A Prickly Duo of Cards by Maria Russell

A Prickly Duo of Cards by Maria Russell | Cuppa Cactus Stamp Set and Circle Frames Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Prickly Cactus Themed Cards!

Today we are sharing a duo of cards by Maria featuring our two cactus themed sets: Cuppa Cactus Stamp Set and Cultivated Cacti Stamp Set. Both sets are so fun and perfect for creating cute summer cards!

For her first card, shown above, she use the images of cacti in coffee mugs from the Cuppa Cactus Stamp Set. This set is easy to pair with any color theme by coloring the mugs different colors. She colored the images with alcohol markers and cut them out using our coordinating Cuppa Cactus Die Set. Then she layered them over a trio of circles that were cut out using our new Circle Frames Die Set. Doesn't this look so fun with the polka dot papers!?

Here is a close up so you can see all the amazing details, including little added white gel pen dots:

For her second card, she created a one layer card using our Cultivated Cacti Stamp Set:

She stamped the flower pots from the set in two rows and added the various cacti onto the pots using bright shades of yellow/orange and green! A few little pink flowers accent it perfectly. She filled the center of the card with fun sentiments.

Making one layer cards is a fun and quick way to create some simple cards to have on hand and this card by Maria is a perfect example!

Cultivated Cacti Card by Nakaba Rager

Cultivated Cacti Card by Nakaba Rager | Cultivated Cacti Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Lookin' Sharp!

Today we have a "sharp" cactus card created by Naki! She created a row of three adorable cacti using our Cultivated Cacti Stamp Set. This set has a bunch of bold cacti and pots that are fun to mix and match. She stamped three pots and embossed them with mint colored embossing powder on a gray cardstock to give them a fun two tone effect. Then she added a green cactus inside of each pot. A gray strip of cardstock works perfectly as a shelf. Then she added three of the sentiments from the set next to the cacti. Some ink blending and splattering makes a fun backdrop and then she layered the whole image over a patterned paper card base.

Naki hand cut out the pots and flower image on this card but you could also use the coordinating Cultivated Cacti Die Set.

This card would be so fun to send to a friend and is sure to make the recipient smile!
Here is a close up so you can see the details:

Space Cat light up card by Larissa Heskett | Cosmic Newton Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs with Chibitronics lights | #newtonsnook #chibitronics

Larissa used the Chibitronics Starter Kit along with our Cosmic Newton stamp set to create a fun interactive space scene! This card has not one but TWO interactive elements! It lights up AND the space rocket moves along the slider! She started out creating a pretty night sky using distress inks with a bunch of little stars and a planet in the sky added in using our Cosmic Newton Stamp Set and coordinating Cosmic Newton Die Set. She added a moon in front and the image of Newton in his space rocket too! The "You're out of this world" sentiment is also from the Cosmic Newton Stamp Set. Maria used the Chibitronics Starter Kit along with our Cosmic Newton  and Cultivated Cacti stamp sets to create a fun interactive space scene! I love the 'push here' added to let the recipient know to press that cactus! So clever!  The starry sky she created using our Cosmic Newton Stamp Set and really pops against that black landscape she created with the Land Border Dies. The "Never Stop Dreaming" sentiment is also from the Cosmic Newton Stamp Set. When you press on the cactus the moon lights in a brilliant white!

I couldn't resist creating a quick light-up card too!

Birthday Cake & Kitty light-up card by Jennifer Jackson | Newton Loves Cake Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs with Chibitronics lights | #newtonsnook #chibitronics

I used the Chibitronics Starter Kit along with our Newton Loves Cake Stamp Set to create a fun interactive birthday card! I thought this image would be perfect with all the candles on top of the cake! I stamped the image on watercolor paper and colored it with inktense pencils in fun bright colors. Then I pieced tiny holes in the flames and set up two little chibi lights behind them. When you press the kitty, the candles light up!
