Cats, Love & Boxes Card by Samantha Mann

Cats, Love & Boxes Card by Samantha Mann | Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set, Meow Stencil and A2 Card Layout 2 Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Cats, Love & Boxes!

Today Samantha has created an adorable card filled with kitties and boxes! If you own a cat, you know how much they love boxes and our Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set is the perfect way to share that love!

We love the neutral color palette that she choose for this card and how she added shades pink for the boxes! She stamped and colored all those cute images of cats squeezed into boxes from the Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set, adding white highlights with a gel pen. She cut the images out using the coordinating  Newton Loves Boxes Die Set.

For her card base she created a textured background using our Meow Stencil with white texture paste. Then she cut out the frame using our A2 Card Layout 2 Die Set and layered it over the textured panel. She arranged all of her images into the windows of the frame and tucked in the sentiment, also from the Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set

Congrats on Your New Home Card by Jennifer Jackson

Congrats on Your New Home Card by Jennifer Jackson | Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set, Serene Stripes Stencil, Banner Trio Die set, Coffee House Stories Paper Pad and Frames & Flags Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Happy New Home!

Hello! Jen here today and I'm sharing a fun card that I created for a friend who recently moved into a new home! My friend also has several kitties so I thought it would be purr-fect to create a card using our Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set

I started by stamping the images of kitties playing in boxes from our Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set onto Bristol paper. Then I colored the kitties and boxes using zig watercolor markers. I cut the images out using the coordinating Newton Loves Boxes Die Set
Congrats on Your New Home Card by Jennifer Jackson | Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set, Serene Stripes Stencil, Banner Trio Die set, Coffee House Stories Paper Pad and Frames & Flags Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade
Next, I knew I wanted to create a scene for the kitties that looked like it was inside a house. I cut out a stitched rectangle for my scene using our Frames & Flags Die Set and then I masked off the top and added brown ink to make a floor. Next, I used our Serene Stripes Stencil and to add stripes to  the top section of the wall. Doesn't this pattern look a little like it could be wallpaper?

I then arranged all the images over the scene and added the sentiment "congrats on your new home!" onto a white banner that was die cut using our Banner Trio Die Set
Congrats on Your New Home Card by Jennifer Jackson | Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set, Serene Stripes Stencil, Banner Trio Die set, Coffee House Stories Paper Pad and Frames & Flags Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade
I framed the whole thing with some heart patterned paper from our Coffee House Stories Paper Pad, cutting it out with our Frames & Flags Die Set to give it a scalloped edge. I love how this turned out and I think the new home owners enjoyed it as well!

I hope this card has inspired you to be creative and find ways to create fun and unique scenes on your cards!

New Home Kitty Card by Samantha VanArnhem

New Home Card by Samantha VanArnhem | Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set, Frames & Flags Die Set, Sky Borders Die Set, and Clouds Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs

New Home!

Do you know anyone who has recently moved?  Today we have an adorable kitty card by Samantha that is perfect for sending happy wishes to a new home owner!! She started out by stamping two images of kitties in cardboard boxes from our Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set. She colored them in neutral colors, adding stripes to the gray kitty and used the Newton Loves Boxes Die Set to cut the images out.

For her card she started with a white card base. For the scene she cut out a panel using the stitched rectangle from our Frames & Flags Die Set. She then cut the top again using our Sky Borders Die Set. She added layers of clouds on the top half using our Clouds Stencil and inked a green grass area on the bottom. This simple background gives the kitties such a lovely setting!

Cat in Box Scrapbook Layout by Samantha Mann

Cat in Box Scrapbook Layout by Samantha Mann | Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set, Newton's Antics Stamp Set and Meow Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Cats & Boxes!

Today we sharing an amazing scrapbook page by Samantha that any cat owner will appreciate! For this gorgeous page, she used our Meow Stencil along the edges of the layout and on the right side where she planned to add the photo, with white texture paste. Once the paste was dry she added watercolors in pinks, reds, oranges and yellows on top. This frames the photo and the page perfectly and is such a beautiful effect! She also added the images of the kitty in a box, just like the kitty in the photo, from our Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set and from our Newton's Antics Stamp Set. Adorable!

