Be@rbricks are a 2001 spin-off of Medicom Toy's popular Kubrick line. The standard Be@rbrick figures are 7cm tall and feature a generic anthropomorphic bear sculpt with a potbelly and ears in a block-figure style. I find the combination of this default sculpt overlayed with recognizable character designs to be fun and quirky. The concept has been duplicated often, notably with Disney's 2008 Vinylmation line, but I find the original Be@rbricks to be the most appealing. Twenty-five years into the line, and the character selection is predictably daunting. Luckily I always narrow my focus my to superheroes which makes the hunt a lot more reasonable. Recently I discovered that a Spider-Man wave was released in 2022 with a variety of Spider-Ladies. They were pretty easy and inexpensive to pick up on eBay, but now I'm inspired to pick up others like DC and MCU. I suspect I will have a large assortment of these odd little bears by this time next year. But in the meantime, let's check out the Spider-Ladies below!

POP Funko - SPIDER-GIRL (PLUS CHASE)!
In 1998 there was an issue of What If? that posed the question, what if Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson had a teenage daughter (with Spider powers). The concept proved popular and soon May "Mayday" parker spun off into a solo series that became the longest running female-led title of all time from Marvel. (Plus two follow-up series Amazing and Spectacular). And she was also the catalyst for a whole new comic universe, MC2, which gave us Stinger, Wild Thing, and American Dream among others. What I always loved about Spider-Girl was her costume. It seems like no-brainer, but there had never been a real female hero wearing a version of the classic Spider-Man suit before (not counting Valerie from the Electric Company). This Funko Pop is awesome. She took a while to arrive.. just under a year from her pre-order, but she was well worth the wait. I ordered three Mayday Pops in hopes of scoring a 1:6 chase and I ended up getting two. Let's check out the Spider-Girl(s) below!

Mini-Mates SPIDER-GIRL (ANYA CORAZON)!
It's been a long time since I've given a single Mini-Mate its own review. Instead, I stockpile them and review a whole bunch at a time. But over the years, my favorite personal theme in my Mini-Mate collection has been the vast assortment of Spider-Ladies. There have been so many, in fact, that I didn't even realize that my absolute favorite Spider-person, Anya Corazon as Spider-Girl, hadn't been included yet. (She is such a great iteration of the Spider-Girl mantle and I really hope she gets another solo series some day). I love that Diamond Select Toys does such deep-dives into character selection. I actually have faith that we will many more Spiders down the line: Scream, Agony, Mania, Lady Spider, Charlotte Ritter, Spider-Woman in her modern costume, and maybe even a Valerie Spider-Woman from Electric Company. If anything, DST has proven that the sky is the limit. I'm really excited to see what new product they will show in a few days at NYCC. I'll be there with bells on. Let's check out Anya below!

Marvel's Spider-Man - SPIDER-GIRL!
I still haven't watched any episodes of the new Marvel's Spider-Man cartoon on Disney XD. But given the amount of merchandise attention that Anya Corazon is getting from it, I know I need to start soon. I have a great fondness for all the various Spider-Women that have been introduced over the years - Jessica Drew, Julia Carpenter, Mayday, Spider-Gwen, Ashley Barton, all of them. But above and beyond my favorite has been Anya Corazon (once she donned the Spider-Girl outfit -- her Araña phase wasn't my favorite to be honest). Her comics were witty and fun and I adored them (check out the Spider-Girl: Family Values TPB). Once the Spider-Verse storyline happened and we were suddenly introduced to dozens of cool new Spiders, I was afraid she would be overshadowed. But she's maintained a decent presence and now her role in the Disney XD show is making her a permanent fixture in the Marvel Universe (in my humble opinion). This toy is proving my point. Early 2018 Collection of MARVEL MINI-MATES!
I could rant on forever about my love of Mini-Mates. If you can embrace the Lego-like blocky style, you will find this line to be the most collector-focused and thorough series out there. The obscure character selection and team-building rosters are like nothing I have ever dared wish for. I look forward to every interesting release and I can't wait to see what else the future brings. I have waxed poetic about Minimates over and over again, so I am just going to put my wishlist in writing. As far as spider-ladies, I would love Mania, Lady Spider, Scream, Madame Web, Madam Web (Hostess), Animated Anya Corazon, and Agony. Outside of the Spider-Verse, I would love Namora, Namorita, Jocasta, Skids (and Rusty), Hellcat, Sharon Rogers, Red She-Hulk, America, American Dream, modern comic Sif, Binary, Hebzibah, and a new Firestar. Whew. Now let's see how many of these come to fruition in the next few years. Most are a longshot, but so was Madame Masque, so there's hope. Let's check out the newest batch below!

