Retiring Products Feature Week - Day 2 - Amanda & Zsofia

Did you see that we are having a retiring products sale?

All week our design team will be sharing inspiration using some of their favorite products from our retiring list and today we are featuring projects by Amanda and Zsofia!

Amanda created this delightful raccoon card using our retiring Raccoon Rascals Stamp Set:

The two raccoons on this card by Amanda are so cute and playful together! She used the retiring Raccoon Rascals Stamp Set, stamping the images of the raccoon in a trash can and the one hanging from a tree branch.  She colored the image in lovely neutral tones, adding in white gel pen accents. The images were cut out using the Raccoon Rascals Die Set (also retiring) and added to her card. For the card, she used our Tree Rings Stencil to create a fun layer of textured wood. This panel was also cut out using our Framework Die Set to give it a fun postage edge. She also added the sentiment "Wanna grab lunch" from the Raccoon Rascals Stamp Set, embossed onto a purple banner that was cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set.

  Zsofia couldn't choose which fun retiring product to feature today so she created two fun projects! 

For her first project, Zsofia created a sweet square card using the adorable hedgehog friends from our retiring Hedgehog Hollow Stamp Set. She stamped the two cute hedgehogs, mushroom and ladybug and colored them with alcohol markers. She used the Hedgehog Hollow Die Set, also retiring, to cut the images out and added them to a fun summer scene. For the scene, she used our Frames Squared Die Set to create a scallop edged square and added grass using our Land Borders Die Set along the bottom edge. In the sky she added the sun and clouds using our Sky Scene Builders Die Set. What a perfect card for sending a cherry hello!

Next, Zsofia used our retiring Wedding Frills Stamp Set to create a gorgeous wedding card! She embossed the lovely medallion image with rose gold embossing powder and added the "happily ever after" in the center. For the background, she embossed the lacy floral stamp from the same set, and added soft pink ink and splatters over the top! Don't forget to purchase the coordinating Wedding Frills Die Set too!

Just a Little Note Baby Card by Ellen Haxelmans

Just a little note for Baby!

Today we are sharing an adorable baby themed card created by Ellen! She created this sweet card with a pocket that holds a pull-out tag on the front for an extra fun and special message! She used the tag from our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set (see instructions on the assembly below).  She also decorated the tag pocket using using the cute image of the mouse from our Garden Mice Stamp Set. She colored the image (see color combo below) and cut it out using the coordinating Garden Mice Die Set to layer it onto her card. She also added on two cute little mushrooms in matching colors, stamped from our Hedgehog Hollow Stamp Set and cut out with the coordinating Hedgehog Hollow Die Set. 

Tips on creating this card!
Below we have some tips from Ellen on how to create this card with the fun tag pocket and details on her color combo! 

1.  (Above left photo) First I die cut out a card base using the Frames & Flags Die Set. I also glued a pocket on my card. You can easily make your own pocket, using a square with 3 extra flaps. These flaps can be used to stick the pocket on your card.
2. (Above center photo) I die cut out the tag using the Fancy Edges Tag Die Set and stamped a few words on top of the tag from the Loveable Laundry Stamp Set with embossing power. After that it was time to give the tag color with distress inks.
3. (Above right photo) Then I sprinkled water and white and red ink on top. To ensure that the words remain legible, I placed a piece of paper on the text. To finish the message I die cut the word "happy" from the Walking Woofs Die Set out of glitter paper.
   
   

4. I colored the mice illustration using Zig markers. Marker Swatch (shown in photo above)

5. As last step I placed the images on my card and some extra glitter hearts and rhinestones.

This adorable mouse card by Maria is so fun and cheerful! She used the cute mouse under the flower from the new Garden Mice Stamp Set. She colored the image and cut it our using the coordinating die set to add to her card. She also created a fun stripe of yellow bubbles using our Bokeh Stencil in the background! 

Samantha created the cutest little scene for her card! She used the mouse under the mushroom from the new Garden Mice Stamp Set. She cut the image out using the coordinating die set. Then she also added a bunch of little mushrooms using the images from the Hedgehog Hollow Stamp Set.  She created a shaker card window using the rounded corner square from the new Frames Squared Die Set. The grass and clouds were added on using the Land Borders Die Set and Sky Borders Die Set. 

Zsofia created this delightful card featuring three of the mice from our new Garden Mice Stamp Set. The stamped and colored each mouse in fun bright colors using copics. Then she cut them out using the coordinating die set and added them to a long skinny card. She created a lovely scene fro them by adding clouds into the sky using our Cloudy Sky Stencil too. 

