The new start-up TACPainting have upped their range of 1/144 items and have released a series of figures based around gun crews representative of the key artillery pieces from the major powers. These currently, figures cover British, American, Russian, German, Italian and Japanese forces, more to follow!

1/144 artillery and flak guns with crews are detail painted and then mounted on thin metal 30mm x 40mm bases.  (to reduce the height next to the vehicles)

Each kits consist of 48 resin and clear parts, and both come with two decal schemes each, pilots are available separately.

This first batch is is an interesting set of kits as they appear currently to be exclusively used by the UAE (as the USA chose the F-15SE instead), furthermore according to press reports quoted by Flight International, this is "the first time the US has sold a better aircraft [F-16] overseas than its own forces fly"

I suspect there could be further variants of this kit produced, certainly by offering different variants and decal options to then the sales of this kit would be greater .

A number of factors have led to CGD to release an interesting set of figures. The demand by modellers to have accurate scale 1/144 to enhance their dioramas, and more interesting for the whole 3D printing experience Shapeways are trailing a new "ultra fine" print medium. This has led CGD to design some figures that look like figures and not just a collection of lumps and bumps!

You will get 10 figures in an assortment of poses, designed to be used around an "armour maintenance depot", interestingly these come with detachable foot places so you can have your figure supported on its own base, or detached the figure can be attached to diorama directly (remember to paint them first!)

Note: This material provided by Shapeways makes they figure more like Resin than Plastic, and may need care when handling.

To assist in your diorama projects ACI Toyc Company has releases a set of 1/144 metal(Pewter) figures for use with with your panzers. While designed to represent one of the most famous german panzer aces Micheal Wittmann they can be used in a number of different configurations.

Two sets are available #S144-1 'Panzer Crew' and #S144-2 'Micheal Wittmann.

There are various WTM/Can.do prepainted versions of the Whttmann tank from WTM-01,WTM-05 and Can.do Series?) that can be used directy. Alternatively you could construct your own?
