PROPELLER PLANES 1/144 VOL. 1 (English & Spanish) - Ammo Series by Mig

PROPELLER PLANES 1/144 VOL. 1 (English & Spanish) - Ammo Series by Mig

Reference: AMIG6144

This book is Multilingual, including texts in English &Spanish language

Book, soft cover, 144 pages with high-quality full colour photographs.

1/144 is arguably the aircraft scales that has seen more growth in recent times, attracting a large number of followers, especially due to the high quality detail currently achieved by the manufacturers. This scale has many advantages, but its main benefit is that it allows us to model the largest planes, which in larger scales are frequently too big to display or store at home once finished. Another great advantage is the simplicity and speed of assembly and painting of these models, which makes them very enjoyable and addictive. In addition, its small size facilitates the creation of small scenes and dioramas of manageable and practical sizes.

In this book you will discover, thanks to the guidance of master modellers and through detailed step-by-step articles, all the keys to assemble, detail, paint and weather any 1/144th scale propeller aircraft, from large bombers or airliners to small fighter planes. In addition, the final chapter includes a detailed article that shows you the fundamental aspects of diorama construction to display your 1/144th scale aircraft in an appropriate setting.

Price: 23,50 €

VOTE @ Revell.de

VOTE @ Revell.de

Revell Germany has opened a new voting page, collecting ideas from the community (mainly for new kits) and holding a vote on each one. The site is available in German and English (you can switch on the top right of the page). I'm not sure how much influence this will have on Revells future plans but it might be an opportunity to promote 1/144th scale subjects. Feel free to join, add your ideas (in the "About" section) and vote for others.

Note: The English and German section have different listings/

1/144 Lagg-3 & Bf-109 by Zvezda

1/144 Lagg-3 & Bf-109 by Zvezda
It has been interesting to note the creation by Zvezda of Russia of a new series of budget price 1/144 kits. First came the Sturmovil IL-2, then the Junkers Ju-87. Now, we have the Lagg-3 and Bf-109.

Ok, so the Bf-109 isn't going to win any hearts, but the Lagg-3 is currently not available with the possible exception of the True North Metal items, and even then the Zvezda items still look better?(in some respects, also no worse than some of the earlier minicraft kits!)

I think the Lagg-3 and future Soviet VVS WWII aircraft could find their way onto some modelling benches, in a bid to fill holes in peoples Soviet Aircraft collection.

Although, Zvezda are selling these as kits with decals and stands, they are initialy intended for use with thier new 'war game' system. This war game is system called the 'Art of Tactic' and is currently released in Russian, but looks like it could be released in German and English too!

Available: January 2011 ( IL-2, Ju-87 )

Available: March 2011 ( Lagg - 3, bf-109 )

To be confirmed:
Ju-52. Li-2 (DC-3) - hopefully still 1/144 (?),
and
more Soviet VVS Fighters!? (La-5)

The following site gives more insight into the Zvezda "war game" called
"Art of Tactic"

some of the artwork here would suggest more Soviet VVS fighters to come....

20% Price Reduction
Free postage on orders of 150 Euro

Jacques does a great line in 1/144 kits in white metal.
Whilst his range covers WWII to the Modern Day, my favourites are the early French jet protoypes! (Here) or maybe you fancy a Mistel or Magister

Certainly some very nice looking kits that you would not currently find anywhere else!

It is worth reqesting a price list as these kits are availble as kit or built!

Colour Comparison Charts by PetersPlanes

Petersplanes has compiled an exstensive number of soruces and oppinion to draw up an immpressive array of information relating to aircraft colours and paint brands. You may even have witnessed some of these discussions across some of the various modelling and historical information forums!

The spreadsheet covers a compilation of Humbrol and Tamiya paints to match (most) RLM, French, Italian, RAF and US WW2 colours, the colour chart is of RLM colour chips (from Merrick) with Testors, Humbrol, Tamiya and JPS best matches from the above spreadsheet suggestion.

The main article is posted here at Aeroscale UK Forum >> Here <<

Division Panzer 144 - Model & News Website!

Division Panzer 144 - Model & News Website!
http://divisionpanzer.webnode.es/

I have found this interesting new 144 model and news website for 144, nicely laid out and full of good references for 144 models.

Worth you taking a look and adding to you favourite links, also its in Spanish - so you may need to use "google translate" (or similar machine translation?)
