FM74v2 Water Elemental remastered 1980s release from Asgard Miniatures

"The undines are troublesome things from the smallest who froth the ale in your tankard to the greatest which can overturn a hundred oar galley with ease. Mages claim control of them but I am not so sure. Things so strange to us of flesh and bone; who knows how their briny minds work. As it is many of my men have salt worked into their armour from encounters. Water Elementals...drown them all!"

Now remastered and added to the now nearly complete Fantasy Monsters (FM) Range by Asgard Miniatures is the second version of the FM74 Water Elemental which joins all manner of creatures, undead, animals and oddities of some 60 poses.

This any scale metal one piece creature stands 45mm tall to the top of its head. Decorated with coral, rope and seaweed it wields a spear and a net. Our example painted by talented Studio Maxi with a sculpted sea base (40mm square). Supplied unpainted and without a base. Shown with a 28mm scale Jes Goodwin Orc and a 15mm knight from the Tabletop 15mm Fantasy Range

We like to give our customers a treat so there is always something free in every package shipped out by us here in Scotland. Until July 8th it is part one of our Devilish Imps; four any scale miniatures. Read about this in the ARTICLE. No catch..totally free in orders.

Manticores restored in 28mm and 15mm high fantasy monsters

“They eat their victims whole leaving nothing but a few scrapes and not even any bones. I tell you this monster a hybrid of lion, scorpion and the and appalling face of a woman must be fought wherever it is found. Few survive to tell the tale but none the less from the hot sands to the forests bands of heroes seek them to make our world a safer place.”

It is our pleasure to announce that two different scales of the Manticore are now on the website. New molds for the 15mm scale monster in the HOT Range and now after an absence of two decades the 28mm Manticore returns in our Monsters and Creatures Range. The larger monster was sculpted by Steve Trickett in the early 1990’s and is also in new molds.

VNT22 Manticore (55mm tall, 55mm wide with wings)

HOT28 Manticore (40mm tall, 40mm wide with wings)

As you can see these metal models will be fine foes for your gaming table. Shown alongside other miniatures for scale comparison. From the 15mm Tabletop Fantasy Range and the 28mm Orc which comes free with our Giant Troll.  The smaller one will work as a youngling in 28mm should you so choose.

Every order shipped out from Alternative Armies until 10th June 2024 automatically gets F6 Large Rat included for free. You can see it above alongside the Manticores. Our Deals and Offers has new selections including the small rat at half price. We have further 28mm Asgard fantasy releases before the end of the free Rat period and also another remastered 15mm Dragon in the Tabletop Fantasy Range too.

Asgard FM Fantasy Range 1980s returns third round

Alternative Armies is delighted to restore to the world a range which inspired so many which followed it. At the dawn of the 1980's Asgard Miniatures began their Fantasy Monsters (FM) range. We have worked hard to allow tabletop gamers, collectors and Asgard fans the chance to have these miniatures once more.

The third round of releases is here.  Large Oriental style Trolls and Ogres (about 40mm tall) as well as Nick Bibby's Dragon Lizard Mount and its Human Rider plus a Chaos Lance from the Barbarian and Chaotic range. These join the two previous rounds of releases meaning just under fifty in total restored codes on the Tabletop Games and Asgard Fantasy Range pages.

FM22 V1  Oriental Ogre

FM22A V1 Oriental Ogre Standard Bearer (same as FM22V1 with different open hand weapon)

FM22 V2 Oriental Troll

FM22A V2 Oriental Troll Standard Bearer

D7 Dragon Lizard Mount

D8 Dragon Lizard Human Rider (part of kit on page)

AFB10 Chaos Lance

Each miniature is shown in a series of pictures and angles with a total height listed to help you know their size. Total height is from sole of foot to top of highest part of the figure. In the case of long creatures a total length is given the same way.   Note the remastered Storm Giant and the Giant Slug will get their own news later on as they are not quite ready yet...

The MPS range has two small sets restored to the world on the Tabletop Games and Asgard Fantasy Range pages.  There is MPS8 Orc Family Outing and MPS9 Wagon Set (see it above).  Each of these sets can be had as a whole or any parts from it in any quantity.

One of the first classics Alternative Armies restored was the most asked for.  The Orc Rock Band!  Remastered musicians and equipment plus a now resin and twice the size stage.  You can have the whole band with stage HERE or select any of the parts of the set HERE.  We named our Orc Band 'Spinal Crack'!

We hope you enjoy our efforts to keep such wonderful classics in production and we are continuing with this project and each time we get further codes online we will let you know.

Thanks for your Time.

Fantasy 28mm Coatl Winged Serpent released!

The classic 28mm high fantasy range by industry legend sculptors is now almost entirely re-molded and re-released.  Today we bring to you a monster from the Various Nasty Things (VNT) series sculpted in 1991 by Steve Trickett.  The Coatl Winged Serpent is great for many systems and settings.  Go HERE or read on for more now that it is back in the world.

“In the mists of the mountains and above the steaming jungles of the mighty mystery spun continent soars the winged serpent.  Revered as a god by the tribes below the serpent, known as a Coatl, is a majestic monster which dominates its domain.  Its intellect is greater than that of a wise mage and it is rumoured to have magical abilities as well as eyes which can captivate its chosen prey.  Feathered wings and a scaled body with a bright plumage the Coatl is a serpentine menace to any stepped ziggurat dwelling folk who might be unlucky enough to be visited by their god.”

VNT27 Coatl Winged Serpent
This code contains one kit form 28mm scale white metal monster composed of four pieces which are easy to assemble.  This miniature is not supplied with a base and is supplied unpainted. Select your choice from the drop down product menu.  Choose from a pack or three packs with a 10% saving applied.  Assembly is required with some white metal miniatures. Go HERE. Poses in this code are as follows:

VNT27-01: The Coatl. One four part winged monster which is approx 90mm tall when assembled.

We have a huge range of excellent 28mm high fantasy miniatures.  Not to mention the Crystal Elves but also the Dwarves, the Orcs and Goblins the Adventurers and the Undead Legions as well as our other Monsters and Creatures such as the Tree Demon shown here.  Have a browse and remember to check out our Weekly Deals page where a 28mm fantasy code is discounted by 20% for a week.
