New 28mm ten open hand Skeletons plus Undead Weapons and Shields

In the service of a great Necromancer we present added to our large Undead Legions Range and to the classic Fantasy Warlord Range the Summoned Skeletons along with Undead weapon and shield sets. These bone fellows can be outfitted with anything you choose placed into their hands or on their backs or waists.  Use in any 28mm game system. Sculpted by Sam Croes there are five typical Skeletons and five armoured ones.

Inspired by our respect of the 1990 Fantasy Warlord Range whose miniatures which are all open handed and (aside from the characters) are supplied without weapons we have made something often asked for which features in that rule set and was created by magics; Summoned Skeletons.  

In these pictures you see them ‘assembled’ with weapons and shields as examples of what can be done with the new codes.

VNT57 Summoned Skeletons: This pack of five different 28mm metal open handed skeletons is supplied without weapons or shields.  You can choose from the pack or poses within it on the page.  Minions of a dark overlord.  Combine with with VNT51 and VNT59.

VNT58 Summoned Armoured Skeletons: This pack of five different armoured open handed skeletons in 28mm scale.  They are supplied without weapons or shields.  Choose from the pack or poses within it on the page.  Superior minions of a dark overlord. Combine with with VNT51 and VNT59.

VNT51 Undead Weapon Sprues:  This code contains three metal sprues of weapons suited to Skeletons, Zombies and other Undead creatures.  Each sprue holds its weapons on a trio of skull motifs which you can use for your projects as decorations or armour adds.  Weapons are Halberd, Spear, Long Sword (2H),Sword, Axe, Mace, Bow and Quiver and lastly Crossbow and Quiver.  Set of all with a saving or choose singles on the page.  

VNT59 Undead Shield Sprues:  This code contains two metal sprues of shields rotted for Skeletons and Zombies.  Each sprue has its shields mounted on a trio of skull motifs which you can use for your projects as decorations or armour adds.  Shields are Oval, Kite, Round Bossed Wooden, Round Plain Plate and Round Wooden. Set of all with a saving or choose singles on the page.

Lastly have you seen our 80mm tall Giant Skeleton?  It is an easy to assemble metal kit which comes with its fallen self (5 resin pieces) included for free!  A great centre piece for your army.

Barbarians by Jez Goodwin restored 1980’s new pictures

We were asked and it has been done!  Sculpted by Jes Goodwin in the early 1980’s and to some among the finest 28mm Barbarians to exist in metal these codes were among the first Alternative Armies restored in Project Asgard.  

Project Asgard was in its early days and hence the pictures were not among the best (ten years ago eh!) so they have been updated.  We have just restored the three Barbarian Centaurs as well so it seemed a good time and on top of that two set saver packs.  One with a saving off the full dozen and the other with a free Midsummer Druidess included.

Every miniature has a new picture of front and rear and these painted ones are from the personal collection of Sam Croes.  Above is our second favourite of them BP2 Fire Daughter.

These work in any game system as characters or rank and file in your warband.  The meanest of the bunch is of course BP12 Hax Ragged above; our favourite.

SN12 Scary Pumpkin Men 28mm new in Festive Range

A new addition to our Seasons of Celebration Range and much requested we present Scary Pumpkin Men!

Out of the patch and grown from their stalks before taking up weapons and hunting the very Humans who seek to use them for decoration.  The carving shall be the other way around this time!  Just look at that evil grin...

Warbot II customised for 15mm Star Mercs by Sam Croes

Our most recent new miniatures in the vast HOF 15mm Science Fiction Range were an entire new faction; the Star Mercs. Armoured troopers for all of the hired gun jobs which were too tough for the lightly armed Rim Mercs. While we do plan an expansion to these fellows in the future for now there was a desire to give them a battlesuit and so we turned to the sculptor of the Star Mercs our head designer Sam Croes. Here is his take on WarBot II customised. 

 

 

AS028 WarBot II is for any scale just like WarBot I so using it in 15mm is no problem at all. The model comes as five pieces which is upper body, legs, left gun, right gun and comms antenna. Here is a picture of the standard build next to the Star Merc one. 

 

 

The Star Merc colour scheme is yellow with black detailing (our studio set, you can of course paint them any colour) and so the customised Warbot II had this as well. 

