The Arado Ar 96 was a German single-engine, low-wing monoplane of all-metal construction produced by Arado Flugzeugwerke. It was the Luftwaffe's standard advanced trainer during World War II.

The Ar 96 was used for advanced, night and instrument flying training. Famously, during the evening of 28 April 1945, pilot Hanna Reitsch was flown with then-Luftwaffe head Generaloberst Robert Ritter von Greim out from Berlin under Soviet fire in an Arado Ar 96 trainer from an improvised airstrip in the Tiergarten, piloted by a Luftwaffe sergeant.

Shadow production was undertaken by Letov and the Avia factory in occupied Czechoslovakia, where manufacturing continued for some years after the war, being designated the Avia C-2B.

A wooden version known as the Ar 396 was built in France and was designated the SIPA S.10. Further developments were the SIPA S.11 (armed version), and the SIPA S.12, a metal version; 188 of all versions were produced until 1958. The S.11 was operated with some success in Algeria carrying machine guns, rockets and light bombs.

Gloster Gladiator Mk.I 'Last Biplane Fighter' (decals for RAF, Belgian AF, Chinese Nationalist AF)

The Gloster Gladiator was a British-built biplane fighter developed from the Gauntlet and its prototype, designated SS.37, flew in September 1934. Following testing and minor modifications the first production model, the Mk.I, was delivered from July 1936 and became operational in January 1937.

The Gladiator Mk.I was a single-seat biplane of metal construction with mixed fabric and metal covering. It was fitted with a fixed undercarriage and powered by a Mercury radial engine turning two-blade wooden propeller. Its armament consisted of four guns, of which two were mounted in the fuselage and two under the lower wings.

In total, 378 Gladiator Mk.Is were produced and supplied during 1937-38. Belgian Air Force operated 22 aeroplanes, while China acquired 36 Gladiators.

The Gladiator was the RAF's last biplane fighter aircraft and the first with an enclosed cockpit. Although rendered obsolete by newer monoplane designs, it proved good in initial combats and saw action in almost all theatres during the WWII.

Gladiators (both the Mk.I and Mk.II versions) were successfully exported to many countries and saw service with more than 15 air arms, including those of Belgium, China, Egypt, Finland, Free France, Greece, Iraq, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Portugal and Sweden. They also equipped RAAF and SAAF squadrons in the Middle East and North Africa.

The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was a German fighter aircraft designed in the mid-1930s. Powered by a Jumo and later by Daimler-Benz in-line engine, it represented the first modern fighter of the era. Originally conceived as an interceptor, later models were developed to fulfil various roles, such as bomber escort, fighter-bomber, day and night fighter, ground-attack or reconnaissance. Various armament modifications evolved in service, using pre-packaged or field kits. The aircraft was of an all-metal monocoque construction, featuring an enclosed canopy and a retractable landing gear.

The G-series aircraft were introduced in mid-1942. The initial variants (G-1 through G-4) differed only in minor details from its predecessor, the Bf 109F, most notably in the more powerful DB 605 engine. Odd numbered variants were built as high-altitude fighters, while even numbered variants were air superiority fighters and fighter-bombers.

The Bf 109 was the most produced fighter aircraft in the aviation history, and besides the German Luftwaffe it served in many other air forces and gallantly fought in all aerial combats of WWII.

There are two kits with decals in each box so two complete models can be made.
These were originally Eduard kits that have now been improved with resin cockpits and Mark I decals.

The decals are nice, though the kits are quite basic by modern standards. I am not sure when they were released but there are reviews from 2000, they actually seem to have a passing resemblance to the standard of the  recent Zvesda war gaming kits as they do not have cockpit cavities...

A British licence development of the Sikorsky S-58, the Westland Wessex was a multi-role all-metal helicopter produced by Westland Aircraft Ltd. The Wessex HAS.1, powered by a Napier Gazelle turboshaft engine, first flew in June 1958 and the type began performing anti-submarine duties three years later, operated by the Royal Navy. A more powerful version, the HAS.3, with improved avionics and a radome on the rear fuselage, was introduced in 1967. In total, 140 HAS.1 helicopters were built, while 45 HAS.3 machines existed (all but three were conversions from HAS.1s).

In 1963 the Royal Australian Navy acquired a total of 27 Wessex helicopters designated the HAS.31A, of which 23 were later upgraded to Mk.31B standard, similar to that of HAS.3.

The RN Wessex HAS.1 and HAS.3s continued in service until 1979 and 1983, respectively, while the RAN’s HAS.31Bs served in ASW, SAR, utility and ambulance role until the end of 1989.