Marvel Titan Hero Series - SPIDER-GIRL!
As much as I am smitten with the trademark collector lines that fill the toy aisles, brands like Marvel Legends and DC Multiverse are so heavily researched by toy blogs that we know exactly what is coming out months (sometimes years) in advance. One of my favorite things about toy collecting is being surprised by something unexpected. I have known in my gut that there would eventually be a Spider-Lady of some sort represented in the Marvel Titan Hero series, but I assumed it would be Spider-Woman or Spider-Gwen. Then to my surprise I woke up a couple weeks ago to a DM on Instagram alerting me to this beautiful Anya Corazon Spider-Girl figure. I immediately ordered one on Amazon then on m lunch break I found one at Toys R Us (I'm very impatient!). This is the time of year when new kid-oriented product pops up without notice, so I had literally been googling a week before with no success. This Anya is based off her appearance in the new Disney XD Spider-Man cartoon. Let's check Spider-Girl out below!

Late 2017 Collection of MARVEL MINI-MATES!
Photographing small toys is a bit cumbersome for me. My photo tent is set up for 6 inch figures, so when it comes to the little guys I have to construct a stage of sorts to ensure they're properly lit. So out of laziness I tend to pile up a bunch of tiny figures and photograph them all at once. Mini-mates are a prime example of that. This post will collect all the Mini-mates I've picked up since May (when the Guardians of the Galaxy waves hit). Included will be Spiral, Hela, Gwenpool, Ms. Marvel, Captain Marvel, Black Cat, Proxima Midnight, Spider-girl (Petra Parker), Medusa, and White Tiger. Diamond Select Toys really haven't been skimping with character selection. It seems like every couple months there is some heavy-hitter heroine on the shelves. Plus I love having yet another reason to stalk all my Walgreens stores. I hope Mini-mates last a long long time and I will keep buying them as long as they keep this level of character diversity up. Marvel's Spider-Man - Anya Corazon SPIDER-GIRL!
Anya Corazon is my favorite Spider-character ever. I have re-read the Spider-Girl: Family Values TPB a dozen times and it never gets old to me. There was something about her personality, combined with the great writing and art, that just made me fall in love with the character. I often preach about my observation that Batgirls and Spider-Girls parallel each other; Cassandra Cain and May Parker came out at roughly the same time, same with Burnside Batgirl and Spider-Gwen, but my two favorite parallels were Stephanie Brown and Anya Corazon. It's not too coincidental that Steph will be in the new season of Young Justice, just as Anya is announced to be a character in the upcoming Disney XD show Marvel's Spider-Man. I expect we'll see retail release Hasbro toys from this show eventually, but in the meantime we get these mysterious Chinese figures to tide us over and create nerdy intrigue. I'm super curious to see what else this company makes in the future. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled. Let's check out Anya below!

Marvel Chess Collection - THE SPIDER-LADIES!
I hope Eaglemoss never stops making comic figurines. They started with the Classic Marvel Figurine Collection in 2007 and soon launched their DC Comics equivalent the year after. When both series ran their course, they began making Chess Pieces of the characters and the series continued. I count about 600 unique figures between DC and Marvel, and they're still coming. I thought I was showing great restraint with this line by only buying my favorite-of-favorites. But I just counted and I somehow acquired 37 over the years (including a purchase this afternoon - Hela). One of my greatest Eaglemoss joys came last year when there was a Spider-Man themed Chess series and they released four awesome modern Spider-Woman: Spider-Gwen, Spider-Girl (Anya), Silk, and a modern Jessica Drew Spider-Woman (which I think is the only representation of this look in plastic so far.. not even a Heroclix or Minimate). Eaglemoss has a knack for reading my mind when it comes to character selection. Let's check them out!

Marvel Legends - ASHLEY BARTON SPIDER-GIRL!
I'm still reeling over Marvel's 2014 Spider-Verse storylines. I've always been a fan of Spider-Man, but this event - which brought together dozens of Spider-People from countless dimensions - just made me obsessed. In one Summer we were introduced to both Silk and Spider-Gwen and saw them in storylines with Anya Corazon, Mayday Parker, Lady Spider, and many others. Aside from Gwen and Cindy though, the character I was most intrigued by was Ashley Barton. In her world, she is the granddaughter of Peter Parker and daughter of Clint Barton Hawkeye. I don't know too much about her but she reminds me a lot of the Huntress over in the Batman Universe. She's a little violent (she beheaded Kingpin), she doesn't follow orders, and she has a sexual vibe that none of her peers really exude. Plus I think her costume is perfect in its simplicity. I'm frankly shocked we got a toy of her, and a stunning toy at that. They really captured that combination of feminine wiles and testy attitude. Let's check her out below!

Marvel Mini-Busts - SPIDER-GIRL(S)!
Six years ago I was in a totally different place collection-wise. I was extremely streamlined, I had many rules and guidelines, and I had a much more restrictive budget. But that doesn't mean I didn't crave lots of product that was hitting the shelves back then. Missing this Spider-Girl 2-Pack was one of my big regrets. At the time the only statue had ever let myself buy was a clearanced Firestar bust from a store that was going out of business, but I wanted these two Spider-Girls so bad. Years later I finally own the set (at a fraction of the original price I might add). And it's just in time for my burgeoning Spider-Lady collection. Within a month or so we'll be getting Silk and Ashley Barton Marvel Legends figures and I'll be dedicating a whole shelf to the collection. As much as I enjoyed the character of Spider-Girl, I never took a liking to her comics. So these busts were the first exposure I had to the black symbiote Spider-Girl. It's a very cool look and I'm glad to have it represented in my collection finally.