This lovely mouse card by Holly would be a perfect thank you note! She used three of the mice from the new Garden Mice Stamp Set and colored them in vibrant colors using copic markers. She used coordinating die set to cut the images out to add to a white card base. She added the sentiment onto a banner that was cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set!

The mouse is so cute nestled behind the flowers on this card by Tatiana! She used the mouse from the new Garden Mice Stamp Set and added in an edge of flowers that were cut out from one side of the square image in the new Floral Fringe Stamp Set! She also cut out the scalloped edge and the banner that holds the sentiment using our Frames & Flags Die Set. 

Andrea created this charming Spring scene using the mice from our new Garden Mice Stamp Set. She stamped two of them in light ink and colored them with the no-line coloring technique and copic markers. Then She created a scene for them by adding layers of grass using our Land Borders Die Set. She also used our Frames & Flags Die Set to add a scallop edged border. 

Larissa created this sweet mouse card featuring using our new Garden Mice Stamp Set. She stamped the image of the moue under the mushroom and colored it using copics. She added it to her card along with a mushroom die cut (from another brand). She also added the butterfly into the sky using our Bitty Bunnies Stamp Set and added the postage edge using our Framework Die Set. 

The coloring on this card by Naki is so soft and sweet! She created a Spring scene using the mice from our new Garden Mice Stamp Set. She stamped them in light ink and colored them with soft pastel colors to get this effect. She added a layer of grass  along the card bottom using our Land Borders Die Set. She also used the decorative square from our new Frames Squared Die Set, cut from vellum, to hold the sentiment.

 Amanda created a trio of adorable clean and simple cards featuring the mice from our  new Garden Mice Stamp Set. She stamped and colored each one with copics in vibrant colors! Then she used the coordinating die set to cut them out. She added each one to a card, layering them over a decorative square that was created using a die cut from our new Frames Squared Die Set as a mask for the inking. So cute!

Living on the Hedge Card by February Guest Designer Jennifer Dove

Today was a day to live on the hedge with this happy little Hedgehog from Newton's Nook Hedgehog Hollow Stamp Set. I can hear him saying "oh, what have I gotten myself into?". It is a good thing he has a little buddy to get into trouble with. Everyone needs at least one friend that will cause a bit of trouble whenever possible, it gets that adrenaline going and that will make us live longer...thus giving us more days to create. I like that idea, don't you?

I think I am one of those that likes to live on the hedge just a bit...I mean on the edge. Life can be so "everyday". I encourage you to take time to make today different. Take a moment to people watch, listen to the birds, find an imaginary animal-shape in the clouds, or stick out your tongue and capture a snowflake (I know there are a lot of you that are getting enough of them). Even in the little things we can find a moment of "different".

Happy Little Hello Card by February Guest Designer Jennifer Dove

Back to nature with this adorably sweet little hedgehog in a cuppa-love. This little ball of cuteness is part of a large stamp set called Hedgehog Hollow. I love the 4 main images and all the little cute bits and pieces that can go along with it. If you aren't one who like to cut things out then you will be pleased you can also purchase the complimenting dies to go along with it.

   

I decided to create a fun shaker card for this design. Using one of the dies as a frame from Framework Die Set, I added some acetate, foam tape, fun sequins and micro-beads to make the shake, shake, shaker part of it. I love how pink, brown and greens go well together. This card was a no-brainer when choosing colors for this card. I added a little white gel pen to the tips of the hedgehog quills to make the little pricklies stand out. 

Did you know Hedgehogs have more of a soft quill, but by gosh if you hit the end of them with your bare hands you will know it! I think I need a hedgehog in my life. In the meantime I will just create with this adorable stamp set!

Newton's Nook Designs & Therm O Web Inspiration Week - Day 5 with Maria & Zsofia

This week Newton's Nook Designs and Therm O Web are partnering for a fabulous inspiration week! All week long both design teams will be sharing ways to add fun foils and more to your cards using Therm O Web products with Newton's Nook Designs stamps! There are prizes too! Read all the way to the end of this post to find out how you can win! 

Today we are featuring projects by Maria and Zsofia! 

First we have two gorgeous Fall Hedgehog cards by Maria: 

Maria created this adorable card featuring those sweet hedgehogs from our Hedgehog Hollow Stamp Set. She colored the hedgehogs, ladybugs and mushrooms with copic markers and then cut them out with the coordinating Hedgehog Hollow Die Set to add to her card. Behind the hedgehogs she created a gorgeous shaker window. She used the Deco Foil Designer Toner Sheets (Wilderness) from with Gold Deco Foil from Therm O Web to create the sparkly tree pattern. She used this for the front of the shaker and framed it with a die cut frame and filled it with sequins. She added a bow on top that was cut out using our Pines & Holly Die Set. She also added a layer of golden inked grass along the bottom using our Land Borders Die Set to complete the Fall scene! 

