Restoran Teochew & Hakka, Ampang @ Selangor, Malaysia.

Somebody pointed out to me for a hainanese chicken chop in Ampang. Been back here a couple of times, am sure that speaks for itself.

The chicken chop was a delight. They had a chap fan thingy going on for lunch as well, so I chose that second round I was here. Food is good, they clearly put some love in the food they serve.

Fat Tea Macanese Food @ Damansara Perdana, PJ, Selangor, Malaysia.

Fancy some Macanese food in PJ? You should check out this place in Damansara Perdana.

I had the piri piri chicken, superb. This is one wholesome meal.

I tasted a bit of my friend's beef stew, oh my this is such a comforting dish. I'll definitely order this on my own next round. Super rich and thick stew, perfect on a cold rainy day.

And stole a bit of minchi from my other lunch date, another good stuff! If you're lacking on carbs, this is the perfect 1 bowl meal. I really enjoyed my lunch here.

Kedai Makanan Hailam Sun Sun Nam Cheong @ Kuala Kubu Baru, Selangor, Malaysia.

I'm still on a prowl for a mean Hainanese chicken chop. So when a friend texted on a random weekend asking to go this Hainam kopi tiam in KKB, I was delighted to check it out.

We ordered a mee hailam to share and one chicken chop each. Food was good, but I'm still on the hunt for the old school taste of a Hainam chicken chop. Not sure whether ingredients has changed, or the cooking style or maybe it's just the commercial farmed chicken.

Oh they also sell nasi lemak packet, decent.

Ahh-Yum by Kampong Kravers @ Damansara Heights, KL, Malaysia.

If you're looking for a decent place with affordable pricing for some Malaysian local food, this fits the bill.

Portions were generous, good lunch spot. I highly recommend the cucur udang(or was it sayur) and the chokodok. Lovely.

Restoran Sin Kee @ Brickfields, KL, Malaysia.

Haven't had a Hainanese chicken chop for quite some time, friend brought us here for lunch.

There were three of us, we decided to order some dishes to share.

Chicken chop looks messy but it tasted damn good! The fried omelette was nice.

So the mun fan here is the favourite, seems almost every table ordered this dish. We also ordered a hokkien mee.

Verdict, I like the food here, seems some people said the standard has gone down. Oh well, if I ever have a craving for a hainanese chicken chop, this place would definitely be one of em.

Restoran Yut Kee @ KL, Malaysia.

They have shifted to a new location and this place is bustling with customers. Be prepared to queue if you come during peak hours.

Ordered a chicken chop, I miss this old school style. Simple yet satisfying. Don't forget to order the coffee here as well, it's a killer. Prices has gone up but like all the places in KL it's becoming a norm.

Lucky Bo @ Bangsar, KL, Malaysia.

Jalan Bangkung at Bangsar houses a few eateries. This round went and check out Lucky Bo.

Ordered a hainanese chicken chop and some wings to share.

The food is good, big portions as well. I kinda like this area as it's a quiet place and easy parking. Seems the place is quite famous for its steak as well, next round!

It Roo Cafe @ Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

The signs boasts The Best Chicken Chop in town for JB. I've passed by a few times and this round I managed to check it out.

They have two versions for the chicken chop, grilled or fried, I opted for the grilled one as it was recommended by the server, and boy was he right!

Portions are generous, the wedges was done nicely, crispy and the inside was moist. Loved the coleslaw, I'm such a sucker for coleslaw. The grilled chicken coupled with the black pepper sauce was good. It remind's me of the old school Hainanese style chicken chop minus the open air kopi shop style ambience. Good stuff.
