I coud do with a tasty Thai dish right now...
It's lovely and sunny today, but nothing tropical.
It is, however, New Year in South-East Asia! Apparently, the historical Hindu calendar is based upon the movement of the sun in relation to the stars rather than (like ours in the West) the length of day, so their new year starts with the sun's entry into the constellation of Aries, and festivities known as Mesha Sankranti and Songkran are celebrated across the region - in Nepal, parts of India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and China, and in Burma/Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand.
So let's don our fancy gold hats and practice those pointy-dance moves and get moving! Strike a pose; there's nothing to it...
I need a lie down now.
