Daino is João Costa, a solid electronic music scene player based in Lisbon. Both a producer and a DJ, Costa is a professional keyboardist, music teacher, sound engineer and freelance composer/sound-designer for videogames.

With a few releases under his belt, Daino debuts in vinyl format with the work presented in “Crescendo”, which holds all the makings of a future classic. There are three originals and a remix on his new record, all perfect for those who love emotional intensity and playing to a discerning dance floor. If you feel at home with the music both of Gerald Mitchell, Mike Banks or Mike Grant.. but also Jovonn, Tony Humphries or MAW, “Crescendo” is right for you.

A wholesome four tracker, it defines modern deep house with a respect for it’s classic institutions. There’s the New Jersey style house of What U Need, the epic and piano driven discoid techno funk of Quiescence and the bluesy gospel party anthem found in Glory. All amazing tracks with pristine a production showcasing Daino’s roots in jazz-funk.

“Quiescence” gets phenomenally flipped by Chicago based Andrew “Change Request” Emil, who turns the effusive original into an amazing burner that builds forever until it’s climatic resolution!

All vinyl copies have been hand painted by Percebes artists, so there’s no two that look the same, they all look quite different from each other.

"This record happened spontaeously 'At Home' on Sunday, May 17th 2020, during the worldwide lockdown and is a completely unplanned, fully improvised compilation of 4 tracks. Sitting at the piano, I often have no idea which melodies, harmonies or rhythms will arise. I enjoy this way of natural musical unfolding. Everything is so spontaneous and so alive.

So here are four songs, one take per song, nothing cut or edited – raw and alive.

Surely some of you will find some similarity to a famous song in track 4 'A Blessing'. It is amazing how beautiful songs can linger around in the head, pop up from time to time and influence the musical outpouring. Yes, "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban is a beautiful song and I want to officially honour it. Check it out if you haven't heard it yet.

First teased with the release of bubbling lead single ‘Calores’ in January, ‘Da Linha’ crowns a defining breakthrough three years for PEDRO that have seen him establish himself as one of Portugal’s most vibrant and exciting new-school producers. His debut EP ‘Damaia’ (2017) – named after the suburb of Lisbon he was born in – immediately signposted a bright, borderless and completely unique club sound, which has since been best emphasised by 2019 releases including the Buraka Som Sistema-sampling ‘Rapazes’ and a breathless collaboration with Nigerian MC, Magugu (‘Too Much’), both of which feature on the LP tracklist.

First inspired by his older brother, who would introduce PEDRO to the latest electronic music from all over Europe, PEDRO references DJ Rolando’s ‘Knights Of Jaguar’ as a memorable early touch point – a record he still credits with influencing the melodies he writes to this day. Living and growing up in Damaia, a neighbourhood of Amadora, the biggest and most diverse Lisbon suburb which counts almost 20% of migrant population, mostly from former Portuguese colonies such as Angola, Cape Verde or Brazil, exposing him to a whole patchwork of new sounds and genres like kuduro and kizomba from a very...  more

Mira Pardelha, About Land, is an album of Lisbon stories: of overheard voices, cinematic settings and forgotten folklore.

The ten tracks were created with musicians from Lisbon and London, blending elements of fado and tropicalia with baroque pop and classic songwriting.

Mira Pardelha started with an outsider’s passion for Portugal and found a collective of Portuguese collaborators. Together they push towards and then pull away from the circle of Portuguese experience.

The outsiders expose the raw materials, which are dragged into the light and then subverted. The music works in the alchemy of perspectives.

As dez faixas foram criadas contando com músicos de Lisboa e Londres, misturando elementos de fado e tropicália com pop barroco e composição clássica.

Mira Pardelha começou com a paixão de alguém de fora por Portugal e encontrou um coletivo de colaboradores portugueses. Juntos, eles aproximam-se e se afastam-se do círculo da experiência portuguesa. Os estrangeiros expõem as matérias-primas, que são arrastadas para a luz e depois subvertidas.

As a sort of introductory discharge, "21:44" announces yet another path in Niagara's sonic journey. No two records sound alike, as the trio clearly differentiates creative processes and moods. As often before, the tracks arise from countless hours of live jams where those processes are implemented.

The old school ancestral vibe in "Tília" sends the listener back to "Forbidden Planet" territory, not only because of the vintage sci fi feel but also conducive to the kind of psychological turmoil the 1956 movie explores.

"Ano-A", "Ano-B" and "Ano-C" stem from the same root and all use acoustic percussion to add more organic life to the liquid nature of the music. The resulting sound is simultaneously pregnant with possibilities and fully conscious of a carefully designed map, leaving us adrift in the ebb and flow.

History is dotted with examples of "spontaneous music", and Niagara themselves promote and incorporate an artificial reality capable of self regenerating and plotting unfamiliar courses. There's something going on.

"Textures & Lines" started as an invitation by Portuguese ensemble Drumming GP to work with the duo Joana Gama & Luís Fernandes. Joana's piano and Luís's electronics find new territories in a mix of subtle and raw use of percussions.
