Menacing Maine Coon
6x9 ink on Canson 140 lb cold press paper done last week of another artist's Maine Coon cat. First I sketched him with an Elegant Writer calligraphy pen, then added water at random. This gives the sketch a loose look.

Stalker Cat
12x9 watercolor on Fluid 140 lb
cold press paper. Fluid is made in USA in Kansas City, MO., and is
quite like working on velvet. I had a cat with similar coloring to this
one named Taco Belle, a Maine Coon.

Lil Lulu cat
9.5x7 watercolor pencils on paper (Ecosystem sketchbook) done on first of May, another artist's cat she rescued. Lulu had a broken pelvis and someone had doused her fur with gasoline trying to set the poor cat on fire when she was rescued, a feral cat who found her forever home. I had only 12 wc pencils so colors are not as varied as usual.

Faux Batik Maine Coon Cat
7.5x7.5 alcohol inks on wax paper done yesterday as one of my workshop demos. With this cat, I've used a 1/2" craft brush to put the colored inks in rather than pouring them. This Maine coon looks just like my Taco Belle.

Faux Batik Cat
8x7.25 alcohol ink on wax paper done as a demo yesterday for the Midland Palette Club. After tracing my initial ink sketch onto the paper with a permanent black ink pen, I colored in the various fur parts. Whiskers are made with white gel pen.

Stalker Cat
12x9 watercolor done yesterday as part of another WetCanvas challenge of doing a painting from images provided in a two hour time limit. This cat was about 1.5 hours and was painted wet on dry on new Fluid 140 lb cold press paper. Fluid is made in USA in Kansas City, MO., and is quite like working on velvet. I had a cat with similar coloring to this one named Taco Belle, a Maine Coon.

Taco Belle kitty
8.5x11 watercolor and ink on paper done yesterday. Initial ink sketch below was with Pigma Micron 01 pen started awhile back but left unfinished. Taco Belle was rescued by us years ago from Carlos restaurant parking lot. With her Maine Coon markings of wide black stripes mixed with tabby long hair she was quite gorgeous.
