Katong Delights @ Figaro St, Singapore.

Fancy some nyonya food in the east coast? Check out Katong Delights, was here for lunch.

Ordered asam fish and otah. Oh my they use patin fish, fatty fish and the asam cuts right to it. Was a good pairing. The otah was another great dish. Nice!

Jia Li Mian Noodle House @ Pandan Jaya, KL, Malaysia.

Friend brought us here for lunch, said it's as close as the real deal in Penang. I'm like yeah, whatever, another one.

So, the Penang curry mee is the white curry mee. They also have the KL style curry mee and some other noodles.

Both of em ordered the Penang curry mee, I had a spoonful of the broth. Good stuff. We also ordered some lor bak and otah to share. Quite good, if only I came before hand on an empty stomach, sigh.

And yours truly as usual, I had the asam laksa. Oh my, as of now, I think this is my personal favourite joint for asam laksa in KL. The bomb! This is one mean bowl of asam laksa, portions were good, umami, sour, spicy, sweating while having each spoonful, ahhhh. I'm a happy person after this. We did a few take away session after this as it was MCO, out of 5 only 1 time I ordered the penang curry mee. The Penang curry mee is also freaking good but i'm a sucker for asam laksa every time I see one.

Nam San Mackerel Otah @ Joo Chiat Road, Singapore.

Came here did a quick tapau of some otahs and nasi lemak.

They have a few tables inside if you prefer to dine in.

Nasi lemak came in a decent portion. Sambal was not bad, satisfied my cravings. This place is famous for its otah. I had 3 different versions of otah, and it all tasted good. Simple breakfast and awesome otah.

Mee Rebus Stulang Laut @ JB, Malaysia.

Yeah, back in JB for a quick errand run, and managed to check the famous mee rebus at stulang laut. The place has changed name but luckily the mee rebus stall is the original one. There's actually a few stalls selling different stuff which I'll make it a point to try next time. I kinda like the atmosphere here, a bit laid back, no frills and overlooking the Tebrau Straits.

The infamous mee rebus, portion a bit small (but hey more of other nibbles I can try), the gravy is not thick, I normally get jelak easily. Love the crunchy bits on top. Not bad at all.

Some otah and pepes to share. My first time actually trying pepes, it's actually like an otah, but instead of seafood, they used chicken. Good stuff, I kinda loved the pepes more actually.

Bright red otah anyone? And if i'm not mistaken they have satar as well, definitely would be back to try those! A good place to chill out, local food, and have a decent conversation with friends, while watching the world passes by.
