War Stories by Conquistador Games

War Stories by Conquistador Games

Is a card  War Gaming System by Conquistador Games is another wargaming project that looks to be a akin to the "wings of war/Glory" but card based and designed for miniatures such as 1/144.

They claim to be subsequently releasing a series of pre-painted miniatures "equal in quality to the WTM series"  - so, it remains to be seen if these will be WTM or plastic/metal alternatives!?

If you into your gaming and based in the USA, this could be a project for you!

1/144 WWII German Bauform H667 Wargame Diorama Base - CGD

1/144 WWII German Bauform H667  Wargame Diorama Base - CGD

This new series combines the usage of the model both as a wargame accessory and as model diorama display. The GameDio base measures approximately 99mm (3.9 in.) Flat to Flat, which makes it sitting comfortably on common wargame Hex bases that measures 100mm flat to flat. It measures approximately 114mm (4.5 in. ) tip to tip. This is a two part model painted in Beach Painting Scheme. The top of the bunker opens for placement of anti tank guns and troops.

This 1:144 WWII German Bunker Bauform H667 is a simplified design based on the Bauform H667 used in Normandy Exit E-1, on Omaha Beach (D-Day). These bunker types were usually armed with 5cm Kwk 39/40 (coming soon form CGD). This model has enough room to up-gun to Pak43,and with crew:

Individually cast in resin, hand painted to the finest detail. 100% made in Hong Kong.
A perfect display base for your 1:144 wargaming and/or displaying your collection of Dragon or Takara WTM 1:144 tanks. Also suitable for N scale and 12mm models.

Also available in Summer, Autumn, Desert and Winter painting scheme, and unpainted too.

1/144 Dornier Do-17z Kits by Petersplanes

1/144 Dornier Do-17z Kits by Petersplanes

Peter has been busily beavering away on his excellent line of 1/144 aircraft originally seeking out opportunity for under represented seaplanes, the range has also been extended to cover aircraft flown by the RAF and in particular RAAF (Royal Australian Air force) and with the Do-17z marks a move into other under represented aircraft with one of the 'elephants in the room' being a lack of a Do-17 Kit.

Peters Planes can supply this model to you in two formats:

1) "WarGamer" - this is the simplest option available cast for those who require their models to be either robust or similar to build in this case a mere 9 pieces and to be shown stand mounted.

2) "Gold Series" - this is for those who prefer more of a challenge or wish to put the time and effort into a more complex build, often with a choice of marks or variants available with which to complete your kit. The Gold series as seen also come with other value added parts such as white metal props and the option of solid canopies (or, do be used for heat basing vac canopies) and two sets of vac form canopies (in case of trimming 'issues')

Both kits have been mastered using 3D CAD Software and a master produced to then undertake a more tradition casting process, a vacuum pump is used remove the trapped air from the mold to ensure that no bubbles are present in the final cast. I think that you can tell that this provides a nice degree of detailing on both formats of the kit as can bee seen from the photos above, and collective both options produce a very fine looking aircraft.

Peterplanes recommend 'Gator Glue' or similar PVA glue for the vac-form pieces with your favoured glue for the resin cast items (CA etc)

A set of decals are provided also.

1/144 H667 "Bauform" Bunker - from CGD

This bunker from CGD is based upon the German Type H667 "Bauform" casemate.

The bunker is situated at the mouth of Exit E-1, on Omaha Beach (D-Day).

The location is actually the valley of a small river, the Ruquet, which flows from the villages of Colleville-sur-Mer and St. Laurent-sur-Mer above down to the sea.

MS Powerpoint Slide Show >> Here << 6-7 MB!!

CGD has produced a very nice bunker based upon a historic German design, but in modular form to allow for maximum flexibility. It will work with WTM PAK40 guns and has a 'widget' stand to allow for the WTM 88 (minus shield and cruciform mounts) to be used. The main bunker section can be 'flipped'. As seen in the photos the defence arm and rear entrances can be swapped or removed as required depending on your needs.

1/144 M13 / 40 Carro Armato Italian Tank - Panzer Depot

1/144 M13 / 40 Carro Armato Italian by Panzer Depot

New production, 2x Colour Options.

Apparently quite a long lived little number this, over 700 built and still in existance in 1963 in Iraq (and used by "You know who, to Seize Power")

Obvioulsy in its WWII timeline, it mainly figured in the North Africa Campaigns. - it must be said that history was not really kind to this little (sorry, medium) tank.

Those interested in the
Beda Fomm episode may be interested to note that the Ambush Blitz War game rules (optimised for 1/144 and compatible) has just published a Beda Fomm campaign update for this scenario! see 1/144 Ambush Blitz yahoo Forum

Italian tanks are a much overlooked subject that even in larger scales has to be a fairly niche product area.

1/144 CG Dynamix (CGD) Diorama & Wargame

1/144 CG Dynamix (CGD) Diorama & Wargame

CGD have released a new range of interesting 1/144 items, while these are aimed at 'wargaming' i think they could work equally well as diorama or display pieces.

For the Panzerturms, at last you have a purpose for all those spare can.do Panthers!?

The Panther turrets are not included, and obviously if you felt inclined you could use turrets from other tanks. One of the Panzerturms is designed as "Berlin: Last Days of the Reich" and the other as a "west wall" piece, I think it would also be possible to use these as 'Cold War' fortifications as i think similar constructions were used in Switzerland, Czechoslovakia and other Eastern Bloc Counties!? Or, maybe ata push - A Golan Heights Compaign?

The Bridge system is interesting as there are various starter packs and extension packs available, obviously a combination of these packs could make for an a) interesting or, b) long bridge.

Finally, there is a nice little bunker (88mm not included)

these can be found on CGD ebay store.