For her second card, Maria utilized the piece of foil that was leftover from using the the first card when she used the  Deco Foil Designer Toner Sheets (Wilderness) from Therm O Web! You can use these fun leftover pieces to get the most out of your foil! she covered her card in this piece, gluing it over a pale blue background. then she added that cute hedgehog along with some mushrooms from our Hedgehog Hollow Stamp Set across the center of the card. She used the coordinating Hedgehog Hollow Die Set again to cut them all out. She finished off the card with the "thankful" sentiment from our Thankful Thoughts Stamp Set. So lovely!

 For our last project this week we have three sparkly holiday cards by Zsofia:

For her first card, Zsofia created a lovely winter scene featuring our Winter Memories Stamp Set. She added the skating couple and tree images from the set, cutting them out with the coordinating Winter Memories Die Set. For the sparkly snowy background she used our Petite Snow Stencil along with Deco Foil Transfer Gel and Opal Deco Foil from Therm O Web. She added cut out the word "Christmas" using our Holiday Greetings Die Set with Deco Foil Peel N Stick Toner Sheets and added foil using Gina K Glittering Green Fancy Foil. She also used our Frames & Flags Die Set for the fun scallop edged border.

For her second card, Zsofia featured the cute little mice from our The Nutcracker Squeak Stamp Set, coloring them in lovely shades of purple, blue and mint. She cut them out using the coordinating The Nutcracker Squeak Die Set to add to her card. For the gorgeous snowy background she used our  Snowfall Stencil along with Deco Foil Transfer Gel and Iridescent Deco Foil from Therm O Web. This foil gives such a pretty look when it catches the light! 

For her third card Zsofia created this sweet holiday tree card! She used She used the Deco Foil Designer Toner Sheets (O Christmas Tree) from with Summer Rainbow Deco Foil from Therm O Web to create the sparkly tree pattern. She created a curvy cut on her card front top and bottom using our Land Borders Die Set. Then she added the die cut words on top and bottom using our our Holiday Greetings Die Set with Deco Foil Peel N Stick Toner Sheets and added foil using Gold Deco Foil. Such fun bright holiday colors!

Happy Hedgehog Hello by Zsofia Molnar

A Hedgehog Hello!  

Today Zsofia created a an adorable Fall card using our Hedgehog Hollow Stamp Set! She started out with that cute image of the hedgehog handing on the mushroom and colored it in bright shades or red and brown. She also stamped the little mushroom with polka dots from the set, coloring it red too. She cut both of these images out with the new coordinating Hedgehog Hollow Die Set. We just added this die set to our product line so now cutting out those cutie hedgehogs is so much easier!

For her card base, she used our Falling Leaves Stencil with white embossing paste to create that gorgeous background panel. Along the bottom of the card she layered added some coordinating red and white patterned paper and a brown scalloped strip that was cut out using our Sky Borders Die Set.  Then she added the "happy little hello" sentiment, embossed in white onto a black banner from our Frames & Flags Die Set. What an adorable Fall creation!

Hedgehog Hello by Jennifer Jackson

Happy Hello!

Today I have a happy little hello to share using our Hedgehog Hollow stamp set! This set filled with hedgehogs is just TOO cute! One of my favorite images in this set is the hedgehog in the little teacup! He's just so adorable! I stamped him and colored him with zig clean color markers, then added the "happy little hello" sentiment above him, also from the our Hedgehog Hollow stamp set. I added him on to the card and left it simple, just adding a bit of twine, a doily and some patterned paper from my scraps! Do you find you have a ton of patterned paper you don't use? I'm trying to use up some of mine that I've saved forever!!

Autumn Wishes Card by Yukari Yoshioka

Hedgehogs and Leaves for Autumn! 

Today we're sharing this adorable Fall card by Yukari. She used two of our newer Fall stamp sets: Hedgehog Hollow and Beautiful Leaves. I love how she used the leaves from the Beautiful Leaves stamp set to create a lovely Fall background, coloring them right on the kraft colored paper! Then did the same thing with that cute hedgehog hugging his acorn from the Hedgehog Hollow stamp set! The "Autumn Wishes" sentiment that she used is from the Beautiful Leaves stamp set. I love the way this all goes together so beautifully!
