NB2R Nick Bibby 1982 Dragon released as unlimited number resin kit

At the start of March 2023 Alternative Armies returned the world a lost classic of 1980's fantasy wargaming; the mighty NB2 Dragon by Asgard Miniatures.  Remastered in new molds and metal Nick Bibby's mighty monster was presented as a now sold out run of 200 numbered box sets each of which contained the dragon plus a saddle and rider.  At the time we promised that the dragon would be released later as an unlimited much cheaper resin version of the kit (NB3 Dragon Rider and NB4 Saddle were not limited) and that day has come!   See the WEBSITE for the Dragon as well as links to articles and more about it.

There was some work done to the Dragon to allow it to be converted to resin.  This is about 5% in total but in all honesty once assembled and painted these changes cannot be seen.  They were mainly alterations to the wings and thickening to the joint plugs for wings and neck.

When assembled the Dragon is 190mm long, 150mm in height, with a wing span from 120mm to 140mm upward depending on build pose chosen.  

The Dragon is supplied in nine resin parts at 28mm scale (though it will work in other scales).  These are the body, the left wing, the right wing, the tail, the head and neck, left leg, right leg, claw and wrist, left foot, right foot.  It is a big model!

Pictures of our own painted metal NB2 Dragon so you can see what it looks like all finished.  The saddle fits upon the neck and almost any Human sized rider fit for a horse will sit upon it.

5024 Escape the Dark Czar

The bitter retreat from Moskova is where you begin your adventure. Take command of General de Brigade Hugo Saindoux and his three fellow survivors as they attempt to evade death and escape from the Witchlands. On their heels are a group of Savant Zombies, the finest Undead in the ranks of the Dark Czar, who are led by Captain Preserovitch. In this set is a twenty page booklet containing the core rules of Flintloque the Skirmish which will get you playing as well as character profiles and three introductory scenarios as well as the story of the Witchlands campaign. September at Alternative Armies

We will be having brand new miniatures as always and also some re-mastered classics as well.  These will include filling in some of the missing Harem poses in the Torture Chamber range before we get to the never seen before 'new' sets which complete the range.  The invasion of the Grey Aliens in the HOF range continues after the four new packs in August with two packs of 'more mobile' Greys.  A small release for Flintloque and Slaughterloo to add to the Todoroni..not meant to be cute but it really is!  New 15mm scale modern, post apocalyptic or science fiction scenics as well.  A customer request in the HOT 15mm Fantasy Range comes to life this month with a new cavalry pack.  The Orc Rock Band will have a new stage to perform upon and the missing Graviski Axe Zombie pack returns.  Articles will see two more Slaughterloo divisions detailed and Andy Jefcoate brings his latest Flintloque adventure.  Lots of fun to come!

When not in battle nor on the march we all need somewhere to rest our heads.  A bell shaped tent with space for four to six occupants and made from canvas is just what is needed. This code composes ONE 28mm scale high quality resin terrain piece great for your table.  It is one piece and can be used for an encampment or as battlefield interest.  A row of them to home your weary troops. These 28mm scale resin terrain objects are a great piece for World of Valon wargaming.

New Modern Tents 15mm scale now released!

Everyone needs somewhere to sleep and often it is not possible to get forty winks in a four poster when you are out in the field up against the enemy. So having a good tent is ideal to keep the bugs, rain, snow and cold out and to keep you snug. There are four codes of tents to choose from which are great for any game system.

FMS03 Frame Tent (2 Pack)
This pack contains two identical resin 15mm scale tents which are thick canvas material stretched over a metal tube frame. Suitable for four to six infantry.  Each model is rectangular and is 50mm long, 30mm wide and 35mm tall.

FMS04 Large Frame Tent
This pack contains one resin larger 15mm scale tent which is thick canvas material stretched over a metal tube frame. Suitable as a command post or workspace for small vehicles or eight infantry.  Each model is rectangular and is 50mm long, 50mm wide and 40mm tall.

Bradley Miniatures releases four 15mm scale tanks plus accessories

As you may well know Alternative Armies works closely with Bradley Miniatures on their excellent 6mm science fiction range.  It is our pleasure to present the first codes in the new 15mm scale version of the range on their own new page! Contender GNATS Mech 100mm tall released and new Meerkat Spotter Suit!

Alternative Armies is joining the ranks of the giants with two new releases into the HOF 15mm Science Fiction range this month.  Our first big mech (we call them GNATS) and a specialised battlesuit whose role is to find targets for it.  Go HERE for the range or read on for details.

Security Force Alpha just got a major upgunning! As if more than a platoon of infantry poses plus specialised troops, battlesuits, bikes, portable weapons, light and medium vehicles plus drop pods and drop coffin were not enough now the GNATS are here.

HOF131 Contender GNATS Mech

This 15mm scale high quality resin kit contains all the pieces needed to assemble the Contender GNATS.  Standing at 100mm tall when assembled the Contender has eleven pieces which create a durable model made for use on your gaming table.  GNATS stands for 'Giant Neuro Assist Titanic Soldiers' and they are the ultimate weapon of battle.  The model is easy to assemble.  It is supplied unpainted and unassembled without a base (base shown is a 59527 75mm Round).  Refer to the parts image to see what is included.  Other miniatures from the HOF range are shown for scale only (SFA Trooper is 16mm tall).  The Contender is armed with a twin barrel 90mm automatic cannon with ammo hopper plus an under arm 130mm howitzer and a top hull turret seven slot missile pod.  It also has a number of point defence lasers for small scale anti-infantry and material tasks both front and rear. It has rocket pods fitted to its rear to allow easy balance and stance regaining.  Contenders are front line units in the USGC (United States GNATS Core). It is a tier two GNATS meaning it is a main battle size machine. It is 2090 and the world is at war! Go HERE.

HOF140 Meerkat Spotter Suit

This 15mm scale battlesuit kit contains all of the pieces needed to assemble the specialist Meerkat Spotter Suit.  Standing 30mm tall when assembled the Meerkat has seven pieces.  A distant relative of the BearCat Battlesuit this model is easy to assemble.  It is supplied unassembled and unpainted without a base (base shown is a 59025 30mm Round).  Refer to the parts image to see what is included.  Other miniatures shown are for scale only.  The Meerkat is armed with a rotary gatling and a three round striker missile pod.  Its primary mission is to use its powerful comms array with its two aerials to seek out enemy strong points and to relay that information to heavier units.  Often paired with GNATS the Meerkat can be a valuable ally in the field.  Go HERE.

15mm scale HOF Drop Pods and Drop Coffin released

Streaking towards the ground with all passengers strapped in tight Alternative Armies is proud to insert three new codes with a mega launch offer in the HOF 15mm Science Fiction range!  We have simple to assemble Drop Pods in both a landed and closed design plus a Drop Coffin. In the near future on Earth or further in the future across the galaxy you sometimes need to get your soldiers ground side in a hurry. Our new Drop Pods have you covered for this. Designed in conjunction with long term wargamer Fred Richards (he of the Bear Cat Battlesuit). New HOF 15mm Cultists, Rim Mercs, Octopods, Bodybags and Scatter Scenics

It is a bumper set of new releases and more into the HOF 15mm Science Fiction range at Alternative Armies to end the month. Go to the range or read on for more. Seven new codes across Octopods, Rim Mercenaries, Cultists as well as scenics. 

The HOF range is huge and diverse with humans, aliens, robots, vehicles and much more suitable for any setting or game system. You can spend quite a while browsing and digging.
