VLE17 Major Caden Penmervorc very limited edition Flintloque release

“An amiable fellow and a fine officer Caden Penmervorc has served in many regiments since he left his native Cornwulle. Gradually raising in rank he once served as cook to General Wheeling-Turn while stationed on the Isle of Wights. As a result he makes excellent pasties and is rather a good shot with a pistol. Currently attached to the 2nd Heavy Dragoons in Catalucia.”

We are delighted to present the seventeenth very limited edition code for Flintloque and Slaughterloo. Very Limited means the code has 250 numbered packs produced and supplied numbered before the mold is destroyed and it is gone forever. It joins our range of Limited Editions which covers the standard 1000 pack limited, the very limited at 250 and the limited edition units at 100 sets only.  Above Major Penmervorc is in the high plains of Catalucia standing watch over a Handcart loaded with provisions for his lads.

Rules for the use of this character in Flintloque and Slaughterloo are on the website page for VLE17.  Try him out on the table!

VLE17 Major Caden Penmervorc: This code contains three miniatures in 28mm scale. The same character on foot and mounted (metal) on a horse (resin).  Comes with two separate hands (pistol and sword) and is supplied with resin cartouche bases. Sculpted by Nikki Chatwin.  Supplied in a pack with its unique number for collectors.  Shown on page with 5024 Escape the Dark Czar leader of the Ferach forces General Saindoux.

Add to your Greate Britorcn forces the untied kingdom of Orcs, Ratmen, Hob Goblins and Bog Orcs with their Ogre allies. The 2nd Heavy Dragoons have mounted riders and foot infantry among their codes which you can see on this refined search for DRAGOONS.  Dragoons are excellent for Flintloque for skirmishing as scouts and rescue scenarios.

In the service of the Dark Czar death is a certainty for all.  In fact most are dead before coming into his service by courtesy of the Graviski Re-animator crew.  Zombies rot away and become skeletons before crumbling to snow pattered dust.  The loss of a head is the end in all cases...but not quite.  Something of an oddity even among the Undead is Nikita Hedloski who has lost his noggin but keeps on going.  Attached to the 9th Corpseov Fusiliers he aids in command.  VLE16 Nikita Hedloski Zombie NCO.

We like to give our customers a treat so there is always something free in every package shipped out by us here in Scotland.  Until August 5th it is part two of our Devilish Imps; four any scale miniatures.  Read about this in the ARTICLE.  Totally free in orders included automatically.

Thank you for reading and for supporting the deepest longest and largest range of black powder fantasy miniatures in the world.

A master of fashion is here in a new very limited edition code sculpted by new talent Nikki Chatwin in his first Flintloque and Alternative Armies miniature.

We have a wide array of limited run codes for the World of Valon depicting characters and notables for the games.  See them all on the website.

VLE15 Michrana Cappelo Carlos

"Tiny Hat" Michrana Cappello Carlos...fabulous over weight eccentric, embellisher, storyteller, lover of fine foods and wines, art and fashion...he likes to see himself as military fashion mogul coming up with new trends claiming they are "straight from Ferach capital itself" like his iconic tiny hat (which many tease him for) with a single massive fiery feather which he "claims" he hand picked off the back of a slayed phoenix....on paper he's a master military tactician but as of yet has only seen one major battle in which he took shrapnel in the eye in the early moments of the battle, though if he tells you about the battle its a very different story ...he commands a small division know for their constant change in uniform design and colour as he can never decide what he likes, this has gone on to the division being nicknamed the "rainbow militia"..they are by far not the best soldiers around but by god they are the best looking "apparently".

The fifteenth VLE (Very Limited Edition) pack contains one metal miniature in 28mm scale (approx 32mm in height). Todoroni senior officer.  250 Numbered Packs Only then molds destroyed. Free Rules for Flintloque and Slaughterloo can be found on its page for this pack on the website to use in play.

