Across the Moors

Arctic Air

9x6 watercolor and white crayon quick demo done yesterday for our Monday class; no reference used, only placing crayon marks onto dry Grumbacher 140 lb cold press paper then adding paint. Brusho Sky with White Buildings

Old European Buildings

Sunflower House

6x6 watercolor and ink on Masters paper.  I had previously drawn this scene in my sketchbook but never did any more work on it.  The stylized look of the sunflowers or poppies gives the imaginary house a fresh appeal.  With high temps daily now we are all ready for flowers, sunshine, and blue skies.

Belize Umbrellas

15x11 watercolor on 140 lb cold press Saunders paper, with Daniel Smith paints.  Using a marketplace photo from our trip to Belize several years ago, I painted this townscape rapidly using only bright colors at the center of interest.  The background was a wash of manganese blue except for the white of the paper showing.  I like the open market vendors selling their wares.