Here is a close up so you can see the texture:

If you are anything like me, I never have enough birthday cards on hand so I was excited to play along with the challenge theme of BIRTHDAY! I grabbed the one of my favorite kitty stamps from the Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set to create a fun birthday card. I colored the image of the kitty in the stack of cardboard boxes using copic markers. This set doesn't have a birthday hat in it so I grabbed one from the Newton Loves Cake Stamp Set to add onto the kitties head! The images were cut out using the coordinating Newton Loves Boxes Die Set and Newton Loves Cake Die Set.

Then I added a strip of yellow cardstock across the bottom and added the sentiment from the Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set. A little bit of white bakers twine is the finishing touch! Newton's Nook Designs 7 YEAR Celebration Blog Hop | Photos of Cards, Jen, Jeff, and the kittens
To celebrate, we have a big blog hop today! Make sure to scroll down to the end of the post to see the hop link list and leave them some sweet comments for a chance to win prizes (details at the end of this post).

Every stop on the hop is sharing cards made with our products and I made a card to share today too! For my card I created a slimline card featuring all the kitties!

Newton's Nook Designs 7 YEAR Celebration Blog Hop! Slimline Cat card by Jennifer Jackson | Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set, Newton's Antics Stamp Set, Slimline Frames & Windows Die Set, Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set and Pawprints Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade
In the center of the card I stamped the two kittens in a box from our Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set, coloring them to look like our NEW kittens, Marlowe and Toulouse! The darker brownish gray kitty on the left is Marlowe and lighter pale gray is Toulouse!  Both of our new kittens have distinctive "M" markings on their foreheads so I tried to add that on as well. I'm not very skilled at coloring gray kitties yet but I'm sure I will do much more practicing in the future!

I also wanted to add on the kitties we lost during this last year so I included an orange kitty on the left to represent Newton and colored the one on the right to look a bit like Hobbes! For Newton I used one of our very first Stamp Sets, Newton's Antics. I will always continue to color orange kitties like Newton, since even though he as passed he was a special kitty and remains our company namesake!

The kitty images were cut out using the coordinating Newton's Antics Die Set and Newton Loves Boxes Die Set.

For the slimline card I used an 8.5" x 3.5" card base from Kraft colored cardstock. Then I used our new Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set to cut out the white scalloped border. The square frame with the three windows was cut out using the Slimline Frames & Windows Die Set in lime green. I also used the same die set to cut out the inner squares. I cut a set from yellow and a set from a strip white of paper that I had stenciled colored paw prints onto using our Pawprints Stencil. I arranged the kitties over the three windows and added the sentiment "You're the Best!" from our Thankful Thoughts Stamp Set onto a banner, also cut out using the Slimline Frames & Windows Die Set. I thought that sentiment was fitting because we DO have the BEST FANS!

Miss You Card by Nakaba Rager

Miss You Card by Nakaba Rager | Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set, Stowaway Newton Stamp Set and Furr-ever Friends Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Miss You!

This sweet card by Naki features kitties stuck in boxes, just like many of us are stuck in our houses right now! It would be the perfect for sending to someone who you miss to let them know you are thinking of them. She created this sweet card using the kitties in boxes from our Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set. She colored the images using soft pencil colors and then cut them out using the coordinating Newton Loves Boxes Die Set

For that gorgeous heart background she repeatedly stamped hearts using the little bold hearts from our Furr-ever Friends Stamp Set in a rainbow of colors, leaving an opening in the upper left corner for the sentiment. She added some shimmer spray over the whole background to add a bit of sparkle.

To finish this adorable card, she embossed the sentiment using our Stowaway Newton Stamp Set.

A Set of Stamped Background Cards by September Guest Designer Sindhu Prajay

Hello everyone! Sindhu here. Today happens to be my last GD post for Newton's Nook Designs. I'm so grateful for this opportunity and wish to thank Jen and Samantha again for inviting me over. :) My post for today is all about stamped backgrounds. I enjoy creating my own patterns by stamping backdrops for my focal images. Here is my first card...

Stamped Background Card by September Guest Designer Sindhu Prajay | Newton's Summer Treats and Summer Scoops Stamp Sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

I used Newton's Summer Treats and Summer Scoops stamp sets. I stamped images from the Summer Scoops set on a piece of Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock in light grey ink and coloured the images with a grey copic marker. I used W0 since I didn't want the background to dominate my focal image. I used a stitched rectangle die to cut out a rectangular panel. Then, I coloured the image, fussy cut it and adhered it on the panel and then stuck it on the card base.

