Merry Christmas 2019 from Alternative Armies

In our last message of this year the team here in Scotland would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  Our best wishes to you and yours and thank you each and every one of you who comes to us for their tabletop gaming hobby.  May your lum laing reek as we say here.

We will be closing for a wee break over the festive season but we remain open for online orders and we will resume shipping worldwide on 5th January 2020. As always contact us on sales@altertnative-armies.com if you have any questions.

Next year will be a big one at Alternative Armies as we continue to expand Flintloque, Slaughterloo and Kitton; as we expand HOF and have further GNATS Mecha. As Sengoku grows and much more besides.  There are more gaming titles in the works as well as new miniatures and classic sets return to the world too.  We will of course send out emails and news across our social media channels and banners on our website as we go.  Well worth checking our BLOG weekly as all major news goes there first as well as free content.

First Look at King Bonio of Pudigrochumsberg

Welcome to the first look article for the first 2016 release in the Ruined Kingdom of Pudigrochumsberg army for Flintloque and Slaughterloo. This new code will be released in January and follows up on the Line Infantry, Casualties and Dragoons (and the Light Infantry!) in the range already (as of the 8th). You can see them all on the Pudigroan page of our website HERE. We want to show you this time the big cheese, the Dog King, as an inked up master tin hot out of the mold. Here is the code, description as well as images of the deposed monarch of this burned and blackened land. King Bonio of Pudigrochumsberg!

This will be a single code of 28mm white metal miniatures released as a limited edition of one thousand numbered packs only. Two pieces the rider and the horse sculpted by our lead designer Sam Croes this will be the commander in chief of your new force. Meant for use with the rest of the coming Pudigrochumsberg packs but they will also serve well in Confederation of Finklestein collections and also revolutionary older style Ostarian Empire forces. Available as a numbered pack. As with all our Valon miniatures we will offer the additional choice of purchase pro-painted and based by our team of ladies here in Scotland. The pose is a mounted King wearing regal robes and carrying a gilded dog bone of royalty and wearing a crown. His horse is rearing up on its hind legs and is richly outfitted in harness and cloth. King Bonio is a 'Poodle' type Dogman making him the same average height and bulk as an Elf. 

Our eventual aim is to make the Ruined Kingdom of Pudigrochumsberg army for Flintloque and Slaughterloo a totally complete one as we did with the Von Rotte Dwarf Legion in 2015. This means line infantry, casualties, light infantry, cavalry, command, artillery and more. Its an even bigger line up of releases than for the Von Rotte. Resin Baby Hippos for Todoroni now in Flintloque and Slaughterloo

Welcome to December the month of Cryptmass on Valon and we begin this month this news that the Baby Hippos used as mounts for the Todoroni of Nepolise  are no longer white metal but instead they are now spun cast resin.  Yes resin!  Sculpted by Steve Young they have had no changes to their appearance and only differ in production medium.  This follows up on the horses of the Albion Orcs as well as the Trolka and their Moose cavalry as well as KGL Ogre and Hunvarian Ogre rhino riding cavalry.  The riders of these mounts remain in white metal as does the vast majority of the thousand plus miniatures in the range but we do have some news on these.  Here is a list of the cavalry and mount containing codes to which the change have been made or not:

Until Christmas Eve 2014 Offers at Alternative Armies

Wargame News and Terrain reviews 59007 Cryptmass House

Looking into the Box

Timmy over at Wargame News and Terrain blog has posted up a review of the 59007 Cryptmass Goblin House which I sent him back in December.  Its a nice read and offers images such as the one above that are different from those seen on the Alternative Armies website of the finished resin building.

Its a favourable review of our first structure and its something we will be continuing this year.  He commented on the great value and price of the house and I agree; you get a lot for your money.  It was a lot of effort to get it to a finished state and released but its a lovely looking building with a real fantasy feel.  Enjoy!

Concepting for Flintloque...Cryptmass in Al-Garvey

A quick posting about what is about to happen for Alternative Armies and fans of Flintloque / Slaughterloo this festive season.  This will be out in full detail this week and I did mean to do this earlier but its been a really mad week!

Have a look at the concept sketches and see if you can work out the meaning.  Yes, its fairly clear! As you can see the World of Valon is about to get something that before..it never had.  This is going to make wargamers very happy!
