Pink Desert Saguaro
15x5.5 watercolor on Blick 140 lb cold press paper, an imaginary pink desert scene done a couple of weeks ago while on a trip out of state. The pink tones of the sand echoes throughout the sky and other desert landscape parts such as vegetation, rocks, hills, etc. The icon of the desert is the stately saguaro which I never tire from painting.

Dry Desert Icons
30x22 watercolor on Kilimanjaro 140 lb cold press paper painted earlier in the month. I have painted this southwest landscape mission more than once and in different ways. Seagulls in acrylic are on the reverse side. With the imaginary saguaro cactus flanking the tall mission bell tower, the bottom part beckons you to come on inside.

Desert Icons Study in Mixed Media
11x8.5 mixed media using colored pencils, watercolor and gouache on paper in sketchbook, a quick study of an old imaginary mission with saguaro cactus I've painted before a few times.