Returned to the website!  A classic Flintloque code the Elf Engineers are back in new molds and remastered.  Go to 51032 1er Sappuers de Ligne for some interesting poses for game use as pack and now as single choices too on page.  Rules for their use are in 5027 Grapeshotte expansion book for Flintloque.

Escape the Dark Czar!  The Flintloque beginners set is great value with ten resin miniatures, bases, dice and booklet with rules and three scenarios all included.  On our Begin in Flintloque page you will see this plus free materials and scenarios taking place after the ones in the booklet.

56540 Cotechina Guarda Todoroni return re-mastered and on offer

“Quite a few Armoricans were surprised when the annual troop review took place in Nappoly when after thousands of gaudily dressed Todoroni marched past in a variety of styles all different to each other naturally they saw something new. Last in the review were five new regiments that had been privately raised and then gifted to King Tadio Polo who sat on his golden throne and clapped excitedly at the new troops marched past in perfect formation and saluted him as they went.

Murmuring the Elves asked each other, who were these excellently drilled, uniformed and equipped soldiers and why were they wearing the trademark bearskins, the headgear of elite guard soldiers. The King waited for the review to end and then at a signal he ordered the regiments to wheel back in to the square in front of the royal stand. As one they raised their muskets and fired a salute to the king making several high ranking Elves duck. They had never seen such precision from Todoroni. At this point a short and portly Toad stepped from the ranks and bowed to the assembled nobility and Elves before ascending to the stand. He was the Baron Petrochemicoli a very, very rich noble who had become sick of being the butt of all the jokes going on military ineptitude.  He had raised an elite regiment of Toads.”

Now re-mastered and in new molds the finest regiment in the Army of Nepolise the Cotechina Guarda is back on the website with new images, plus choice of pack, unit and all poses as singles and an offer too.  Get them for your games of Flintloque or Slaughterloo. Go HERE or read on.

56540 Cotechina Guarda:  Eight different poses of little Todoroni (standing about 28mm to the eye line) in metal.  Armed with muskets and in fine uniform with bearskins.  Officer lunging with sword, Todoroni Singer, Standard Bearer with pole, Sergeant with grounded musket smoking a cigar.  Four different privates in advancing, marching, firing and lunging with bayonet fixed.  A pack of ten or a unit of twenty or any pose as a single.

LE043 Baron Petrochemicoli:  The founder and financier of the Cotechina Guarda the Baron is a very rich fellow indeed.  A limited edition miniature which is supplied numbered with an insert.  Limited to 1000 packs only.  Go HERE for the limited edition range.

Alternative Armies has a wide selection of limited editions which are favoured by collectors.  They depict famous leaders, commanders, odd ball characters as well as seasonal specials and promotional figures.  While none are vital to playing the games they do add interest.  Each is supplied in a pack with its unique number written on its insert.  We also have a 'swop drawer' which contains any sold out limited packs which have been traded back to us or returned from store stock or other places.  This changes weekly but if you are looking for a certain code then contact us on sales@alternative-armies.com and ask.  We sell them at face value compared to other in stock limited codes.

Mark Taylors own Joccian Rats for Flintloque and Slaughterloo

It is my great pleasure to show off to you the fantastic personal Ratmen of Joccia force which belongs to Mark Taylor.  He is something of a wizard with a paint brush and takes pride in his Flintloque miniatures with which he plays Slaughterloo in unit formations.  Half a dozen photos each with a story to tell.  If you would like to see the Joccians (who are the Scots in the fantasy world of Valon) then visit our website HERE as page two of the mighty Army of Greate Britorcn.

Mark has made some scratch built additions to his miniatures and these add a personal touch.  Lets see what each of these furry fierce kilt wearing soldiers is all about.

The venerable General Archirat Gordon commander of the Joccians in Catalucia. When he rides to the fore the Ratmen will stand against any enemy!  This is a limited edition pack (LE028) to which reins have been added.  He is painted in the tartan of the 44th Foote.

