You Make Rainy Days Brighter Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

You Make Rainy Days Brighter Card by Tatiana Trafimovich | Umbrella Pals Die Set, Bokeh Stencil Set, Raindrops Stencil, and Newton's Umbrella Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Bright Umbrellas

This beautiful card by Tatiana is sure to make any rainy day brighter.

To create this beautiful card she began by cutting out umbrellas in several fun bright colors using our Umbrella Pals Die Set. This die set goes perfectly with the images in our Umbrella Pals Stamp Set but today she is using just the die set on it's own.

For her card base, she created a fun stenciled panel using both our Bokeh Stencil Set and our Raindrops Stencil. She started by stenciling the big blue dots using the Bokeh Stencil Set with blue inks. Then she added the rain using our Raindrops Stencil with white texture paste! That layering effect is so cool!

On her card base she added little black raindrops up the side, stamped using the image from our Umbrella Pals Stamp Set and then layered the stenciled panel over the top. Next, she arranged the umbrellas over the stenciled background, layering them on top of each other and added dimensional tape to raise some of them up. The finishing touch is the sentiment "You make rainy days brighter" from our Newton's Umbrella Stamp Set. She embossed the sentiment in white onto black cardstock and then hand cut around it before adding it to her card.

We love the way the layering of stencils looks on this card! We hope that you will try layering some of your own stencils to create new and fun background patterns and textures!

Gnome Birthday Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

Gnome Birthday Card by Tatiana Trafimovich | Gnome Garden Stamp Set, Land Borders Die Set, Bokeh Stencil Set and Raindrops Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Gnome Birthday Wishes!

Today Tatiana is sharing a gnome themed birthday card that is pretty in pink!

For this sweet birthday scene she starts with the gnomes from our Gnome Garden Stamp Set. She stamps two gnomes along with some butterflies, flowers and a ladybug from the stamp set and colors them using alcohol markers in pretty shades of pink, green and blue. She adds a few white gel pen accents and cuts the images out using the coordinating Gnome Garden Die Set.

Next, she creates a scene for all of her images. She inks a sky in pale pink and then adds layers of circles using our two piece Bokeh Stencil Set in light pinks and then adds raindrops in dark pink using our Raindrops Stencil. Isn't it cool how the two stencils look layered together! What a fun sky!

For the bottom of the scene she cuts out two hills using our Land Borders Die Set and inks the edges with a bright lime green ink. Then she assembles the scene together, adding in the gnomes and all the flowers and butterflies. She adds the sentiment into the sky from the Gnome Garden Stamp Set and adds a little strip of pink striped paper on the right, cut from our Springtime Paper Pad.

Get Well Kitty Cards by Jennifer Jackson

Get Well Kitty Cards by Jennifer Jackson | Newton's Sick Day Stamp Set, Framework Die Set, Circle Frames Die Set and Paper Pads by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Get Well Kitty Cards!

Hello! Jen here today. I realized that didn't have very many get well cards in my stash so I decided to make a few and today I'm sharing 3 sweet kitty themed cards that are purr-fect for sending get well wishes.

I started by stamping images from our Newton's Sick Day Stamp Set. The kitty with the blanket and thermometer in his mouth is so cute, isn't he? I colored the image using alcohol markers. On the blanket I colored it green and then used the colorless blender to remove color for lighter stripes. I also added some darker green and blue to for several colors of stripes. This turned out so cute! I cut the image out using the coordinating Newton's Sick Day Die Set and then mounted it on a white circle that was cut out using our Circle Frames Die Set. I added the sentiment "hope you're feline better soon!" from the Newton's Sick Day Stamp Set onto the circle.

For the background I used yellow dot and green gingham patterned papers from our Autumn Paper Pad and added in the bright blue striped paper from our Coffee House Stories Paper Pad. The trio of prints is framed with a postage edged frame, die cut using our Framework Die Set.  A few sequins in coordinating colors finish off the card.

I made a second card using the exact same image from the Newton's Sick Day Stamp Set. This time I colored the blanket blue with alcohol markers and used the same technique as above with the colorless blender to remove ink. This time I created dots. I also added in some dark blue and yellow dots too.  Again, I used the  coordinating Newton's Sick Day Die Set to cut out the image and a white circle that was cut out using our Circle Frames Die Set with the same sentiment as above.

