Reviews and Legacy
I Can See Your House From Here was well-received by critics and fans for its strong compositions and the fluid interaction between the two guitar virtuosos.
Musicality: Reviewers noted that the album is not a "cutting contest" but rather a relaxed, freewheeling conversation where the guitarists' distinct bluesy and melodic styles complement each other brilliantly.
Sound Quality: The original CD was praised for its virtually perfect sound quality, while the later audiophile vinyl reissues (such as the Tone Poet Series) have been highlighted as "reference quality" recordings with a wide soundstage.
Highlights: Tracks like Metheny's jazz/rock "The Red One" and Scofield's slow-burn ballad "No Matter What" were noted as particular highlights.
