I've always been a fan of Princess Peach. Every since my obsessive pre-teen self wasted away too many perfect summer days trying to catch a glimpse of the elusive Princess Toadstool in Super Mario Brothers, I wished for a female protagonist to play. It wasn't too terribly long until we got Super Mario Bros 2 here in the US and I was floating around tossing turnips and eggs to my heart's content. But Peach never got all the cool transformations like Mario and Luigi. It wasn't until 2013's Super Mario 3D World that she graduated into a dynamic transforming character like the rest. While the pink Cat Peach power-up may have stolen the show for most players, I was personally more thrilled by the Fire Flower version. It's the basic power-up I had always wanted from those early days on my NES. These K'NEX blind bags are a really fun collectible and the Fire Peach was an unexpected addition. My fingers are crossed for a Rosalina to round out my princesses. Let's check out Peach below!

K'NEX World of Nintendo - FIRE FLOWER PEACH!

Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures - PINKY!
Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures is a computer-animated re-imagining of the world of Pac-Man. The animated series first aired in June of 2013 on Disney XD. A basic run-down of the show is this: Pac-Man is young and is the last of the yellow Pac-Worlders. There are lots of other colors of Pac-Worlders as seen by his colorful assortment of friends. Also, the Ghost Gang are now secretly his friends and help Pac-Man fight against the other ghosts. So Pinky and her brothers (Blinky, Inky, and Clyde) are suddenly good guys -- plus Pinky is now a girl, and Purple Sue is non-existent. There have been a lot of toys related to this series showing up in the video game aisle of TRU for the past few months, but I actually prefer these mini K'Nex blind bag figures. They're small, they have more characters, and they're significantly cheaper that the larger Bandai figures. Each Blind Bag actually contains two figures, too. (The second figure is one of an assortment of generic bad ghosts). Let's check her out below!

A Handful of Miniature SUPER MARIO PRINCESSES!
I can't help but think that every geek out there has a soft spot for Super Mario Bros. For me, this game was my first exposure to home video games (aside from Pong and early TI computer games like Parsec, Alpiner, and Munch Man). Super Mario Bros was different though. It was in-depth, it was challenging, it was full of wacky scenarios, and it had a musical score that really got your heart racing in those underground levels. The goal was, predictably, to rescue the princess from the evil Bowser. Princess Toadstool, as she was known back then, was an early version of the Blonde-haired, pink-dressed damsel that became an awesome playable character in Super Mario Bros 2 and has since starred in tons of games (including her own). Princess Peach (The brunette, Yellow-dressed princess) has had an equally prominant role in the Mario mythos since her debut in Game Boy's Super Mario Land in 1989. Their characters have each had a ton of merchandising over the years, but I am only highlighting two of the more recent (and more accessible) products to have surfaced in recent years.