The fabulous fighting Strathcarnage & Killmore 44th Foote who are Highland Rats commonly known as the 'The Furty Fairth'.  A regiment which has fought many battles in Catalucia and in the Goblin lands of Al-Garvey and a firm favourite of General Gordon and of Wheeling-Turn himself.  This is a line infantry code (56502) which comes with troopers as well as an officer and a bagpiper too.  Mark has converted another infamous Joccian (LE014 Angus McBam) into a standard bearer with flag by removing the sword and putting in rod.

Some of the heaviest cavalry that Britorcn has in its possession.  Known as the Joccian Greys this regiments actual title is the '2nd North Britorcn Hussars' and its troopers ride upon great hairy cows.  They have the reputation of being unstoppable, an image that they more often than not live up to. Sadly, this applies not only to the inability of their foes to stop them when in action, but also to their own General’s lack of control over these over-enthusiastic warriors. Valorous to the point of madness, they tend to believe that they can single-handedly defeat entire enemy armies.  This is a cavalry code (56511) which comes with an officer, standard bearer and trooper poses.  Mark added reins and also a great flag.  The reins look superb!

While the Ferach Armee has the greatest Artillerie there are many fine batteries in the Army of Greate Britorcn and the Joccians have their share of these.  Favouring medium guns such as the 6lb or the long 9lb these gunners are found trailing behind divisions in Catalucia.  Mark's guns are drawn by hairy Highland Cows.  The artillery crew is a full set with the two cows (56515) along with an Alliance Limber (5100LT) and long nine cannon (59501).  Mark has done great work here with the paint job.

The lowlands and towns of Joccia produce smaller soldiers than those of the highlands and while not as fierce they are steadier and more numerous than their larger brothers.  A battalion of the Glasgee Lowland Line flying the 'Slaytire' flag provide a solid centre to Mark's forces in Slaughterloo.  At the top is the officer with musket and sword followed by views of the whole twenty figure unit from angles.  All taken from line infantry code 56503.

You can learn more about The Ratmen of Joccia in two of our books.  These are 5025 War in Catalucia for Flintloque and 5030 Slaughterloo wherein you read and see their homeland, regiments and characters as well as a lot more.

Thank you Mark for giving permission to share these great pictures.

Excellent fun!

Free Insert for LE046 King Bonio for Flintloque and Slaughterloo

During the Ferach Revolution an act of supreme royal arrogance and stupidity led to the ruination of the small kindgom of Pudigrochumsberg. Despite the pleading of his arch chancellor Mutternicht not to act the Emperor of Ostaria made a choice to send his massive white coated army into battle against a hopelessly outnumbered foe. Klaffenhund the emperor of Ostaria had no reason to commit this act of near genocide but his word was law to the Dogmen of the empire. Why invade? No one knows for sure but some think he was annoyed at the light brown colouration of Pudigrochumsburg on the maps of the throne room and screamed for it to be made burned and black next to the white of Ostaria. Perhaps he meant the map only but his army of hundreds of thousands marched into the little kingdom where only a king and his army of thousands awaited them.

King Bonio was a good king. Kind and on the whole a good dog to his subjects. His kingdom pretty and well fed with its kennels well stocked. Known as Licksmeister of Meaten and Baaksgraf of Kennolia he had always been a hunter and skilled marksman. Leading from the front he commanded the Pudigroan Army in the field. At the towns of Mastiff and Nobath they turned back the larger but badly led Ostarian Empire but it was hopeless. Endless numbers of white coated Dogmen marched into Pudigrochumsberg. So an evacuation was ordered and an exodus undertaken while the army fought one rear guard action after another.

An arrangement with the Emperor Mordred newly made ruler of the Ferach Empire ensured the fleeing people had a place to go and as King Bonio, wounded and bleeding, rode his horse out of his homeland towards the waiting battalions of Armorican Elves he looked over his shoulder at a burning and blackened land. Klaffenhund would be made to pay…someday.

