Asgard FM Fantasy Range 1980's returns pt2 fifth round Monsters!

Earlier this month the first of two parts of the fifth round of restored classic 1980's miniatures by Asgard were put onto the website (details HERE) and now its time for the second part; Monsters! Sculpted by such legends as Jez Goodwin, Nick Bibby, Steve Trickett and Tony Ackland among others. These seven restored codes are all in metal and are from the FM Range. You can see the whole range nearing eighty returned HERE and we have a new page just for Nick Bibby's work at Asgard HERE by request. His work features heavily in this news.

This time it is the turn of the monsters and creatures. From a mighty Griffon and Manticore to a Norse Giant and Trolls but not forget the chaotic Psionic Flayer.

We hope you have enjoyed the fifth round. That is all for this month but next month we will have a rather special large miniature carefully returned and then in March after weeks of careful restoring work..oh my...such a huge shadow in the skies...

Asgard FM Fantasy Range 1980's returns fifth round pt1

There are now more than seventy returned classic miniatures of the 1980's by Asgard on the website. Monsters, Creatures and more by such legends as Jez Goodwin, Nick Bibby, Steve Trickett and Tony Ackland among others.

Now in the first of two parts this month we give you six more restored miniatures for your tables.  All are from the FM 28mm Fantasy Range and cast in metal.

The second half of these restored releases will be announced later this month.  We are preparing them now!

MP10 Apothecary.  One of several returned civilian miniatures in the Guild Room scenic range.  Once more in metal it is a useful figure and fits right into any market place or trading station.  We have seen it used for fantasy, for historical and even sci-fi gaming.

We will continue our restoring of classic ranges and models by Tabletop Miniatures and Asgard Miniatures and we hope you have been enjoying it.  As an aside remolding is underway on the 15mm Laserburn Range on the 100 series Law Officers to keep them in the fight!

Asgard FM Fantasy Range 1980s returns fourth round pt1

We are catching up with the end of the Summer Mega Event and thus while we are we wanted to give you some 'new' things to look at.  A large group of Asgard dawn of the 1980's models have been restored and are coming out in September.  They are all from the Fantasy Monster (FM) range and take us up beyond the fortieth miniature.  All of this big group of restored, remastered releases for the month are on the site now but we will release the pictures and news in three parts; this being the first. We have worked hard to allow tabletop gamers, collectors and Asgard fans the chance to have these miniatures once more.

In this news we show to you five monsters mixed of snakes and trolls.  Each miniature is shown in a series of pictures and angles with a total height listed to help you know their size. Total height is from sole of foot to top of highest part of the figure. In the case of long creatures a total length is given the same way.

FM25 Giant Snake (50mm long)

FM30 V2 Half Troll with Sword (27mm tall)

FM35 Hill Troll (35mm tall)

FM36 Were Snake (30mm tall)

FM41 Mountain Troll (50mm tall)

Great for any game system and some really novel looking ideas for creatures.

The Guild Room range is where we have put all of the thus far restored 1980's Tabletop and Asgard scenic miniatures and characters.  For example above is the great WW1 Wizard on Throne Set which can be had as a pack or parts from it on its page.  This goes along with magic mirrors, potion bottles, skull candle holders and much more.

Thanks for your Time.

Awaited and now here FM19 Storm Giant by Asgard Miniatures

When Alternative Armies made the announcement that we were going to remaster and re-release the Asgard Fantasy Monsters (FM Range) it was greeted with happiness and that made us smile. One of the most requested returns was that of the FM19 Frost Giant a 70mm tall three piece metal monster fondly remembered. Well today is the day! Now on the website with all new pictures!

You can see the mighty giant (which was at the time one of the biggest such in Great Britain we are told) above being attacked by three of the Barbarians of the Wilds (sculpted by Jez Goodwin). Sculpted by Tony Ackland the Frost Giant works for all scales of armies especially 28mm and 15mm.

Here is FM19 from all angles and with example miniatures. That is a mighty mace he is swinging!

Alternative Armies has other giants which can feature in your games. Such as the DH15 Dwarf Runic Golem (above) and our own classic DH3 Fnorr the Big Un who is about the same height as the Frost Giant both in our Dwarven Hosts range. OH31 Durzum the Dwarf Killer is our 100mm tall Giant Troll who comes with a free Orc part of our Goblin and Orc Hordes range. Lastly from our Kitton Range is 58020 Jigoku the Giant Oni which is 100mm tall and enemy of the Samurai Catmen.

Asgard FM Fantasy Range 1980s returns third round

Alternative Armies is delighted to restore to the world a range which inspired so many which followed it. At the dawn of the 1980's Asgard Miniatures began their Fantasy Monsters (FM) range. We have worked hard to allow tabletop gamers, collectors and Asgard fans the chance to have these miniatures once more.

The third round of releases is here.  Large Oriental style Trolls and Ogres (about 40mm tall) as well as Nick Bibby's Dragon Lizard Mount and its Human Rider plus a Chaos Lance from the Barbarian and Chaotic range. These join the two previous rounds of releases meaning just under fifty in total restored codes on the Tabletop Games and Asgard Fantasy Range pages.

FM22 V1  Oriental Ogre

FM22A V1 Oriental Ogre Standard Bearer (same as FM22V1 with different open hand weapon)

FM22 V2 Oriental Troll

FM22A V2 Oriental Troll Standard Bearer

D7 Dragon Lizard Mount

D8 Dragon Lizard Human Rider (part of kit on page)

AFB10 Chaos Lance

Each miniature is shown in a series of pictures and angles with a total height listed to help you know their size. Total height is from sole of foot to top of highest part of the figure. In the case of long creatures a total length is given the same way.   Note the remastered Storm Giant and the Giant Slug will get their own news later on as they are not quite ready yet...

The MPS range has two small sets restored to the world on the Tabletop Games and Asgard Fantasy Range pages.  There is MPS8 Orc Family Outing and MPS9 Wagon Set (see it above).  Each of these sets can be had as a whole or any parts from it in any quantity.

One of the first classics Alternative Armies restored was the most asked for.  The Orc Rock Band!  Remastered musicians and equipment plus a now resin and twice the size stage.  You can have the whole band with stage HERE or select any of the parts of the set HERE.  We named our Orc Band 'Spinal Crack'!

We hope you enjoy our efforts to keep such wonderful classics in production and we are continuing with this project and each time we get further codes online we will let you know.

Thanks for your Time.