Marvel Legends - SPIDER-GIRL!
May "Mayday" Parker is one of those characters that I have desperately tried to get into. The idea of a girl wearing Spider-Man's costume was such a novel idea to me. I couldn't believe it hadn't been done before. I remember discovering her on a Wizard Magazine cover while on vacation with my family. (I discovered Cassandra Cain in the same issue actually). Over the years I tried and tried to get into the comic but it just didn't stick. I always loved her design so I kept going back. Her fanbase was phenomenal though and her title was continually resurrected and rebooted. Even now, she's been a major player in the Spider-Verse storyline and the Petra Parker Spider-Girl in the Web Warriors cartoon plays homage to Mayday. Pretty good for a character that started off as a hypothetical one-shot in "What If...?" This figure is amazing. Hasbro has been knocking it out of the park with their Marvel Legends figures lately. My Spider-Lady shelf is positively exploding. Let's check out Mayday below!

Marvel Legends Infinite Series - SPIDER-GIRL!
Woo-Hoo! It's not often that a character you love, specifically a C-Lister, gets made into a perfect action figure. I never, ever expected to see Anya Corazon in the Marvel Legends line. I loved this version of Spider-Girl from the moment she donned the costume (I was never a fan of her previous Araña look). Her 8-issue solo series from 2010 got me hooked (pick up the Family Values TPB), but then she kind of faded away into obscurity. That is of course until she recently reappeared in the pages of Avengers Assemble with all her old charm and wit. Hopefully this action figure is an indication of a more prominent role for her in the Marvel Universe. This figure utilizes a brand new teenage buck. It's amazing. Now I'm wishing for some Young Avengers, Pixie, etc etc. Spider-Girl is a variant figure in the Skyline Sirens slot shared with Black Cat. The variant figures in Marvel Legends have a nasty habit of never hitting the shelves, but luckily she made it safe and sound to my local Target this week. Let's check her out below!

Marvel Legends SPIDER-GIRL Revealed!
This reveal is my most anticipated retail figure of 2014 so far! Anya Corazon is the current Spider-Girl in the Marvel Universe (she's the former Araña from Amazing Fantasy). I love this character. Her solo title from 2010 only lasted 8 short issues but I loved it. The art was fantastic, the character development was interesting, and the overall feel was fun. I considered it to be Marvel's version of the Stephanie Brown Batgirl series. I was very excited recently when Spider-Girl reappeared in the pages of Avengers Assemble (alongside Spider-Woman and Black Widow.. a Spider-Lady trio!), and now I'm even more stoked that she's getting an action figure - and an amazing-looking one at that. Marvel Legends seems to have rebranded all their lines "Infinite Series" this year (with a focus on Movie themes), and Anya is a variant in the Skyline Sirens slot (partnered with Black Cat) in the Spider-Man themed Green Goblin Build-a-Figure series. These variant slots are notorious for never appearing (Moonstar and Lyra anyone?), but these in-package shots are giving me a lot of confidence. I can't wait to get my hands on her!

The Amazing SPIDER-GIRL!
Spider-Girl has always always been a hit-or-miss character with me. She has all the surface-level qualities that I love in a Superhero (ie: She's a female version of an established male character, plus she has a cool origin). May "Mayday" Parker was originally created for an issue of What If in 1998... ostensibly as a single-story character. But she was soon given her own series as part of Marvel's M2 Universe. This first series won Mayday the distinction of having the longest running Marvel solo title featuring a lead female character - and that's not even counting her two follow-up series. These comics had a huge following, but for some reason I just wasn't a big fan. I kept trying to like the character over the years, but I never truly jumped on board until Anya Corazon (Araña) took over the mantle in 2011. In 1999, ToyBiz had an awesome Previews Exclusive female-centric line based of the M2 Universe. They have typical odd ToyBiz posturing and articulation, but all-in-all they're great figures. Mini-Mate Women of SPIDER-MAN!
Spider-Man has one of the best rosters of supporting female characters out there. There's the lovable family characters like Aunt May and Mary Jane, awesome "copycat" heroes like Spider-Woman and Spider-Girl, and of course a few villainous vixens like Black Cat to add some spice. DST and Art Asylum have just about the world's best character production out there. It's between them and heroclix and someday I'll make an in-depth comparison. Over the years we've received Mini-Mates of almost every Marvel character I can think of. It's amazing what they've been able to accomplish in ten years. The best part is that they always surprise the fans with something new and unexpected. I'm excited to see what they have displayed this weekend at Toy Fair (I'll be there reporting by the way). I'm hoping to see Young Avengers, New Warriors, and Guardians of the Galaxy (classic) - and I love the fact that there's a legitimate chance I'll see some of those. This review is huge so I'm skipping the in-package shots. Let's get started!