For the next card, I stamped small images from the Newton's Birthday Bash Stamp Set in the background with coloured inks. Then filled a few of those images with colour.

Stamped Background Card by September Guest Designer Sindhu Prajay | Newton's Birthday Bash and Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Since the background has so much colour, I decided to tone it down a bit by layering vellum behind my focal image which is from the Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set. I added sentiment on a pice of white cardstock layered on red cardstock. I assembled the card on the card base.

For the last card, instead of stamping images in the background, I stamped text. Text backgrounds are so much fun. I used only a single stamp called 'Classy Teachers'. I didn't use any ruler or stamping tool for help but if you want a perfect background, one of them is recommended.

I used a stitched rectangle die to cut out a rectangular panel. Then, I coloured the image, fussy cut it and adhered it on the panel and then stuck the panel on the card base. Here is picture of the three cards together..

I also wanted to share a picture of all the cards I made for posts this month. :)

Newton Loves Boxes Duo of Cards by September Guest Designer Sindhu Prajay

Hey everyone! Sindhu here. and I'm back with a couple of cute cards. I absolutely love the Newton's Nook Newton Loves Boxes' stamp set. There are four adorable images with many fun sentiments in the set. Both my cards today are very CAS. Here is the first one-
Cats in Boxes Card by September Guest Designer Sindhu Prajay | Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade
To make this card, I started by making a circular window on a piece of cardstock measuring 4.25"×5.5". On the card base, I sponged ink through the brick stencil very lightly.
Cats in Boxes Card by September Guest Designer Sindhu Prajay | Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade
I adhered the card panel with window making sure not to apply adhesive at the back of the lower side of the circular window to make it easy to tuck in the coloured, fussy cut images. I finished the card with three die cut hearts. Here is the next card... I took the circular die cut which I got from making a window on the first card, sponged ink through the same brick stencil and stamped the sentiment. I adhered the coloured and fussy cut images. I also added die cut hearts for a little pop of colour. I adhered it on the card base with foam tape.

New Home Card with Kitties!

Newton Loves Boxes Cards by Larissa Heskett

Cats in Boxes Cards by Larissa Heskett | Newton Loves Boxes and Newton's Antics Stamp Sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Cats + Boxes = CUTE!!

Happy Friday! Today we have TWO adorable cards by Larissa using our Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set! She created two adorable creations by mixing this new set with some old favorites!

On her first card she stamped all four of the images of the kitties in boxes from the Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set and cut them out using the coordinating Newton Loves Boxes Die Set. She added in some fun details onto all the boxes too! She stamped the words "cat's meow" and some fishbones, both from the Newton's Antics Stamp Set, on the sides of the box on the right. For the center box she added "in the sea" from the Tranquil Tides Stamp Set on the box front. The box on the left has a cute little feather added on from the Newton's Birthday Flutter Stamp Set. Then she added in a ball of yarn and little wind up mouse in front, both from the Newton's Antics Stamp Set

Cats in Boxes Cards by Larissa Heskett | Newton Loves Boxes and Newton's Antics Stamp Sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

For her background she created some fun pawprints using the Pawprints Stencil and added the sentiment "I love you more than boxes" from the Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set. The cute little ticket frame was cut out using the Framework Die Set.

Cat in Boxes Slider Card by Larissa Heskett | Newton Loves Boxes and Newton's Antics Stamp Sets by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade
For her second card today she created a fun interactive pull tab card! She stamped two images of the kitties in boxes from the Newton Loves Boxes Stamp Set and cut them out with the coordinating Newton Loves Boxes Die Set and then she stacked them over each other, attaching the top kitty to a pull tab so the recipient gets to pull to reveal the second kitty beneath!

How fun is that!? She also added on some fun box decorations, again using the fishbone from the Newton's Antics Stamp Set and the word "nom" from the Shark Bites Stamp Set. She snuck a little mouse on the orange kitties head too, masking him from the Santa Paws Newton Stamp Set

For the card background she created a fun room with pawprint wallpaper (created using the  Pawprints Stencil) and some cute little framed pawprint pictures. For the frames she die cut the postage edge and ticked shapes using our Framework Die Set and added in the pawprints and words from the Newton's Antics Stamp Set! So fun and creative!

Thank you, Larissa, for the stunning creations today! To say hello to Larissa and see more of her creations, visit her over at her blog, Larissa Heskett Designs.
