bloggers at the meet up, who is that handsome chap at the back?

30 Seconds to Dog Green from the Abingdon Wargames Club.

Oshiro ModelTerrain and Red Planet Miniatures "The Siege of New Victoria"

This figure reminded me of the welcome some gamers may recieve and I called it "Bag Check".

This is the game from the South London Warlords "Hammering Route 66"

"To Berlin" from the Chemins De Feu Club.

"Stalingrad 1942, The Rat War" from Arbuthnot's Terra Firma League of Gentlemen

A Knackered Reject at Salute 2013 part 1 of 2.......

Knackered: "Exhausted, Broken, Malfunctional, Tired or Sleepy....."

After finishing work and 2 hours and 11 minutes sleep later the Rejects (Ray, Myself and Postie) headed to Salute 2013, got there and into the long fecking cash queue (next year if I go it will be a pre paid ticket or nothing) about 0950hrs and got into the fecking show at 1040hrs!

A fecking tiring day but a good day, didn't get everything I wanted but that's just the stupidity and tiredness talking, met a lot of fellow bloggers and people who just followed my blog but didn't have a blog stopping me and saying so (not as scary as people think), so knackered at the end (we left about 1620hrs but didn't get home for ages as Ray got us lost in a housing estate somewhere near the venue).

Salute 2013 looked the busiest I've ever seen it and hopefully was good for the traders who attended, now it's been mentioned that Salute should or could be over 2 days, now if it was over two days I would still only go to the first day (international visitors would probably prefer 2 days) but if it was me I would recommend that it was on for longer like 0900hrs until 1800hrs (long I know but it's a one day hit) but that's just my opinion.

The fecking queue.......

Andrew (Loki) helping out at Warbases, don't forget his giveaway........

....but then to me the best demonstration game at the show (I will show other stuff tomorrow), simply stunning, full of figures but loads of beautiful little vignettes.

I give you from the Essex Gamesters, I actually took more pictures but they didn't turn out great.....WATERLOO 1815, The Emperor Speaks!

....so tomorrow pictures of some of the other games, bloggers, figures and possibly loot but my other half actually reads my blog!