 

 

The addition of a missile pod as well as single baggage and double baggage rolls gives the campaigning Star Merc Battlesuit some extra firepower and kit for scouting as well. The additional pieces are all from IA065 15mm Vehicle Conversion Pack in the Ion Age Terrain and Accessories Range. The pack or anything from it can be had in any amount. 

 

 

Above is where each was added. Missile Pod (H), Single Equipment Roll (L) and Double Roll (M). Sam did think about quad rotary guns using part I from this set but missiles were chosen in the end. 

 

 

Unlike Security Force Alpha who police the teeming cities the Star Mercs travel between worlds and are deployed in squads and platoons. Armed with projectile and energy weapons as well as missile packs too.

VNT33 The Wyvern Kildane returns a huge monster 200mm wingspan

“Swords drawn and pennants fluttering in the breeze the knights were assembled for battle.  They had rode and strode forth that morning their hearts strong for the killing of the beast.  Their lances and swords would put an end to the tyranny of the creature known as Kildane. Time passed and the sun moved across the sky and just as they thought the day to be without the prize the Wyvern came to them.  High up in the air a shadow crossed the glare of the sun.  A shadow that was large, far larger than they had expected.  As one they looked up....they saw their deaths there in the sky, wings spread and teeth as long as a man's arm."- The tale of Sir Alfred the only survivor of the Wyvern Kildane.

DH16 Mountain Dwarfs 28mm Fantasy released

"The deep places and the halls of gold.  These are ours.  Be gone foul smelling Goblins and bone piles of the Necromancer.  You will taste our axes this night"

Now in our Dwarven Hosts 28mm fantasy range and adding to the fifty five other Dwarfs there plus Gnomes and of course Fnorr the Big 'Un a new pack of four miniatures which can also be had as singles in any quantity.

Each of these miniatures consists of a resin casting with a separate metal arm holding an axe.  Four different miniatures, four different arms and each arm will fit any of the four.  Each also comes with a separate shield which can be mounted on arm or left off if you prefer.  Average 24mm height.

DH15 Dwarf Runic Golem.  A resin 28mm scale kit is styled in the traditional manner of Dwarfs whose love of gold and mining has led them to use magic to artifice a big brutal runic golem to aid them in battle. Assembled from five highly detailed pieces with a small degree of pose the Golem is 65mm tall and is supplied with a 50mm square resin base.

The Ion Age new painted pictures Muster Alouten and Planetary Militia

Leading up to the new 28mm Female Retained Knights as the last release for June 2022 we are delighted to update some of the pictures of the over two hundred miniatures in the 28mm range.  In the first of two such articles we present, from the collection of Sam Croes, five packs worth of painted images.  Enjoy!

Space Opera wargaming in The Ion Age.  Muster are the well trained troops of the Prydian Precinct who are present in their multitude millions and transported from world to world.  The Alouten of the Retained Knights who are the lowest of their ranks and new to the knightly orders.  Planetary Militia defend their own worlds and number in the billions with some coming from colder worlds than others.

Starvaulter Knights join the 28mm Ion Age range

The legendary Ion Age range of some two hundred poses in 28mm scale is growing once more as Alternative Armies begins its next phase of expansion.  Two packs of four which can, as with all others in the range, be had as singles too. Starvaulters!  These are semi-modular miniatures with separate arms and back pack meaning pose options (plus you can mix and match arms between poses in a pack for huge variety).   Go HERE for the range.

Starvaulters are the one million strong elite of the Prydian Precinct. True Knights of the Stellar Vastness. The best of the best sitting atop the entire Prydian Army and given nearly impossible missions and quests daily. At their own pinnacle sit the great lords who attend the Princess Cyon and are true heroes in their own right. Some campaigns are assigned a lance of Starvaulters in regular battle to use as special forces as they are more than a match for even the finest Desteria Knight or Retained Noble. Great for skirmish level games or combining with other codes for bigger formations and battles.  Starvaulters wear the superior Alwite MkVIII Powered Armour and use Valerin Laser weapons systems.

The Ion Age 28mm range also contains Human Betrayers, goblinoid Maligs and Psycoborgs as part of the Shia Khan Empire's client (read as slave) races.  These support the Legionaries in their attacks upon Prydian space.