The last card I created uses a different stamp and layout. This time I used the image of the kitty with the bowl of soup from the Newton's Sick Day Stamp Set
Get Well Kitty Cards by Jennifer Jackson | Newton's Sick Day Stamp Set, Frames Squared Die Set and Bokeh Stencil by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade
I kept with a similar color theme as the other two cards, using blues and greens with a gray kitty. I cut the image out using the coordinating Newton's Sick Day Die Set. Then I cut out a decorative square using our Frames Squared Die Set. I used distress inks on the square to color it so that it matched the bowl. I also added the sentiment in the upper right corner of the decorative square shape.

For this card I used our Bokeh Stencil Set to create a background of cheerful yellow dots. This set has two layers that can be combined for a bokeh effect but you can use just one of the layers by itself to create fun dots, which is what I did here. I added a bit of white cotton twine and then mounted it onto a green cardstock base to match the green on the soup bowl.

I had so much fun creating this trio of get well cards. I hope they bring the recipients some cheer! I hope you enjoyed this inspiration today!

Thinking of Ewe Card by Samantha Mann

Thinking of EWE Card by Samantha Mann | Baa Stamp Set, Bokeh Stencil Set, Frames & Flags Die Set and Essential Alphabet Die Set by Newton's Nook Designs

Thinking of Ewe!

Let someone know they are in your thoughts with this adorable card by Samantha!

For this card she features a sweet trio of sheep from our Baa Stamp Set. She colored these adorable fluffy sheep in neutral colors, adding pink to their cheeks and accents with a white gel pen. She cut the sheep out using the coordinating Baa Die Set

For her card base, she used our Bokeh Stencil Set to add the fun bokeh background in a gradient of pink to peach, created with distress inks. She added more texture with white paint splatters and then she cut this background out using our Frames & Flags Die Set to give it a fun scalloped edge.

To create the customized sentiment she stamped the "thinking of" sentiment from the Baa Stamp Set, embossing it in white on a black strip of paper. Then she cut the letters to spell "EWE" on the right side of the background panel, using the Essential Alphabet Die Set to complete the sentiment. Super creative!

Best Witches!

Today we are sharing an incredible card by Larissa that is sure to put you in the mood for some Halloween treats!

For her focal image, she used the kitten in a jack-o-lantern from our Trick or Treat Kittens Stamp Set. She colored this image with gorgeous bright colors and added white gel pen details. She also colored some extra little candy images to cluster around it. The images were cut out using the coordinating Trick or Treat Kittens Die Set

Next, she created a fun starry background using our Cascading Stars Stencil onto a circle that was cut out using our Circle Frames Die Set. She also added the "Best Witches" sentiment from our new Brooms & Boos Stamp Set in another circle.

Let's talk about that gorgeous background too! She used our Gingham Stencil not once, but twice! She stenciled the pattern once in orange and once in purple, moving it over so that the squares lined up next to each other and the stripes overlapped. So cool! Then she added even more fun by using one of the layers of circles from our two piece Bokeh Stencil Set with a glitter gel over the top! She added amazing details to her coloring with added dots for texture! The images were cut our using the coordinating Naught or Mice Die Set. For her card background she created a fun cheese pattern by using the dots from our Bokeh Stencil with yellow ink over a light yellow background! This is such a fun idea and pairs perfectly with the mice! She added each mouse onto the card over a circle of vellum that was cut out using our Circle Frames Die Set, perfect for adding a soft layer over the background! The finishing touch is the sentiment "naughty or mice?" from the Naughty or Mice Stamp Set, embossed in white on a black square to make it stand out!

2019 Cat Lovers Hop! Birthday Cat Card by Jennifer Jackson | Newton's Birthday Balloons stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade
If you're like me, I never have enough birthday cards on hand so when I do have time to create that's what I usually like to make! For this card I grabbed the cute image of the kitty with the trio of balloons from our Newton's Birthday Balloons Stamp Set. I kept the coloring really simple and didn't do any shading, just added flat colors using copic markers to make a quick and easy card.

For the background I used our Bokeh Stencil Set to create a cool two color pattern. If you haven't used these fun  stencil sets yet, they are so fun to use! The unique Stencil Sets include two pieces and each piece has an etching of the other layer so you can easily line up the layers and create two color patterns. For this card I used pink and yellow.
