1/144 Dassault Mirage IIIRS/IIIEBR/5BA/50C ‘Canards bagged - Mark I Models

1/144 Dassault Mirage IIIRS/IIIEBR/5BA/50C ‘Canards bagged - Mark I Models

RELEASED 5/2023

This injection-moulded kit contains 56 parts and two clear part (the cockpit canopy and a landing lamp).

A comprehensive decal sheet is included covering 4x Options.

This is a single kit, bagged format.

The Mirage III jet fighter was developed by the French Avions Marcel Dassault company and its prototype flew in 1956. The first major production model was the Mirage IIIC, while the IIIE was an upgraded variant flying in April 1961.

A number of Mirage IIIEs were built for export, being purchased by Argentina (IIIEA), Brazil (IIIEBR), Lebanon (IIIEL), Pakistan (IIIEP), South Africa (IIIEZ), Spain (IIIEE) and Venezuela (IIIEV). Mirage IIIR was a reconnaissance aircraft, with radar replaced by a camera nose. It was based on the IIIE but with simpler avionics. These aeroplanes were supplied to the French Air Force (IIIR/RD) and others were exported to Switzerland (one Mirage IIIRS delivered + 17 licence-built by F+W in 1968-69). The Mirage 5 was the next major variant, first flying in May 1967, destined for clear-weather attack role. It was equipped with less sophisticated avionics, more fuel storage and featured a longer nose. In Belgium, 63 a/c were licence-built in the period 1970-73 by SABCA as the 5BA. The Mirage 50 was further improvement of the Mirage 5, fitted with uprated engine and new avionics. To improve take-off performance and overall manoeuvrability, fixed canards were installed above and behind the air intakes. These fore planes were fitted/retrofitted to number of single- and two-seat Mirages.

The Mirage IIIE/R/5/50 was a single-seat, all-metal monoplane featuring a tailless delta configuration utilised as a multirole/strike aircraft. Compared to the previous IIIC, it had an extended fuselage for avionics and additional fuel and straight tailfin leading edge. It was powered by a SNECMA Atar 09C or 09K-50 turbojet. It carried two DEFA cannons in the lower fuselage under the air intakes and was fitted with five external stores pylons (one under the fuselage and two under each wing).

Colour schemes included in the kit:

1) SABCA Mirage 5BA (MIRSIP), No.062, White BA 62, wearing Belgian Air Force colours (Force aérienne belge), Sint-Truiden/Brustem Air Base, Belgium, autumn 1994

2) Federal Aircraft Works F+W Mirage IIIRS (AMD) AMIR, c/n 134/1027, White R-2102, ‘Skorpiʼ, Fliegerstaffel 10 (Squadron), Swiss Air Force (Schweizer Luftwaffe), Dübendorf Air Base, Switzerland, during the visit to JaboG 38 ‘Fʼ, Jever Air Base, Germany, October 1997

1/144 Dassault Mirage III and Cheetah - Foxone

1/144 Mirage and Cheetah - Foxone
Dassault Mirage III
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dassault_Mirage_III

The first major production model of the Mirage series, the Mirage IIIC, first flew in October 1960. The IIIC was largely similar to the IIIA, though a little under a half meter longer and brought up to full operational fit. The IIIC was a single-seat interceptor, with an Atar 09B turbojet engine.

The Mirage IIIC was armed with twin 30 mm DEFA revolver-type cannon, fitted in the belly with the gun ports under the air intakes. Early Mirage IIIC production had three stores pylons, one under the fuselage and one under each wing, but another outboard pylon was quickly added to each wing, for a total of five. It was also possible to carry bombs on a sleek supersonic tank that also had bomb carrying capacity. The outboard pylon was intended to carry an AIM-9B Sidewinder air-to-air missile, later replaced by the Matra R550 Magic and also was armed with the radar guided R530 Missile on the center line pylon.

The Atlas Cheetah is a South African fighter aircraft, developed for the South African Air Force (SAAF) and currently operated by the Ecuadorian Air Force (FAE). It was developed as a major upgrade of the Dassault Mirage III by the Atlas Aircraft Corporation (later Denel Aviation) in South Africa and is based on the IAI Kfir.[2] Three different variants were created, 16 dual-seat Cheetah D, 16 single-seat Cheetah E and 38 single-seat Cheetah C. The Cheetah Es were retired in 1992, and the Cheetah Cs and Cheetah Ds in April 2008, being replaced by the Saab Gripen. A limited number are still operated in South Africa as flight test aircraft.

1/144 Mirage IV A - Miniwings

1/144 Mirage IV A - Miniwings
The Dassault Mirage IV was a French jet-propelled supersonic strategic bomber and deep-reconnaissance aircraft. Developed by Dassault Aviation, the aircraft entered service with the French Air Force in October 1964. For many years it was a vital part of the nuclear triad of the Force de Frappe, France's nuclear deterrent striking force. The Mirage IV was retired from the nuclear strike role in 1996, and the type was entirely retired from operational service in 2005.

Another great kit, larger than you might expect conforming to the Miniwing signature format and feel being cleanly cast quality resin with no obvious air bubbles. The panel lines on fuselage  are very finely cast and provide a good balance between finesse and detailing, and the kit also comes with under wing pylons with drop tanks and the AN-22 Nuclear Bomb!

This kit also includes both VAc-Form and Clear Resin Canopy options and also has a photo-etched sprue for detailing.

It comes with Decals designed by JBR-Decals and printed  by the BOA Agency for :
Mirage IVA No.9 EB1/91, Nuclear test South Pacific - July 19 1966
Mirage IVA No.53 'BZ' - ERS 1/91, Iraq Operation TARPAN 2003

This great site provides actual images of the aircraft/squadrons featured in the decal schemes:
