Puffy Robin
5.5x8.5 watercolor on Masters paper in sketchbook done over the weekend for another timed WetCanvas event. I really rushed thru painting this in a record 35 minutes. The very young robin has its feathers fluffed up during a spring cold front.

Fat Redbreasted Robin
8x8 acrylics on gessoed foam core board done today, modeling the fat robin after ones in the front yard with spring tree blossoms. I used a lavender sky rather than the pale brown blowing sand we are used to seeing. A filbert #8 was used to paint this.

Birds Flocked Together
12x18 watercolor over gessoed matboard completed yesterday. Some of the birds were sketched in colored pencil. There are 9 total with a blue parakeet in flight. This imaginary scene was previously done in other colors so all were lifted out and repainted using cardinals, robin, bluejays, etc. Negative painting also for branches and leaves.