As promised earlier in this new year...is it the end of January already? The free insert for LE046 King Bonio of Pudigrochumberg the leader of the Pudigroan people and head of the new army too. Containing background, uniform details, ideas, rules for Flintloque and rules for Slaughterloo it is a useful little article given to you in one page. To download it from our dropbox just click on the link HERE or visit the Pudigroan page on our website HERE. The link is also on the page for LE046 too.

I would like to thank all of the fans of the World of Valon for their support of this new miniature code. Its been very popular alongside the core Pudigroan Line Infantry. If there is an insert for a character you would like to see for Flintloque do send me an email or comment here.

LE046 King Bonio of Pudigrochumsberg released for Flintloque

All hail the King!

The first Flintloque and Slaughterloo release into the World of Valon for 2016 at Alternative Armies is the supreme commander of the Army of Pudigrochumsberg. We present to you the big cheese himself the Dog King! We have Line Infantry, Casualties, Dragoons and the Light Infantry in the range for this army already. You can see them all on the Pudigroan page of our website HERE

“In the Elves we have found allies to aid us in the burning of Ostaria. With our differences now behind us the Baron Von Rotte and your king have pledged our swords and our armies to this common purpose. Each of us with a strand or two of the dress that caused the Silage War and so many deaths. It is not to the Witchlands we will march but rather to Kartoffelberg and to Catalucia to fight the enemies of Mordred. As for I your monarch. I will be taking our finest and paying a visit to that mad tyrant Klaffenhund to give him a gift from a friend, to give him 'Cannisters of Pudigro from a Chum'. This I swear by Fidolfus!
King Bonio of Pudigrochumsberg

LE046 King Bonio
This code comprises two 28mm white metal miniatures released as a limited edition of one thousand numbered packs only. Two pieces the rider and the horse the commander in chief of Pudigrochumsberg. Meant for use with the Pudigrochumsberg Army units but they will also serve well in Confederation of Finklestein collections and also revolutionary older style Ostarian Empire forces. As with all our Valon miniatures we offer the additional choice of purchase pro-painted and based by our team of ladies here in Scotland. A mounted King wearing regal robes and carrying a gilded dog bone of royalty and wearing a crown. His horse is rearing up on its hind legs and is richly outfitted in harness and cloth. King Bonio is a 'Poodle' type Dogman making him the same average height and bulk as an Elf. Go HERE

We have two more articles for you this month for Flintloque later in January. The first of these is a 'First Look' at the releases for February which will see artillery in the hands of Pudigrochumsberg and also a new artillery piece which is rather different! Secondly a free PDF insert for King Bonio giving you his background, uniform details and game rules for Flintloque and for Slaughterloo. Exciting!

Our eventual aim is to make the Ruined Kingdom of Pudigrochumsberg army for Flintloque and Slaughterloo in 2016 a totally complete one as we did with the Von Rotte Dwarf Legion in 2015. This means adding artillery, heavy cavalry, command and personalties as well as a whole Slaughterloo DAP box. Its an even bigger line up of releases than for the Von Rotte. First Look at King Bonio of Pudigrochumsberg

“They are a burned and blasted race and that is why we will have them in our ranks. My soldiers fight for me, for the eagles at their fore, for the promise of a future owned by us. But these troops will die and die fighting savagely for they have a hatred in them that we lack. They would kill every Ostarian ever littered. And that...that suits my purpose.”
The Emperor Mordred on the troops of Pudigrochumsberg

Welcome to the first look article for the first 2016 release in the Ruined Kingdom of Pudigrochumsberg army for Flintloque and Slaughterloo. This new code will be released in January and follows up on the Line Infantry, Casualties and Dragoons (and the Light Infantry!) in the range already (as of the 8th). You can see them all on the Pudigroan page of our website HERE. We want to show you this time the big cheese, the Dog King, as an inked up master tin hot out of the mold. Here is the code, description as well as images of the deposed monarch of this burned and blackened land. King Bonio of Pudigrochumsberg!
